I swear I posted this yesterday.

Aishe's bolt flies through the air with a slight whistle before piercing the woven hammock. The woman shouts a curse as she reflexively drops the bag to he ground. It hits the stone with a thud and turns over, spilling out a few vials of swirling alchemist fire and a hand crossbow.

Still laying in her hammock, she attempts to swing out of the way of the fan of Gillian's flames as they approach. However, she overcompensates while doing so and ends up flipping out of the swinging hammock and face-first onto the floor where the cone of fire rushes over her full body. Tamiro seals her fate with a quick slice, sending her to a permanent rest.

We are out of rounds.

Neil's prisoner goes silent as all of this happens, showing no emotion. His face ashens as he looks over to the charred mutilated body of his once coworker.

Pulling herself up off of the ground, Nel drags the ashen faced drow to his feet. "Don't worry about it, Aishe. You've saved most of our hides right then." Turning her attention back to the shell-shocked captive, Nel sighs wearily, before bending to be eye level.

Shindiira of House Misraria, our leader, venerates Noticula, who grants her profane energy and lends her spells that let us dominate this world. Aishe eyes the crossbow bolts greedily. He feels guilty about it, but he very nearly snatches them up such is his excitement.

"So, uh, is everyone OK if I snag those bolts? Might be helpful in the fight to come." he tries to be casual...

He turns to Nel, "Sounds like it'll be a lot of spell chucking once we're in there. I'll try to focus my fire on this Misraria - take her down quickly so we have an open field against the others. If I can spy here out anyway."

He turns to the drow and asks, "Mistä tiedän hänet? Mitä tämä Misraria näyttää?"

"How will I know her? What does this Misraria look like?"

Aishe replenishes his quarrels, I need a better quiver than this. he thinks as he adds a few of the frosty bolts to his quiver. (assuming that’s cool)

He considers what he can bring to bear in the next fight, and steels himself for a tough one. ”I’m ready” he tells Nel. He assumes they’re going to kill their prisoner, and as painlessly as possible considering his helpfulness. But drow are drow and likely irredeemable. Where would he go? What could he do?

He holds his crossbow at the ready and waits patiently.

Wiping his blade down, he sheaths it and walks over to the others, "What is it saying? Anything useful? Hopefully it is...because we don't have another source of information now."

As the group readies themselves to continue their push deeper into the tunnels, Gillian thinks for a moment and then seems to reach a resolution to whatever she was mulling over. "The ward against evil that I was talking about," she explains as she weaves her magic over Nel and Tamiro. After a moment's hesitation she also does the same for Aishe.

"There. It won't last very long so we need to make the most of it," she explains. "Once the real fun begins, I'll put my magics to use in the more usual ways too."

Right before we 'kick in the door' Gillian will hit Nel, Tamiro, and Aishe each with Protection from Evil; good for 6 minutes. That should leave her with one 1st level slot left for Bless once the battle proper begins!

Several thick, rocky natural pillars rise up in this high sea cave. The water filling the lower portion of the enormous cavern sloshes and surges with the tide, and a five-foot-wide rocky beach lines the northeastern face of the pool. The cave ceiling soars to a height of eighty feet. To the south, several wooden platforms attacked to the rock pillars are further supported by wooden pilings - the structure looks somewhat treacherous. The sound of rushing, falling water comes from the northern end of the chamber, where a thin cascade of water plummets from a narrow crack in the ceiling into the pool below.

Now that I have five spare minutes in front of my computer, let me set the scene a little more. Then, I'll give Tamiro until later tonight to do his thing before botting him; holidays are busy, after all!

A tall woman with burning white eyes stands on one of the rock pillars, balancing steadily and staring down those that enter. Below, in the churning water, a huge dark shape moves below, not yet surfacing. It's clear that this is the orca that the man was talking about that this woman, who burns with zeal, is Shindiira.

"You know not what awaits you," Shindiira says in heavily accented common, "but this place will be your graveyard."

With that, she gives a quick yell to the men, a single word in undercommon whose meaning couldn't be more clear - "Attack!"

Tamiro's face splits into a wide grin as he rushes forward at the nearby fighter going to blue, pulling his katana as he shoulders past Nel. He ends with a slice across the drow's chest, causing the creature to double over for a moment.

Gillian steps forward in order to get a better view into the chamber ahead. The sounds of combat let her know that there are likely enemies to both sides of the entrance but she hopes that Tamiro and Nel can handle them while she sets her sights on the ones further in.

She smiles.

"Let's see how well you burn!" she cries as she sends a ball of flame speeding into the chamber towards the foes at the rear, which explodes and washes over them.

The water roils as the dark mass surfaces, turning from shadow into a black-and-white whale. The beast opens its mouth and lunges at Tamiro on the shore. Its jaws clamp around Tamiro and, for a brief second, he feels it take hold of him. With a struggle, he wrests himself free from its grasp and back on the shore, bruised and battered. 18 points of damage.

Wrinkling her nose at the situation, Nel moves to Tamiro's back, and hoping to block Aishe's unconscious form from harm. "تراجع" she snarls at the second drow, making two swift strikes at the goon. Finishing her attack, Nel watches the three casters with a wary gaze as they linger near the corners of the cave. "يرسل تحياته Kwava." she taunts at the three, as she makes a quick motion to clean her blade.

The fireball explodes around the purple-skinned man and his albino gecko; the gecko quickly ducks over the side of the rock formation to avoid the worst of the blast while the man takes the full force.

It's Weds, which means I'm at work-class-life stuff till 10 PM est. Update will be coming later. Nel can go ahead and take her turn; the orca's attack will be part of the evening update.

As far as things go: the ceiling is 60 ft from the water.

The ledge that Shindiira is on is 50 ft up from water level.

The ledge that Orthus is on is next to a cascading waterfall and is level with Shindiira's ledge. It's somewhat slippery, but not enough to require any sort of skill check to traverse. It's loud, though, and Orthus will take a -4 on perception checks that involve listening.

The platform on the shore is 10 ft up and reachable by ladder. The next platform is 15 ft up, and the largest platform is 15 ft up too. There's no easy way down from the platforms to the shore on the west side of the cavern except for a rope-and-pulley system.

The lightning bolt flashes across the cave. The orca avoids the brunt of the attack by diving under the waves, but the albino lizard takes the full attack. It freezes as the bolt hits it, a small scorch mark appearing on its chest. After a moment, it falls over and its legs twitch slightly. The man on the ledge attempts to call out, but looks with hurt and anger at Gillian as he realizes that his voice cannot get any purchase.

Xakihn

The man bristles and his shapes begins to transform; his nose enlarges and a tail whips from his breeches. The effect is horrifying as his body changes to be that of a lizard. The lizard opens its mouth in a silent hiss before crawling forward.

He crawls down the side of the rock formation he's standing on, jumping down into the water before he begins to swim past the orca.

Shindiira

Her eyes flare as Orthus comes into view.

"Take a swim," she shouts at him, magic infusing her words. She then jumps into the dark water herself, cushioning her fall with a spell..
