Thurrios the Forgiving |
"It would seem that while the priests could not protect their treasure with their lives, they were able to protect it with the Dawnflower's magic. Without the key, we shall not be opening that door, and even with the key, we might be fools to do so, lest the Pactmasters kill us and take the treasure, whatever it may be."
Julius Pa'jer |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Julius gives Thurrios a quizzical look when he states the door was closed with "Dawnflower's magic", but he says nothing.
"Thurrios is surprisingly correct regarding our current ability to get past this door."
He stands and turns in a circle. Not seeing any other passage, Julius gestures to those who came behind him and Narkû.
"Well, about face. Everyone who needs it get some red armor and let's get that Pathfinder back to camp. Before we return though, let's agree to keep the contents of this temple a secret for now. It may not do to tip our hand in the knowledge something the Pactmasters may wish kept secret might have been revealed to us."
Narkû |
"Narkû can keep quiet. Remember Narkû can Infiltrationate'."
After climbing back up the stairs, Narkû will gather up a couple of sets of armor to carry back to camp.
Thurrios the Forgiving |
"In fact, I recommend none of us take back this armor just now. Best not to tip our hands at what we found here. We can better query Almah then. And no discussing it in front of the other Pathfinder, until we know more" he says as he glares at the other Agents of the Society.
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
"I will not lie" he says straight faced
"If asked directly i will not tell untruths"

Julius Pa'jer |
"You glare with too much accusation, sir Furious," Julius says with an exaggerated roll of his eyes.
"Sadly, keeping secrets from other Pathfinders is one of our own best internal practices. Fairly well known, in fact. But I'm sure they didn't teach that in 'Dawnflower Magic 101', so you may not have heard."
Julius glances over at Sarala and shakes his head. Assuming everyone goes back up the stairs, he follows up and out of the stairway.
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
"I speak when i have to. During a fight there is no reason to talk. But very well. You do not wish for me to speak... i will not"
He nods

Julius Pa'jer |
Julius laughs—quietly, there's still danger after all!—and says to the ifrit. "You do know I refer to once we arrive back in camp, correct? Not while we're out here infiltrationing. Feel free to sing if you desire. As long as it doesn't bring any gnolls on our heads, I declare you vocally free."
Julius Pa'jer |
Think you're misreading things, Mr. Mahorfeus. Julius suggested anyone who wants/needs some armor to grab it then Thurrios suggested none at all. Pretty sure no one is suggesting everyone grab a bunch of armor beyond necessity...
Sarala |
"Yeah, I mean, I'll tell Julius pretty much anything, 'cause we're all about gossip, but Pheliped? I don't even know how to spell his name, so he's not gonna be privvy to my vast collection of secrets." Sarala makes a locking gesture towards her head. "No reason to mistrust us on this, anyway, 'cause if the Pactmasters are going to want to kill us over knowing too much, our Wayfinders aren't going to act as some kind of defence against getting our throats slit in the dead of night or anything."
To Anapa she says, "Well, maybe you can just say, 'I would prefer not to talk about it' and put on a haunted expression. The statement is probably true, and expressions don't have a truth value. Like if I do this..." She puts both of her hands on her face and opens her mouth wide in surprise! "I'm not lying about anything. Something to think about."
She heads back up the stairs as she speaks, leaning against the wall outside the door when she gets out.

lets move on

Mahorfeus |
Turning away from the mysterious sealed door, the party decides to leave the armor of the dead Pactmaster Guardsmen behind for the time being. With the coast clear, you leave through the way you came, intent on retreating from the village. As you leave the building however, a chill runs down your spines, and from the corners of your eyes there is a flicker of movement.
A figure dressed in orange and yellow robes - much like those worn by the skeletons within the church, except brand new - passes right by you, moving in the direction of the cemetery. Its hands are held together and its head is bowed down, as though in prayer. The figure seems to take no notice of your group, continuing on its way.
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
Once again the ifrit says a small prayer in ancient osirian, when his eyes opens, pitch black as he looks at the man who crossed their path
Detect evil. Well. If he does have the same as the skeletons... and the temple was desecrated. He sure as heck not gona trust him

"You there! Priest! We would like to have a word with you if possible!" he calls out. And to his team
"Be careful, he is not what he seems."

Narkû |
Narkû whispers back, "Is it not a priest of Sarenrae?"

