You're really doing good with your speeches. This game is turning to be funnier than I expected and it's not because I'm still alive.
Out of all the numbers I could have rolled, I am still shocked that it just happened to land on 15. I would have been pretty much dandy if I got just one point of damage more!
But it was fun while it lasted, I'm glad I was able to make the run a little more interesting. Part of me wishes I just took a withdraw action, but the angry guy in me just had to hit the moderately more tame angry guy that hit me.

Last I heard, Gaza was still on the ceiling over the dirt floor. Justified was wanting to hear from her about a heal or channel for Menas before he moved on. Seems like we totally skipped her. Either that or I missed it.
If no one is healing Menas I do not think there is any hope for him getting through the first trial.
I am advancing to the trial stage because 2 players moved up and because who completes the trial first matters, in terms of reward.

I think i have proved my usefulness in the fight already, Orthrik was easily the biggest damage dealer and i took him down. If i do get a heal off someone do you reckon anyone else wants their face to meet rageshield?
My fate is out of my own hands at the moment, i can be at peace with that. But if i don't get a heal i'm not going to stop, i'll just try and power through.

While i am chaotic neutral my view of Menas is that he acts out of enlightened self interest. So far he has kept his word, he has not attacked anyone but Orthrik and he did that after Orthrik tried to jump Salu.
Realistically Varos you need to judge Menas on his words and actions since everyone woke up in the cells, he said he'd be happy to help anyone to the end of the trials and sort any issues at the end.
If you want him to swear an oath you'll need to get him to do that in character, it would be plainly obvious to anyone if Menas we're lying. His obvious lack of social graces and his easy to read expression would give him away to anyone with a passable sense motive score.
Another way to look at it is that he worships the godess of revenge, if you heal him and no one else does who do you think he will want to smash at the end of all this? Every group needs a cleric and something as simple as healing Menas might decide who that cleric is.

as a LE and follower of Zon-Kuthon, there really does not exists so many people who are looking at them with kind eyes. It is his best interest to forge an ally or master-servant relationship with people he has no idea.

I see your predicament, your currently a two man and its not a good spot to be in. But some will probably get thinned by the trials.
Its got to be approached in character but forging an alliance is easier than forging a master-servant relationship when the service your providing is instant, I can see both you and Kaz are looking at your numbers vs the other alliances and thinking your short on manpower though...

Sorry to see you go Bug. I thought your character was particularly well build for the conditions - no armor, etc. You may have had the best AC and to-hit bonuses in the group. Glad I did not have to fight you at the end.
What has me worried is that you likely also had the best reflex saves in the group. Justified still has to get through that fire.

Edit, i cannot help but notice that Kazmuk rolled moderately high for the last flame jet and died, Bug rolled high for the last one and died and that Haterivet rolled low and got through without a singe. Makes me think its not so much about the reflex save as something else. I'm still gonna go with my plan of get buffs from Varos and try to leech some healing but it makes you wonder.

Can we have a time check, i'm aware i just turned up in the room with Kazmuk in time to watch him die along with Bug and see Haterivet make it through. How long after Kor et al making it across did that happen?
Were i on full HP i'd be rushing ahead as well but as i am currently on 5hp i'm kinda stuck waiting on potential buffs and channels which are literally seconds away in game but could be hours away irl. Just need an idea of weather i can actually get at the front of the pack once Varos and Gaza get back or if everyone will be three trails in.
Obviously if Gaza and Varos don't show up all day i'll have to move on anyway but i'd rather give myself every chance of sucess.

I had planned to have Emilian take a pot shot at Cirnos with the sling once he had gotten it, then stepping back on the stones and never leaving again. Might have been enough to take him down with the fire jets, but events moved more quickly that I had hoped and I didn't get the post in in time.
So now Emilian and Cirnos can die together in the next challenge.
So there is Quain, Justified, Gaza, Varos and myself left to go? I'm tempted to dash for it but if i miss a save by one i'll be gutted that i didn't wait for Varos.
Still holding out hope that Gaza will fail the saves and use some channelling that i can leech on as well.

Nah, I've gotta hang back to be honest. I can't risk taking a run at it and dying when there are buffs and healing about that could make it so much easier.
Once Gaza arrives and starts failing saving throws everyone on the other side of the fire will be hugging the edge of the flames to try to leech healing as well.

Eh, anything in which we have to make 3 DC 15ish Reflex saves at first level is supposed to kill most characters. Bodes ill for what's to come, if that's the first trial.
I think that just killed me, unless Gaza does drop a channel after the first flame rolling a 3 on the last flame is probably bad.
Edit: mind my rolls are not much different from Haterivets so if my hunch is correct and its not all about agility then maybe i made it.

You should at least be able to take one hit Varos, as long as he doesn't roll really high. If you take 7 or something and Gaza takes a few she will probably channel before going through the second flame, then we can pick up a bit of healing.
If he rolls higher than a 6 on me without healing I'm dead outright, well i can rage for 3 more rounds and hope for a heal if he rolls 8 or less but i think its unlikely.

Well we made it Varos, I'm back to being Billy One HP again. However normally when a monster is BOHP everyone rolls really badly to hit it for 2 rounds so it might work to my advantage.
Could you keep me Virtue'd and Guidance'd for now? Anything could help.
Hate being in Europe in regards to happenings in this game - during (my) day, there's actually very little action, then during the evening usually things start "heating up". Then I go to sleep, and typically in the morning there's like 40 posts more with things happening left and right and I need to catch up :-(
But I really am enjoying the game so far, and I believe that it is really a (small) wonder that almost all 16-18 people are very civil, not to say "normal", whatever happens to their characters. Keep it up girls and boys
