(A little brainstorming 'cause I know Flux's new to the system)
If you're not sure how to interact with a given scene, Assessing the Situation can be a good way of figuring out what you can use to push forward with what you'd like to do. Or... **quickly scans Flux's sheet** using your Elemental Awareness could be an interesting way of getting information/unnerving previews of all the crazy experiments and defenses going on here in Reaver - if Bran/Bronwyn and Skuld ping weirdly to your biokinesis it could even be a way of merging the groups!
Or whatever! The great thing about Masks is that things tend to work out if you just go with what you think your character would do; we can always figure out the specific mechanics later (like with Brett's questionably threatening status)

And the winner goes to Bronwyn! Apparently, my neighbors decided to switch to Verizon, and the Verizon techs cut our lines! And since you cannot set up a temp line over sidewalks without city permits, it took about a week for us to get service again. I'm back, and ready to roll- and this won't happen again (hopefully)!

Hey, I had a rules interpretation question. I know as written the moves are typically performed directly by the character of the player using them, but with the nature of Flux's powers, would it be possible for him to "channel" his action through another character?
For example, could he "Directly Confront a Threat" by allowing Apex to hulk out temporarily against a foe they were both fighting, or "Unleash his Powers" to extend the senses by allowing Thor Girl to see additional spectrums of light?
On the one hand, this seems like it might be covered by the Boost move. On the other hand, since that move only gives a +1, it feels like Flux making the move (and the roll) might better represent dramatic changes made with his power.
From my reading of the rules,
I'm going to say that really isn't possible. When you guys have team, he can "help" a teammate with their attempt at doing something, perhaps give them a temporary ability for them to use to narratively do something, but he would either be giving them a team to their roll or unleashing his own power.
From the description of the room my guess is no, but since we've seen that they aren't entirely tech based, are there any magical auras present that would draw Bran's eye?
Awaiting the resolution of Thor Girl's windstorm and Flux's response before finding out if I cleared a condition, though after Scythe's strike it seems likely I'll be marking afraid again :p
Oh, and since the PvP versions of moves aren't always as obvious, I'll call out that Defend doesn't just automatically protect someone from a PC threat on a hit, but it does impose a -2 to their roll when used reactively.
Aaaand this is what I meant about us not all having the same goals :p

I was thinking about throwing in a Defend roll against Skuld to reaaally over-complicate things, but that a) seems like too many things for Bran to be doing at once and b) wouldn't actually have any impact on the, well, impact.
So let's see: We've got Thor Girl battling Scythe, while Bran attempts to lessen her pains/free her from her handlers.
Bran's got a nasty chest wound, Apex is having no luck restoring power (and may be about to electrocute himself), there's the echo of a baleful ghost that's just been (perhaps foolishly) freed from its prison, and strange black lightning gathering in Skuld's stormclouds.
What's Flux up to?
Wow, this is a neat fight. I'm waiting, though, to give Apex and Flux a chance to get in on this.
Since it's been two weeks since his last post, and he's been active in other games, unless someone's heard otherwise it might be prudent to assume our Nova's burned out...

If we're still using Wingblade's mentor's base as HQ does that mean we have to hang out at Reaver Industries now? Cuz that could be... awkward.
I'm going to have to talk with Default about the possibilities of having two mentors fighting for custody.

Happy to tweak! No real surprise here, I'm sure, but Scythe is important as a character to Bran/Bron even with Wingblade's reappearance. Making a point to Shayera aside, it would have felt wrong not to try to get her out of the rubble, especially while she could have been actually hurt.

Wow.
You guys stepped up to keep the game going when I was gone, real nice work. And some super intense moments to boot.
A few things:
1. I believe we've lost Flux, and our ever-growing list of retired characters continues. Not to worry though, this game is definitely for some folks and not others.
2. After that whole scene, I'm letting everyone take a free advancement. You've earned it.
3. This is my plug for a superhero web serial called WORM. If you haven't read it and you like intense teen superhero stuff, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Just make sure you don't have anything pressing in the next couple weeks. It will ensnare you into obsession.
4. Though I suspect you're all ready to move on, feel free to write up a small scene about your character (no interactions with other characters please!) in order to give some more focus to your personal life outside of superheroing activities. Anything from shopping at the mall, a morning run, friday night at the game store, or anything mundane you can think of. Anyone who does so gets a potential.
I need to process all these developements, and may be sending you all messages to get how your character is thinking or asking for things you'd like to see.
But seriously guys, great work.
Oh, and should we go fishing for another player? We do have 4 which is the min I'd like at least...but not sure if anyone has someone to recommend or if we should stay at four for now.

