Krojun Hora |
Now with Eudonius there to help him Krojun lashes out after the element again but his sword bounces harmless of it's rocky armour.
Attacking the element I am flanking with Eudonius
Attack, longsword, element: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

RUNNING three, Trace. I'm currently playing in 11 others. Posting to games as a player doesn't take nearly as long as putting together a single GMing post, especially when maps are involved. I can assure everybody, my slowness is totally the result of work overload. My enthusiasm, commitment, and interest in this game is undiminished. During the school year, I rely on being able to post from work. Paizo.com isn't blocked again this year (YAY!), but any time I sit down at my desk to post, I have sixteen work things that I have to get done first. But the end of the overload is in sight.
Dublaine, suddenly finding himself blind, surrenders to the pair of Varisians. Eudonius and Krojun both flail uselessly at the earth elementals, while Grigory nearly breaks his hand trying to sap the third Varisian and having his hand fly high over his head and smash into the building wall. The elementals continue to pound on the foundation stones. Cracks start to appear, and the walls above begin to sway slightly. Furthermore, on all your minds is the image of Lady Trace hurling herself into the night over the cliff, with no knowledge of her fate.
Dublaine, blinded, suddenly feels pain in his gut as the breath is slammed out of him by a gauntleted fist. The other Varisian slams his foot into the back of the elf's knee, and he crashes to the ground, his rapier wrested forcefully from his hand. "Stay down!" he's ordered.
Grigory notices a fourth Varisian, this time an older woman in full gypsy regalia making her way purposefully along the street towards the scuffle out front of Rimblesnuffin's.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Suddenly, Dublaine hears a whiz of a some sort of projectile in the air above him, and one of the Varisians cries out in pain and anger. A warm wetness splatters over Dublaine's skin.

By the way, elementals are immune to flanking, so no +2 bonuses there. Sorry, guys.
Nazard |
I sent Grigory a PM in case he had lost his dot, and he hasn't responded. I hope we haven't lost him. I'll bot for now.
Somehow, I missed the third Varisian (the one attacking Grigory). I guess he missed.
Grigory swings his sap again.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
And gives the man a nice goose egg on his right temple.

Laughing at the half-orc's comment Krojun lashes out with his longsword towards the elemental.
"Where are the others? We could use some help down here?" He manages to ask as the fight the elementals.
Attack on elemental: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Nazard |
The elementals ignore Krojun, concentrating on the wall.
"Get him," Dublaine hears one of the Varisians growl, and footsteps pound cobblestones across the street. Another bolt whistles through the air and shatters against the building.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Dublaine feels and hears the other Varisian taking cover behind him, using him as an elven shield.

Dublaine |
Dublaine attempted to grapple the man, hoping to offset the disadvantage of being blind as an excuse for panic and using that to tangle the man up.
"What...what have you done to my eyes, I can't see. Help me!" He shouts as he attempts to stop the man from using him as a human shield.
Eudonius Lynch |
Percept: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Pressing on his attack the half orc tries to listen for his friends outside.
I dont know, can you hear anything? Dublaine spotted something, I think. But the summoner escaped I am sure. Lady Trace... I think she is gone.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Dmg: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 2) + 7 = 11
Bite: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Round 9
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
With a worried grin Krojun answers "I cant hear anything over these stone creatures. Is Tarce really gone?"
Atk:: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Dmg:: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Apparently all the talking makes Krojuns aim off and he misses the elemental yet again.
Grigory Reinhold |
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Nazard |
Grigory and Krojun both fail to connect with their targets. The elementals continue to assault the foundations. The building is definitely in trouble now.
Round 10
Topside, Dublaine can hear someone pounding on a door across the street, trying to break it down. From the direction, he guesses it's the cafe.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Another bolt whizzes by Dublaine's cheek, slicing into the Varisian. Dublaine hears the Varisian move away around the corner of the building. For the moment, he doesn't hear anybody right next to him.

