As I've said before, I am terrible at keeping track of loot. That said, I went back and added a few things to my character sheet:

* the composite longbow (loot from the Salt Works that I'd asked for but never took possession of)
* the 200 gp the loot sheet says we were all to be paid out after the Livery
* the vial of antitoxin Paqshari gave us
* the morningstar (it isn't there as I type this, but I'll rectify ASAP)

If there's any other money or gear I've definitely got coming my way, I don't know it. In looking at the loot sheet, I didn't see the cache of potions we got from the Brassvanes' house (but I might have overlooked that).

I hope everyone's doing okay, and have a happy holiday of whatever flavor floats your boat!

I honestly didn't keep track of anything because I figured that if we continued playing after this side adventure, the old GM would continue running the game and probably wouldn't let us keep the extra loot.

If you know of anything in particular that we got, especially that we didn't divvy up, let me know and I'll add it to the loot sheet.

Dom, charge is a full round action. This is a surprise round, everyone gets a move or standard.


A limited form of charge is in fact permitted in a surprise round, in which case you can only move up to your speed.

(It is, right? I'm not in some post holiday stress hallucination, am I?)

Derp, you are right. Forgot about the partial charge rule

If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can’t use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.

I was just looking at the NPC document. Is Falbrand actually dead? I didn't see any indication to that effect. I'd like the opportunity to help him reunite with that bullying jackhole brother of his.

As per this post ("gone" = "dead"), Falbrand is no more/has ceased to be/has expired and gone to meet his maker/etc.

An Idea, For Your Consideration

I'm weighing whether or not I want to deal with Appraise checks as they apply to recovered treasures. In truth, it's time-consuming, and no one in this group has sunk any ranks into it. However, Laria Longroads has a +7 bonus on Appraise checks, which got me to thinking....

How about the Silver Ravens make it a habit of running all their finds by Laria and having their halfling friend make all the Appraise checks? I figure I could make the rolls in secret, adding in a couple of Aid Anothers from two PC Ravens to try to bump up Laria's accuracy. (Right now, it looks like Davina [+3] and Leora [+2] would be the best assistants.)

Sound good?

That works. I'd throw a rank at it, but between Gardener, Carpentry, and anything else that catches my eye my BG skills will be well acounted for (Dom will be a very multitalented revolutionary).

A Quick Heads-Up

I did some XP tallying today and see you guys are approximately 2/3 of the way to 3rd level. Also, you guys will likely get an organizational boon when we run the weekly Upkeep & Actions. This brings both a title and a bonus feat (see spoiler below). It's not too early to be thinking ahead!

Title: Guardian:

With the title of Guardian at rank 4, each PC gains one of the following as a bonus feat: Alertness, Deceitful, Persuasive, or Stealthy.

The next few minor missions expect the PCs to be at 2nd level, but if you folks level early I might beef up the challenge of any remaining missions.

On one hand, Alertness seems like the no-duh choice; Perception and Sense Motive. But I'll be honest, I'm looking at Deceitful. I have the image in my head of a room full of villains chortling at their evilness, when suddenly one of them does the old-school Mission Impossible-style "peel off the full face mask" move, and suddenly it's Dukkan, ready to kick ass.

Looks like you folks are on top of the situation: Dropping bodies into the river is a nearby and probably efficient mode for eliminating incriminating corpses. For those wanting to dump the bodies at night but not wanting to risk getting caught outside after curfew, there may be an option: The building just west of Clenchjaw's is (now, by GM decree) the Old Bridgeside Inn, a slightly run-down, average-quality establishment.

I also made a sort of grim discovery that works against the body-dumping plan, however. See those eight little square towers along the sides of the Bleakbridge (on page 18 of the HR Player's Guide)? They're all dottari guard posts! Plan accordingly.

Absolutely. As T'chazzar said, we so don't want to be anywhere near the joint if, having missed a check-in, the disappearance of those two triggers more Asmodean activity.

By contrast I think we need to dispose of the bodies now, because if we leave and the Asmodeans come to look for their folks who didn't check in, if they find bodies they will use speak with dead.

Any specific first level cleric spells you think would be handy to have in scroll form? I think Dom had a specific request, but I can't remember which spell. Planning on doing a couple scrolls of magic weapon, liberating command, obscuring mist, air bubble, comprehend languages, endure elements, and stunning barrier in that general order.

Protection from evil is good in case of running into demons or devils or mind controlling evil entities.

Shield of faith lasts for a minute even if at caster level 1.

Remove fear, perhaps.
