Call me crazy, but I think it's a pretty important part of joining an ongoing campaign. Screws up the continuity to pop in out of nowhere. And, party dynamics are important so it's important to have some idea of how you'll fit in.
I'll tell you that this has been a great story so far. My pulse was literally racing while reading the fight with Vark and seeing people drop. The sahuagin fight was exciting too. Couldn't believe that was thrown at a bunch of 1st levels out of the gate. Started worrying I might be signing up for a Call of Cthulhu campaign.

I linked the Map of Eleder to the campaign to give you a visual aid of all the districts. Lavinia's Manor is in New Haliad; the Velvet Rose and the Blue Nixie are in Eleder Harbor.
Hey, if I have Lucendar post that to the Campaign Info, no more translations :) Be careful though. Some of the terms are NSFW. I've been sticking to the less colorful ones.

Definitely. I have to finish migrating my Council of Thieves campaign to use that tab. I got started, but I'm stuck in between that and a Google Site that I used at the beginning. I keep making up more NPCs and its definitely hard to keep track of them all.

Bad news! I'll be without access to the boards there until I can get connectivity. That means I'll only be able to post at work occasionally, and not at all until I get service.

I have PFS today so I may be out of action for a couple hours, but will be back on later tonight.
And I'm probably being too clever to combine the market and a good spot to lure him in. Maybe we should just pick an alley in a less trafficked area...though I believe Eleder's pearl market is only open one day a week.
Baolo, the way I read the entry in the Eleder section is that the merchants restock their supply of pearls once a week when the tribes come in, but they try to sell their inventory every day of the week until they run out. Basically, the markets will be open tomorrow in the game world.

How would you rule on animal companions for Druids in that other game, DM? Would the Druid have to take a domain instead, or is there a way to find a companion?

Yep, but Chez offered to pay the extra cost of splitting the rowboat cost which was 15gp, so that is 3 gp each. Chez will be paying the 20gp extra it cost for the sailing ship. Chez will work out collecting the money from everyone later though, assuming he gets his deposit of 150 gp back.
I know the getting trapped in the smuggler's tunnels is a bit railroad-ish, but if it makes you feel any better, the mod actually has Vanthus waiting for you outside and as soon as you climb down, he cuts the rope and slams the trapdoor shut. In my version, you caught him by surprise in the tunnels but while Ialda was bashing the door, he drank the potion of invisibility and opened the door to the east, playing on misdirection. Per the rules, you get +40 stealth when invisible and not moving so no chance to spot him. He then went all stealth to pass Kowaru and left. Same result, but it feels a little better, right? LOL..
It's fine, DM. A little bit of railroading doesn't bother me at all. I havent read the first couple of APs for a long time, but I seem to remember there was a good bit of railroading involved. But as I recall, they were among my favorite APs, especially Savage Tide.

Heads up that I'll be out of action from about Noon CST till about 8pm CST for Pathfinder Society and an orchestra concert for my son. If we don't get enough folks for PFS, it will be a little less. Feel free to GM NPC me during that time if you need to. Baolo will keep shooting with the arrows unless Ialda or Chez gets knocked out. If that happens, he will draw his brass knife and attack them hand-to-hand.

On a completely unrelated note - is it possible to remove a character from a game's list? I accidentally posted with one of my other characters before fixing that mistake, and don't want him on there if I can help it. :)
