Can we get access to combat-trained mounts? I notice Aldsworth doesn't have animals, but can we get them from the camp? Do we need to pay for them, or can we just requisition them?

Also, does that amulet of protection provide a deflection bonus to AC (like a ring of protection), or is it an amulet of natural armor?

Since we are going to operate behind enemy lines now, Ana deems it necessary to prepare for some trickery and disguise, just in case they encounter any locals:

A standard disguise kit to disguise herself from people like her sister, who could recognize her personally.

Something to make her pass off as legitimate Jadwiga royalty to Irrisenian peasants: clothing details and accessories that look like how she remembers Irrisenian royalty to dress like.

Something to disguise some of the men as Baba Yaga's black, red, and white rider: She doesn't know exactly how the riders look like. But neither would the average Irresenian peasant, hopefully. So what she is looking for is some paint (to paint the armor of each rider with), a cape for each rider, and a bridle for each rider's horse in the respective color.

Would such things be available?

I am driving across country so I haven't been able to do a big post. Stopping for food and gas and got 3G.

I think the +3 scale would be nice for Skall because of the black raven markings. It is better than Thorvalds armor, but he is attached to his and he can move better in what he has on now.

The +2 natural armor bonus would be awesome, but Ana has the lowest AC right now so maybe she should get it.

Who has the CLW wand we bought earlier? I am all for buying the potions and scrolls if we can afford them.

Thorvald wants to talk to Savols seer to talk to her about the spirits.

He will spend quality time with Ana.

I am wondering: when it says the mobile emporium has these items in stock, do they have one of each, or do they have an assortment of each?

Natural armor doesn't stack with itself, right? Ana's fur cloak already provides +1 natural armor, so for her the +2 amulet would only be a +1 net win.

Another thing to consider: so far ARC has always been nice enough to never have anyone ever attack the back row spellcaster.
(Of course that might be going to change, now that I brought it up...)

Lets bring food that will last a bit longer that what we are planning to take for this.

I don't want to be starving just because we had to take a small detour somewhere.

And thanks for the offer of carrying all our food. But woldn't it be wise if everyone carried rations for at least a few days? Just in case Zethyris falls into a chasm again - or we get otherwise separated?

Yeah I think we will all carry food, but Zethyris can stuff food and bandages, oil, extra arrows etc in the bag so we can extend ourselves behind enemy lines if need be. Even extra clean undies!

Bonus (Natural Armor)

A natural armor bonus improves Armor Class resulting from a creature's naturally tough hide. Natural armor bonuses stack with all other bonuses to Armor Class (even with armor bonuses) except other natural armor bonuses. Some magical effects (such as the barkskin spell) grant an enhancement bonus to the creature's existing natural armor bonus, which has the effect of increasing the natural armor's overall bonus to Armor Class. A natural armor bonus doesn't apply against touch attacks.

So then the question is: does the coat grant a natural armor bonus directly (in which case they would stack), or does it also grant an enhancement bonus to natural armor (in which case they wouldn't stack)?


They are technically the same item so no stacking bonus

Durp, I think that got lost in the gibberish posts I deleted this week. It's amazing what looks normal when your doped up. The party was supposed to get 500 gold for supplies and such.

Cobbling together a post today but I still had some questions:

1) Did Skall have any success with Rose and Rolf? I had posted earlier about his efforts to lift the curse.

2) Is Skall just buying a new warhorse? Or is he still using Shaghgyhorse? Just confirming for the flavor text.

3) What's the final plan? Are we going to run with disguises of some sort? Is Skall OK to maintain as a cleric of Gorum considering the baddies probably have clerics of their own? I think i could be a cleric attached to the retinue, something to that effect.

I'm sure I have more but thought I'd lead off with those.

i recommend we change into our disguise once we are out of sight of the sentinels. Lets say at our first camp inside Irrisen. Irrisenian warriors plus minor jadwiga noble for the start. Lets keep the elite guard and baba yaga's riders as a backup for emergencies.


Two things:

1 I am finding it very hard to find time to post Sunday (RL game) and Monday (trade school prep) so updates on those days are unlikely

2" blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne" isn't Gorum, unless Gorum is Khorne the chaos god of carnage now lol (hmm corrupting the god of battle into a demon lord could make an interesting campaign gotta write that one down)

Heh heh, if you think about it that is who Gorum is. He thrives on battle itself. If battle were to end so would he. He plays all sides of any conflict because he benefits from it all. If there was ever a one sided deity it is Gorum.

He sees little value in matters of diplomacy and politics, considering the pursuits of his divine peers as frivolous at best. You can get everything but the mount, (he can't fit horses into his wagons)

As far as the * rider costumes go... Unless you intend to buy actual heavy armour your best bet would be to colour someone's armour and buy some ornamentation. You can buy regular paint for cheap, a 2-4 silvers depending on the quantity or buy actual lacquer which would be 3-5 gold per suit.

He doesn't have anything that would qualify as royal garb but he does have dozens of noble outfits (in both Irrissen and Linnorm styles)

All prices are as per the book.

Also I noticed Thorvald's little idea with the Queen's assassin's masks. Unless you intend to impale those nasty spikes into your skulls he'll have to test his skill. The masks are very slim so they'll warp easily. Gimme three craft checks DC 22 to modify each of the three masks, failure ruins the mask.
