Not charging, i got reduced to zero hp last time. I'll be in soon enough, if this guys dead before i join in he's not tough enough.

Menas try not to make the dm angry, it usually ends in a tpk or "a dragon flys overhead and goes poop, makes a ref save dc 120 for half, dmg 90d6"
(Yes it has happened)

8 vs. 1 now, 1 a round not bad, though if I had gotten better rolls, it would have been 2 more down.

Lucendar, I've got an issue with the actions of the bad guy: there is a move action to get up, a 5 foot step (with a drawing of a blade) and an attack. That's one move too much in my opinion, but I may be wrong.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Sorry, i didn't realise i was making Lucendar angry? Not sure how that would have happened but if it did i apologise.

If i did could you pm me how so i know not to do it again?

Yes, my friend, you are wrong:

If you move no actual distance in a round (commonly because you have swapped your move action for one or more equivalent actions), you can take one 5-foot step either before, during, or after the action.

Everything legitimate, my players have done it thousands of times, in PbP and IRL.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

I think his point was about drawing the weapon, but the gnoll could have quick draw...

Oh, yeah, he's got Quickdraw. Not that I have to explain to players, but in the game, I did say he drew it with a flash to let you know he drew his weapon faster than you normally see.

I was thinking to pull a weapon you had to actually move, and not stand or take a 5 foot step. Not sure but checking.

He has the Quickdraw feat:

You can draw a weapon as a free action instead of as a move action.

F Tiefling 2CLR/ 1MNK

Menas, I did not intend to imply that he would be actually angry, but rather some gms feel challenged by such and decide to make things harder by a lot more then desired. Mostly intended as a jest with roots in exp.

Thanks for these explanations, Lucindar. I did not want to derail the game but in the game that I've played and DMed, we did not interpret the rules like that.

That said, with your explanations, I perfectly understand the move.

Well then, Gaza, My fate is in your hands.

And now the real fear is.. does he have step-up?!?!??!

Btw, TOUGHNESS SAVES!!

*Note: Please let GM get all the lethality out of his system in this game... as some of us are amidst(about to enter) combats and want to avoid his 'tender mercies'.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Heh, well as long as he doesn't poop on me! :p

(i think this gnoll will be challenging enough, i'm worried about his fast healing and weather we can overcome him without dying tbh)

I'll be double moving next round for position then getting into combat the round after, everyone needs to get into this mother though cause he's hitting like a truck.

Quain basicly has no option but to withdraw.

Cirnos wrote:

thats just mean!

Edit: Lucendar just sent me a "ner ner, i did more damage than you" PM :p

I didn't explain, just quoted the PRD.

You quoted the right part. :-)

Actually a lot of arguments on the boards about standing and then making a 5 foot adjust, but to me the RAW is pretty clear that it is allowed.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Standing up is a move action but you don't actually move, seems quite straightforward to me. I can see where the argument comes from but i'd allow it if it were my game.

If you could not move, everyone would play trippers with reach weapons then! A free AoO with +4 bonus, then no attack from your opponent and you can keep repeating the cycle, 5' step back and trip. No, rules are pretty clear.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

I think after that my plan for positioing has gone to the dogs and i'm gonna have to charge. This guy hits hard though, if i get spanked Gaza might save me again.

Male Half-Orc Per: +2 Init: +2; HP 7/9; AC 15/15/12; F: +4 R: +5 W: +5

Are you sure it's a gnoll and not a werewolf? The fast healing is not something I usually associate with gnolls.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Now you mention it i think werewolf, but my knowledge check was terrible.

Hopefully that crit dropped him or i'm gonna be on the end of a falchion and a bite, its like Orthrik all over again.

He's down, now to PvP!

The Exchange

How intense does it feel? I'm just watching and I reckon this game must be like a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Well done everyone for the way you are trying so hard to stay alive - I can almost feel it.

I keep looking at this from the viewpoint of a healer, I'd find it difficult to know who and when to drop heals on everyone (or not).

Good luck all of you and great fun, Lucendar.

Cheers

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Quick question Lucendar, i only want the chest portion of the chainmail. Is that ok? If you want to use peicemeal armour from UC i can give the remaining parts to someone to get them +1 AC.