Dmg: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14
Bite: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Dmg: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
She jump of the cliff trying to grab the summoner and failed. I dont see how she could be alive, its a 200 ft drop. Eudonius say with sadness. Foolish women. Damn s#%£& noble...
Nazard |
Trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Dublaine hits the ground hard.
Eudonius manages to drive his sword through the injured elemental, sending dust and debris everywhere, which quickly vanishes.
One down, one to go!
Grigory's up!
Grigory Reinhold |
Grigory, curious as to why his assailant has been distracted and hoping for better luck connecting with his sap, swings at the Varisian yet again.
Damage (nonlethal): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Nazard |
Ha! I forgot him again! :P
Grigory misses again with his sap, finding the Varisian too nimble and light on his feet. Down below, Krojun scores a minor hit on the remaining elemental.
The Varisian gets his head out of the clouds and lunges at Grigory.
Rapier attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
The rapier tip deflects harmlessly off Grigory's armour.
Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 4 - 4 = 10
Another crossbow bolt smashes into the jewelry store.
Will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"Veristan! I know you are here!" a woman's voice with a Varisian accent cries out. "Show yourself, you double-crossing snake, before we kill all of your lackeys here."

Dubaline, on hearing the woman shout out suddenly twigged on something. Shout in her direction he said, "Wait, we are working for the city MSI staff, we are not working for but hunting the Varsian causing this destruction. Hear me, we are City Police.
And with that Dublaine fumbled around feeling for his badge to flash in the woman's direction.

"If you're after the summoner, he jumped over the cliff," Grigory shouts. "One of our officers leapt after him, the rest of us were less eager to fall to our deaths."
"I'd drop that rapier if I were you, unless you want another bruise to the head and a night or two in shackles," he tells the nearest foe.
I'll hold my sap attack until I see whether he attacks me again or puts down his weapon.
Nazard |
Down below, the elemental pounds the stones again. There's a nasty crack, and Grigory notices cracks starting to spiderweb up the wall.
The Varisian in front of him spits. "Filthy Copper!" he curses and lunges at Grigory again (your readied attack goes first, though).
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Assuming Grigory doesn't knock him out, the man's rapier finds an opening in Grigory's armour, drawing blood.
Dublaine hears the man behind him pull out and load a crossbow. He also hears the sound of splintering wood across the street.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
A woman cries out in pain as a crossbow bolt whizzes from across the street.
Attack 2: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Another crossbow bolt whiz, and this time a man's cry of pain.
Dublaine is up.
Nazard |
As Krojun comes topside, he sees Grigory dealing with something, his sap in hand. He has 10 feet of movement left, so I'll assume he heads in that direction.

Eudonius is still down in the cellar. 30 feet of movement will bring him up to D8.
Dublaine |
Dublaine still unable to see, can't a make a saving throw or something? shouted out to the others.
"If anyone can hear me I've been blinded somehow. But I can hear someone screaming across the street. I think they have some sort of mage, it might be her."
Dublaine might be blind but he didn't have to be useless.
Nazard |
Sorry, Dublaine. No further saving throws, and the duration is permanent (until you get it healed). Blindness/deafness is a nasty second level spell. In the parallel game, it was the gnome bard who got nailed with it, and he's not liking it any more!
Eudonius can certainly hear Dublaine's cry. The more Dublaine thinks on it, though, it seems like the cry belongs to Peora Copperhill, the cafe owner who gave you shelter.
Eudonius Lynch |
Taking a deep breath the half orc runs up the stairs and out of the back of the building looking after the screams.
If i cant run i will double move which should take me outside at the backdoor of the building or near it.
Nazard |
Bad news, all. My two-year-old seems to have flushed my gaming flash drive (with all my maps) down the toilet (literally). I have back-ups, of course, but they're woefully out of date. We're actually pretty close to the end of this battle, so are folks okay with going without maps for the remainder?
Eudonius, a double move would take you to B10.
Is Grigory just manacling his unconscious Varisian this round? It'll take a full round to do that.
Krojun, 50 feet of movement will take him to H4. From there, he sees a Varisian woman inside the patio of the cafe across the street, using the wooden railing as a bit of cover. The front door to the cafe is open, and he just catches sight of a man, similarly dressed to Grigory's friend, heading inside. He has 10 feet of movmeent left to go whichever direction you wish.
Grigory Reinhold |
Good. Guess we don't have to stress about the building crushing us all to bits. Sounds like Dublaine's been blinded by something out in front of the store where all the action is. I'm just getting ready to cuff this joker to this railing so we can question him when he comes to.
I'll spend the round cuffing him to the railing of the stairs behind Rimblesnuffin's.
Sorry to hear about the computer. My little one is crawling like a maniac, but no trail of destruction so far.
