Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

Bad, you salvage enough that they are usable for a normal bonus...

Male Dwarf lvl 5 cleric of Angradd

How are they stacked? blue on top of red?

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

The blue cloak is placed underneath the rest of the red cloaks...

Male Halfling Bard 1

Arcana check? 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Sweet Crit!

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

Davik walks over, glances at the cloaks, and starts saying every magical property that they have: will grow to fit you, will give +1 bonus to Will, Ref, and Fort...

They are Cloaks of Resistance +1

Male Halfling Bard 1

Upon realizing what they are Davik gets a grin on his face and says, "Dibs on the blue one!"

Male Dwarf lvl 5 cleric of Angradd

"Bah! Magical cloth?!? The Iron Lord blesses those who put faith in their martial skills and teaches that the best use of cloth is to wrap your dead in them!" Valak slams his fist into his own chest, rattling his gleaming chainmail. "Iron in your hands, steel on your chest and a battlesong to the Iron Lord on your lips is the only way I wish to enter battle!" Valak steps back from the stack of cloaks so others may take a closer look.

In other words, since there are 5 of us and only 4 cloaks, I will pass on taking one.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Having known for what they are, Bhad picks one up without comment before wrapping his body around it.

Ready to go as I `ll ever be. And if anyone asks, the tastier one`s in blue.
He guffaws at his own joke, looking at the halfling.

Feena gathers up a red coal and clasps it securely around her neck. She goes over her equipment one last time, Shall we be on our way then?

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

"I think it's about time we head out. Now, where's the map?"

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

The map is still folded, on the ground, next to the discarded parcel packaging...

Male Halfling Bard 1

Davik narrows his eyes at Badang, "You're just jealous cause I got it first" he pulls the hood up over his head and then scoops the map up off the floor and unfolds it.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

The map is relatively simple, it points in the general direction of the fortress, showing no landmarks but the town, Absalom...

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Well, there's that. What are we waiting for? Don't want to wait for that senile human to chase us off are we?

Tanis, what's the status on the thieve's tools earlier?

Male Halfling Bard 1

Davik folds the map back up and strides out of the room, hoping the rest of the group follows.

Feena follows Davik, making sure to keep a close eye on him.

Male Halfling Bard 1

Do you not trust me? *Mischevious smile*

Davik Smilebeard wrote:

Nope :-)

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

Badang, I will only allow a +1 bonus because you don't have a complete set.

The group quickly hurries off, heading directly through the rolling hills, strait to the fortress. As you travel, you see minimal animals, rabbits, squirrels, and few plants. The surrounding area isn't necessarily a forest, but there are a good amount of trees. You are following an old, beaten path, that winds off into the distance, and it's beginning to grow dark, you only have about one hour of light, definitely not enough time to get there...

Male Dwarf lvl 5 cleric of Angradd

"I say we start looking for a place to setup a camp for the night." Valak says as he starts to pay particular attention to the surroundings as they walk looking for a decent camping spot.
1d20 ⇒ 19 For any perception check

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

As you walk you come by many clearings that would suit your needs for a camp, but after about five more minutes of walking, you come by a clearing, that is about twenty feet from a small slithering stream...

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

I would reluctantly agree with the dwarf, though the dark would be a minor inconvenience to me. I am more wary with the danger that night brings.

Male Halfling Bard 1

Davik smiles and nods, almost dancing off in the direction of the clearing.

Feena follows the group into the clearing as she begins to look for a spot for her tent near the stream. Perhaps we should set up some watches tonight. The few animals I have seen is a little disheartening. almost as if something is driving them off. I would recommend that Badang take a watch during the darkest part of the evening due to his excellent vision.

Male Dwarf lvl 5 cleric of Angradd

"I'll not trust my safety to an orc." Valak declares. "I will share the watch with Badang, mine own eyes are as good as his in the dark." Valak walks off as if it is already settled.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

As if I would do the same. Badang retorts back, loud enough so Valak would not have difficulty in hearing.

I would not mind which portion of the watch I would undertake as I do not have any special requirements. Perhaps I would lay my bedding as far as possible indeed from the dwarf.

Male Halfling Bard 1

"Alright, well if you have watches covered, I think I'll take first sleep." He winks and begins setting out his bedding.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

As night dwindles, you all set up a bed, and fall to sleep, waking every now and then. Badang falls aslee during his watch, but luckily nothing came. At the crack of dawn you all wake, feeling somewhat rested.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Badang stands up with a start, before he digs in and begins to consume some breakfast pilfered from yesterday's repast.

Belly filled, he waits for the rest to ready before continuing on.

Feena rises as she pulls a ration out of her pack and begins to munch on it. She begins to pack up her gear and suit up while she continues to eat.

"Come on boys," she shouts as she finishes the last bites of food,"we've got a full day ahead of us. Can't have you lot sleeping in."

Male Halfling Bard 1

Davik rolls over and looks at Feena groggily, "Uh...5 more minutes mommy..."

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

I think Zirkals gone... Shiuld I replace him? No, I'll keep your numbers down...

You all notice, it seems Zirkal had left in the middle of the night, without a trace, Badang you also notice two days of rations missing from your stockpile...

Male Dwarf lvl 5 cleric of Angradd

Valak gives Davik a not too subtle "wake up" call with his foot. "Up and at 'em, last I checked, your mommy wasn't here." He then proceeds to eat his breakfast. "Damn elf, even more untrustworthy than an orc! Bah, I don't see how he would have helped in battle, he didn't even carry a weapon!" He says around a mouthful of food.

Male Halfling Bard 1

Davik frowns as he rolls over and looks at the dwarf. "You woke me in the middle of the most excellent dream." He gets up very slowly and proceeds to roll up his bedding and put his pack back together.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Well little man, perhaps you could continue your dream the next time we rest. But not today when there's a job to do. Life is too short to be lying too much on our backs.

He looks for the map and once found studies it.

I would rather we got there today if possible.

Male Halfling Bard 1

The halfling regards the half-orc with contempt, but says nothing.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

After you are all up, you quickly get back on the trail, you figure its only an hour walk from here...

Well it appears that we are almost there. Does anyone here have any experience with ruins?

Male Dwarf lvl 5 cleric of Angradd

Valak tries to remember anything from his studies regarding the ruins. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 knowledge history check.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

Valak, you recall that these ruins have been closed for centuries, therefore little is known of them

Male Halfling Bard 1

Davik is spacing out as he walks with the group. His mind seems to be wandering far off. He nearly bumps into Feena as they approach the ruins.

Feena sighs as Davik almost bumps into her. She then makes it a habit to have him in front of her or to the side.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

You begin to see the tower in the distance, with a at least 20 feet clearing around it, also having small bits of debris and such, rising a good ways to the sky, the side closest to you is almost completely collapsed, while the interior is filled with rubble, there are also multiple cracks in the earth leading to the tower. As you stare at the tower, you all become aware of a loud snarling, somewhat close to you....

Should I roll your initiative, or have you do it?

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Better for the game master to roll. Just one is enough and modify according to out initiative mod.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

1d20 ⇒ 7

Feena 10
Badang 9
Davik 9
Valak 8
????

Feena your up

Feena draws her sword and calls out to everyone to look out while she scans the area.

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

Sorry, I forgot about saying they revealed themselves

Three mangy, starved wolves jump out of the bushes, with a growl, battle ensues!

how far?

Liberty's Edge

Half-Elf

They are fairly close, about 10 feet away from the group itself...

Feena draws her sword as she charges the nearest wolf.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