Nope, all or nothing, if you pick the armor.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

No problem, still taking the armour. Pity, but gotta keep anyone else from getting an advantage. AC 19 is alright as well, might just turtle up to AC23 and see what happens.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Its been really fun btw french wolf, so close to going out at the start then pulling through the challenges and making it to the end has been a nail biting experience.

I thought i was done in the fire room but i've ended up in a strong position now thanks to luck mainly, and perhaps a little bit of diplomacy. This last bit is a crap shoot though, anything could happen.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

About to get on the train to work so my last post until this evening i guess. I've added the chain to my sheet and updated my stat block, are any of the items masterwork or are we just using normal gear?

Did the gnoll/wolfman have anything else on him other than the weapons and armour?

F Tiefling 2CLR/ 1MNK

Sometimes I wonder if Im the only American here. Or if there is really that many on night shift.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

I'm a brit, but your all often still posting when i wake up at seven am so it works out well. I get to catch up over my morning toast and tea then post before i read the paper. Its a poor paper today though so i'm lurking.

As I said, semi-european here, so I am on similar time as Menas (1 hour difference only). For example, this is posted from work ;-) while checking my morning mail.

I'm an american as well. I just keep weird hours.

Nope, only armor, crossbow, and sword. Cirnos gets the falchion.

If I followed the thread correctly Justified is awake and at 2 health from Gaza's rebuke death. Is that correct? If so let me know when he can act.

Yes, he will be after Gaza's turn, but Kwin and Haterivet go before her.

Male Half-Orc Per: +2 Init: +2; HP 7/9; AC 15/15/12; F: +4 R: +5 W: +5

Is the final trial supposed to be single combat or battle royale?

Per: +0 Init:+0 HP: 16/16 AC: 10/10/10 F: +4 R: +0 W: +2

4v4 Randomized dance off. (with the remaining people being alternates.)

(Think its Battle Royale)

I will post the rules in a second, but it's every man for himself.

Shadow Lodge

Don't forget, if you've been served, unless you make a Will Save DC 20 you HAVE to dance back.

Per: +0 Init:+0 HP: 16/16 AC: 10/10/10 F: +4 R: +0 W: +2

So that's why they aimed for Emilian, took out the best dancer! The bastards!!

Really hope I am not ruining anyone's fun (its very, VERY rare) that anyone gets the ability to play an evil character, and have always wanted to try that LE feel.

And on a lighter note, will be busy this evening for IRL game, (sunday afternoon as well), apologizing ahead of time for any delays that I may/may not cause!

What happened to all the cheesy one liners that we were promised?

M Human Lore Warden (Fighter 7): HP 70/70 AC: 19/13/16 F: +6 R: +5 W: +2 (3 vs fear), Per: +7 Init:+3)

No problem at all here. With the flavor of the campaign I am not surprised that we have so many evil aligned characters. I think I am the one bucking the system by choosing to play a good aligned character. I wanted the challenge, for some reason I currently do not recall. :)

I had one RL game last night and am running another Sunday night. Both PFS at the moment, but we do switch out after a few months.

Please forgive me if you die from that polearm and I am unable to resist posting my amusement, Hat. Don't worry though, I'm saving a spot for you here. So far, I've seen a few of you duck in to visit, and sneak back into the realm of the living. Soon I'll have more company.

Yeah, look where it got me. I'll see you soon.

Male Oread Ranger 2 HP 9/23 AC: 16 F: +4 R: +5 W: +2 Per: +7 Init:+4

Well I'm not sure my gamble has paid, it will depend whether Lucendar allows the +4 AC due to the total defense.

Male Human(Ulfen) Barbarian/2 Per:+6 Init:+3 HP19/26(30/30) AC: 20/12/18 F:+7(+9) R:+4(+6) W:+2(+4)

Should have took the crossbow shot Quain. Left yourself exposed and i don't think it will be plesant.

Total Defense is a dodge bonus. Being flat-footed means you lose your Dex bonus, not that you are denied it, so you do not lose the +4 bonus. Kor's AC is then +2 Wis +4 Total Defense = 16.

Dodge bonus: Any situation that denies you your Dexterity bonus also denies you dodge bonuses.

Flat-Footed: A character who has not yet acted during a combat is flat-footed, unable to react normally to the situation. A flat-footed character loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) and cannot make attacks of opportunity.