I've got a plan for the solo character scene, but I'm not sure if I can get it done until Monday. Maybe I'll surprise myself, though.
As for adding another player, I'm in favor of it. Though, I'll understand anyone else's reluctance since we've gone through so many already. But hopefully there'll be another someone out there with a great idea that can add to the game. That being said, I'm looking forward to interacting with Apex for real!

I've been meaning to get Bronwyn to church, so I'll try to get that solo scene up today.
As for a new player, I think a fifth would be good. Might be worth checking in with some of the earlier applicants to see if they're still interested.
I'm going to write a scene involving Skuld sending a communication home, but it will probably be later this week.
For the advancement, I'm taking the Choose Four More Resources from your 'Mentor,' but with a twist. ;-)
I've already got a hidden base, communicators, and security systems. I'm taking the supercomputer, chem lab and a med lab from my new 'dad.' Then I'm thinking that Whip will actually be able to obtain badges of authority so the Team can function openly.
How does that sound?
Whippoorwill's incredible discomfort is all of us right now lol.
Also, I was thinking of clearing Guilty, both from the sacrifice of going along with Whippoorwill's plan in order to protect Wingblade's happiness, and from giving up another piece of her privacy in confession so that she can get some (literal) absolution.

I was planning my post before I saw Bronwyn's. But I am inordinately pleased with the symmetry of Bronwyn going to church and confession at the same time as Wingblade is being tempted by the devil.
For the advance, I rearranged my labels.
Also, looking back, I was hoping I could clear Afraid since I ran away from... well multiple things, but mostly the fight.

I just request you guys try and focus on a "return to normalcy." Let's be honest, this game went from 1 to 100 pretty darn quickly and its stayed there for good while. Your characters are teens, and while they've dealt with enough s!+* to warrant some PDST counseling, I want to see them have fun. Lower stakes, but important stuff for teens. Heck, get the family involved and expand your story. Gives me more stuff to work with as well.

Okay, I've got a few... low-stakes might not be the word, but at least low-trauma things on my "Scenes to see" list:
Apex meeting up with the Team. Since we've already seen a scene of him figuring out how to contact us, it might be more interesting to have him make the first move rather than Whippoorwill find him. Also as a sub-thing of that, Apex learning that Bronwyn is Bran's Acolyte/Gal-in-the-Chair.
Skuld and Marco's RomCom duel?!
(Treading perhaps too close to trauma-turf, but I think that part can be primarily just ominous foreshadowing) Seeing Shayera's new swag
I'd like to actually get in a track meet scene, but everything I've got is very soliloquy-ish, so I may forgo that one until there's a bit more daylight between it and the GIGANTIC CONFESSION POST OF DOOM :p
That said, if anyone else does have fun ideas for how their character could be involved there, I'd much rather run with it as a group scene.
Oh, and as you consider the search for a 5th, it might be worth reaching out to Philo Pharynx aka Triad from your Mutants & Masterminds game. He's got familiarity with at least one other Apocalypse engine system, and I like his writing.

How totally not unnerving....
Well, despite the lengthy site outage, Apex and I touched base on a way for a Bronwyn track scene to have stakes for people who aren't her, so I'll get that kicked off later today (others are of course welcome to join that one.)
Since it'll probably make sense to try to get multiple scenes progressing around the same time, are we good with just dropping in tags at the start?
i.e.
"But how are we supposed to give her the amnesia to see who can do 50 First Dates better? Also, we shouldn't give her amnesia!"

Tried to leave space for Wingblade and Thor Girl to declare that they're at the meet, whether to cheer Bronwyn on or ogle her in short shorts/inform Marco (who's also there and competing) of the terms of their duel. But of course, if that's not the right setting, no harm no foul.
