Yep he is. But you can overcome a low charisma with training... And for me low charisme does not mean inept at communication. It just mean you're not natural or you ruffle people's feather more often than not.
Thats what i'm going for with Menas, not shy but brash in comversation. Sometimes says the wrong thing or is unthinkingly offensive or abrasive without being malcious.
Its a fine line to tread, i doubt i'll be buying diplomacy ranks though so hopefully i can pull it off.

Terrible groaner Justi, taking a walk along the top of the wall sounds like a plan, but we need to know what the top of the wall is like. I doubt its like a dressed stone battlement.
Took a look at all the wizard spells with durations of hours/level or better, the only really good spell before overland flight at level 9 is darkvision and we're planning on avoiding night runs as much as we can anyway.
If I understood correctly, magic, or at least arcane magic can not be safely cast inside the city, so why are we convincing the mage to come with us?! I really do not see some value, am I missing something here?
I think we are trying to get him to cast long duration spells on us before we set off, extended mage armour would be really handy for you, greater magic weapon or darkvision would be good for a few of us and overland flight is the daddy.
But considering we have to get over the wall and scout about anything that doesn't last all the hours of daylight is a little bit of a waste, so even if he can cast some high level spells we still need a rod of extend.
I would do, ahem, lots of things to have Mage armour on me when going inside, but let us see the results of our "convincing". Although, TBH I am really not sure if Hat would know of Mage armour spell...?

Quain can try driving, although he has no experience doing that.
I reckon as long as your not trick driving its relatively simple, if it was hard i think the baron would have sent a driver.
Let me lnow when a few hours have past and we break for lunch, i'll take my turn driving/on watch in the afternoon.
I'm not 100% but i kind of expect an encounter on the way, we've got a few days driving to get there so perhaps we should make plans for camp jobs etc while we're on the way. No offense but i wouldn't trust Kwins cooking! :-p

Might be a language thing Haterivet, but that is where it sounded like you were going to me when you mentioned wanting to negotiate for Mage armor. And it sort of goes with your background story of abuse. Sounds like I had the wrong idea, which I am just fine to find out.

Hmmmm, now you got me thinking...honestly, I was not envisioning Hat in any kind of "action" since he is....unable to do it. But I did put in his backstory that he had similar experiences in the past. Not willingly maybe, but until now he is certainly more than used to it. So, if the mage would be "ticking that way" it would not be past Haterivet to agree, as long as he sees it beneficial to his continued survival...

I'm off work and i'm lurking since being sat around waiting is driving me absolutely crazy with nerves, so i'm trying to resist the urge to franticly post in the gameplay thread. :-)
Change of plan, my gf's hospital appointment has been cancelled, she's now going in tomorrow and i'm on my way to work. Joy.

Justi, sorry but we all know elves are girls and that wizards are the most useless class you can play, the baron told us half of that on the first night and i guessed the rest by looking at "it" from behind.
Nah, i often play an elf wizard. Gotta love the int boost, but they so look girly from the back. Just like johnny depp.
Not gonna respond in the other thread as i don't want to promote favourites and discourage people from applying, the best character should always get through imo.
I did consider doing a tourney like Lucendar btw, but i only had melee, archery and skill challenges, its hard to write a divine and arcane caster challenge.
Don't rebuy, just check out the players guide. I'm not all about new people, but in a market like this everyone should have a chance rather than just letting your mates in. I can't imagine a home game with some many applicants.

She was induced this morning, in about an hour they're doing another sweep. Contractions have started but my baby is sooo lazy its a long process.
4pm here, 12 hours since she woke me up and 8 hours since we got to the hospital. Her waters have just been broke and we're waiting for labour to kick off, both beautiful and disgusting.
Hopefully we will be done some time this evening.

I actually got 2 hours Quain, not been to work though since my gf is feeling bad still. Lost a lot of blood, went back into hospital basicly right after i lay down.
Just got a spare hour now since her family are visiting, so i'm having a pint and hoping for some zzz this afternoon when they both get some.

About the game, i think in character we all have excellent reason to be jumpy and paranoid. Underneath Menas harsh exterior and even harsher interior is still a guy who doesn't like getting beat up...

You guys may have to reign Justified in, if the bandits have already left this scene. He does not like those who pray on the innocent and is willing to sidetrack here to hunt down and end some bandits.
His thinking is the baron's daughter has been missing for a long time and a day or two delay is not likely going to matter. And these bandits are likely watching the road and have seen us and could easily attack the wagon and our mage while we are in the city... Everyone buying that?
OC - I'm buying that, and could chase some orcish/gobliney (who else is eating horses?) bandits.
IC - You will have to try harder than that to "sell" that story to Hat. This is in no way related to the "mission", and Haterivet could not care less if something happens to the mage while he's waiting for us. But you could try and sell him the story, that while we're inside, they could kill the mage, and then ambush us in our "safe" camp...that might work.

Hmm. I wonder if our mage will buy it. :) I am not sure how far we are from the city at the moment.
Its not really a case of loose the mage, fail the mission. The mage was pretty much an after thought. But having a mage to guard our camp is pretty nice. It gives us a place to fall back and regroup, etc.