Current Effects: Whetstone edge on falchion and scimitar, +1 damage on next successful hit;
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
"A priest? Maybe. Of Sarenrae? Certainly not, he or she radiates evil. So be careful."
Sarala |
"A spooky ghost, maybe? That reminds me that we should tell scary stories when we get back to the caravan!" whispers Sarala to Julius, before she nods to the others and starts following the figure towards the cemetary.
Mahorfeus |
The priest initially seems to ignore Anapa, continuing on its way. You follow him around the church, finding that he now stands before a large column in the center of the cemetery. At the top of the ten-foot column is a statue of a familiar angelic woman, her arms raises to the heavens - the goddess Sarenrae herself. In the shadow of this statue are five graves, marked by life-sized statues of holy warriors. The smell of rot and decay seems to fill graveyard.
Slowly, the priest turns around to face you; a smile marks his dark-skinned, handsome face.
"Welcome to my church," he says with a grin, his voice deep and jovial.
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
"This is no church. What do you think you are doing here?" he meets the stranger's gaze head on
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
"I do not think you are being honest with us. I suggest you tell us what you are up to this time of night, dressed like that, in a cemetery?"
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
my bad.... sorry. Probably cause its 10:30pm here
He does nothing. He simply looks at the so called priest
"I do not think you are what and who you say you are"

Narkû |
Narkû taps Anapa on the shoulder and whispers, "Maybe he knows what happened inside the church? And why does it smell so bad around here?

Julius Pa'jer |
Julius is impressed that something has finally drawn a responsive and proactive attitude from the oddly heritaged paladin. He holds his tongue for now waiting to see what is going to happen.
He casually draws a javelin however. No need to be too patient.
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
"You are hiding something from us. I would like to know what your intentions are in the graveyard. I hope it is not to desecrate the rest of those layed down here? "

Anapa gives a very small nod

Julius Pa'jer |
Julius nods much more pronounced than Anapa did and has a self-satisfied look. Leaning over to Sarala, next to whom he stands, the arcanist whispers, "See? Studying magic in all its forms helps one recognize things that are normally reserved for the god-blesseds' intuition."
Narkû |
Narkû nods also, so not to be left out of the nodding festivities.
Maybe Narkû should make little people with nodding heads to sit on wagon seats, Narkû thinks as he watches the others.

Julius Pa'jer |
Julius' expression turns into a pout. "Well, if you're just going to be all funny about it...after all, just because things were ruined doesn't mean the holy energy would have been tainted! I was just excited about being correct..."
Sarala |
Sarala reaches to pat the arcanist on the head, "There, there. I get what you mean, I'm not really attuned to holy or unholy energy or anything like that the way you fellows might be. And it's good for you that you can celebrate the times that you are correct."
Mahorfeus |
"I have always been here. This is my home," the priest says unhelpfully, his voice growing increasingly menacing. At Anapa's question, he looks to the five graves once more. "Desecrate? Surely not. I am merely honoring the greatest heroes of Kelmarane." With a sudden crazed glint in his eyes, he staggers forward, taking a single step toward you. "Perhaps I, Halruun, shall feed them your souls?"
For the sake of simplicity, I will just omit Marossa from this combat; you can assume her Inspire Courage is up.
Anapa: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Julius: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Narku: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Sarala: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Thurrios: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Halruun: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
>Halruun, Narku, Thurrios, Anapa, Julius, Sarala
The dark blotches on the map represent the walls of the church, the statue of Sarenrae, and the five gravestones; this is all impassable terrain. I arranged your icons in the usual formation, but go ahead and let me know if you want a different starting position - then I'll post Halruun's action.
Julius Pa'jer |
..................
Okay, that's lie.
Javelin of Weird Priest Bane (not really): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
A savage sigh comes from the arcanist as his javelin flies wide. Glancing around at his comrades, Julius shrugs and says, "Yeah, I know. One day, I promise I'll hit something with one of those."
Narkû |
I am fine with Narkû starting position, but he does get an immediate action when initiative is rolled and he gets 11+ on the die. Narkû can move up to his base speed (20') and is not considered flat footed. This is an ability of the Order of the Flame Cavalier build.
Narkû senses the opponent getting twitchy and makes a Foolhardy Rush forward.
Immediate action: Narkû moves to R9 (20')
