Heh, after the Advanced Race Guide came out, I really wanted to switch a couple of Koraq's racial traits around, including switching to one of my favorite weapons, the Sansetsukon (which I'm trying to get my sifu to teach me).
Figured that may be a bit much for right now, especially since I'm sure that the 3 of us in the basement are currently trapped -_-
More reason to stop the elementals before the place goes down!
I'm fine with alterations still at this point, but unsure why you think he won't have enough Dex for two-handed fighting. Did you mean two-weapon fighting, or are you planning on ditching the shorts word and just using dwarven war axe?
I meant you need dex 19 to get Greater Two-Weapon Fighting (and dex 17 for Improved Two-Weapon Fighting) but since you hit and damage on strength, improving Str makes more sense than improving dex imo. The Two-Weapon Warrior archetype is just a slightly more focused version of the fighter class (which is better all things considered imo), but when I found it I considered it very flavourful for Barin, that's why I'm asking, considering it starts to diverge from fighter at lvl 3.
Anyway, sure, we'll discuss this if we survive this battle and please don't feel obliged to do anything. It's just a minor thing, if you decide characters should stay as they are I would understand.
Barin, you do not need to select an archetype until the archetype replaces one of your class abilities. Thus for the Two-Weapon Warrior, you can actually wait on declaring you're a Two-Weapon Warrior until you become level 3. Meanwhile, for me to declare myself as a Urban Barbarian, I had to do that at creation since the archetype replaces several level 1 abilities.
Thus, right now you can call yourself a Two-Weapon Warrior, but you aren't actually one (and can change your mind and go to another archetype if it's legal at that point) until level 3 when you get Defensive Flurry.

Ooops... I guess I'm just a rookye then! :D
The original plan with Barin was to make him into a shield master (as for the feat) in order to have 1 more attack and also great AC, but then I became conflicted when I saw the two-weapon warrior. It could still work with the archetype, but since medium shields are not considered light weapons he will lose quite a bit of potential damage. Anyway we'll see along the road... IF we survive that much!
@ Rasil: No matter! kill them all with your pointy wit! The pen is mighter than the sword they say after all (but only if the pen is question is reeeeeeally sharp and the sword a bit dull imo...)

Oi! I'm a gnome! I can cast that 1/day as a spell-like ability!
Gnome Magic:
Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against illusion spells that they cast. Gnomes with a Charisma of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation, and speak with animals. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome's level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the gnome's Charisma modifier.
Besides, I plan on picking it up at 2nd level (if we live that long). :)
Ha ha! Thanks for your patience all (well, some of you [/pointed looks]). Just dealing with wrapping up summer and starting a new job. New post forthcoming.
Sorry, all. I'm still here, I really am. I have posting access at work (which is nice), but every time I get a moment to just sit at the computer, I have sixteen things in front of me.
It will slow down soon, I promise (it has to, or I'll have plenty of time to post from the loony bin).
Out of curiosity, was this the first time we got xp or did you award xp recompenses for the social gaming and puzzle solving we did before this encounter, Nazard?
With this campaign, I use leveling points. Removes the temptation for players to go looking for trouble (xp), and the trouble for me to calculate it.
However, in my adventure write up, each "encounter" (social, combat, and puzzle) have CRs and xp amounts, to make sure that they add up to the write amount for a level gain at the appropriate time.
When I do go straight xp rewards, I include lots for story and RP, about as much as combat.
If it feels like it's taking awhile, that's because pbp is slow in that regard, and I haven't been doing the best job keeping the game moving.
lol, Nazard, you are doing a good job as far as I'm concerned.
RL always takes precedence over games that's a given, no one can fault you for doing your job well!
