Julian's definitely one of the newest additions, just recently joined the caravan. What he thinks of people so far:

With Jediah and Isham he has been more open to, in a "White people! Am I right?" kind of way.

Anastasiya: weak, hot as hell, stand-offish (as of now upgraded to b*$*~)

Andreas: Confusing. Strong, good warrior, good instincts, but over-pious and more than a little effeminate, what with all the art and beauty and such. (Remember, this is Julian, not me)

Dagmar: witches are best left to themselves, could be a staunch ally

Isham: He likes this guy, even if he is a little prig-ish at times. Good warrior, honorable, strong.

Jediah: Tough, strong, not very bright, good to have on your side.

Rutilux: Julian is curious about Cheliax and has been trying to figure out how to talk about it with Rutilux.

Zethyris: Even sneakier than me. Watch and learn and surpass.

Both; generally if you hustle more than an hour between sleep cycles you suffer nonlethal damage and have to start making checks for fatigue. Taking catnaps throughout the pursuit should help to stave off these effects, at least for a time.

M Human Skald 1

Hmm As Zethyris has said, Jediah is more acquainted with him than the other members. A fellow sufferer of prejudice, the have some things in common and roll dice and drink together.

Huh ...my table top DMs are rough, but I don't know that we've ever encountered that. Good to know.

@Zethyris-
Your idea is fine. Valborg (Val to family and friends) was very much a sterotypical hotheaded Ulfen warrior, fond of drink and adventures. He traveled with Savol not just out of friendship and loyalty, but also to secure for himself a place in the sagas that would told for years to come. He imagined himself a might warrior and thought himself capable of many great deeds. He may have spoken to his friends of a younger sister who would always follow him around and who had a talent for healing. He'd tell stories of all the sick and injured little animals she would find and bring home to tend to and that they often ended up in his bed.

As for opinions on the rest of the group, Dagmar hasn't had much of a chance yet to get to know everyone since she has mostly kept to herself and her duties within camp of tending t the sick and injured nd hepin with the cooking. Though it is safe to say that she harbors some level of resentment for everyone who made it back with Savol when her brother didn't.

Andreas would be one of the few that she would have made an attempt to talk to due to the many late night conversations that Jild and Dagmar had regarding him.

Jediah is the only one that she would have gone out of her way to avoid. It wouldn't be hard to find out that her father had been killed not long ago in a skirmish with an Orc tribe and Jediah is orc enough to make her uncomfortable in his presence.

Julian, after that little outburst IC, Dagmar thinks you're just some ignorant, little hot-headed foreigner who is likely to get himself killed by insulting the wrong person.

:D

Zethyris finds Julian to be somewhat reminiscent of himself when he was was a rookie member of Savol's horde: brash, impatient, always wanting to go on an adventure. He hopes that Julian will learn caution more easily than Zethyris did. Zethyris will try to take sort of a gentle mentoring attitude because he sees so much of himself in the boy.

@Dagmar - Thanks. I hope I wasn't imposing on your character's story at all.

Also: Just want to say that I'm enjoying this immensely. I'm having so much fun with this. Thanks, all. Let's keep it up!

Wow. I am AFKfor a little while, and miss all the drama :) I'm gonna say Rutilux was out of earshot for most of it tending his horse to explain his lack of participation there

It's a good group and seems like everyone's into actual role-playing instead of just video game shooting.

Female Human (Ulfen/Irrisen)

@Zeth - Nope, no imposition at all. :)

Male Human (Thyatian) Fighter 1 (HP:13/13)(AC 20/11t/19ff ; F+4, R+1,W+1 with +2 Bonus vs fear)

This could change, and if any of it bugs anyone, please let me know and I'll try to edit but so far...
Rutilux Talonn's opinions on-

Anastasiya: While beautiful and commanding, Rutilux finds her intimidating. Her magics , which he may have seen in action at least once by now, could sap his strength or send his armor to sizzling. She's physically weak, and a beautiful woman and this brings out a protective streak that clashes with the above and he's very sure she wouldn't appreciate it if he gave into those instincts too often. In short, he's conflicted.

Andreas: Clearly a competent holy warrior, Andreas is someone Rutilux admires a great deal, and envies a little as well. The goodness that seems to radiate off the paladin makes the young cavalier question his own self. Hard as the order's edicts can be to follow, he knows a paladin's creed is no easier and yet from what Rutilux has seen, Andreas follows his goddess with a smile on his face and certainty in his step. Rutilux can only hope he has half as much poise.

Dagmar: While she's not as intimidating as Anastasiya, her way of healing is odd to Rutilux. Clerics he is used to. Witches? Assuming he even knows that's what she is? Not so much. She's also clearly smarter than he, and between her intelligence and Anastasiya's charisma, the young cavalier wonders if he shouldn't just shut up around the ladies least he embarrass himself. That said, actions speak louder than words. She heals and saves lives, and that is to be treasured. He likely did train with her brother for a time and can respect her taking up a family charge. After all, he's taking up one himself.

Isham: Isham is a professional, and Rutilux respects that. True, the cavalier is studying tactical knowledge, but Isham has LIVED it. Isham is the tempered steel, where Rutilux has yet to be placed from fire to ice to see if he breaks. If anything bothers Rutilux about the man, it's his Rahadoumi heritage. The entire concept of a country that denies the gods any place in their lives just strikes him as wrong. Then again, Rutilux reminds himself that HIS family's land turned to devil worship, so perhaps he's no right to judge.

Jediah: Rutilux is happy to have another warrior in the group, particularly one who seems to be inexhaustible. While proud of his own might, the cavalier has by now trained with others enough to realize that endurance is invaluable in any army. While he doesn't chat Jediah up much, nor does he sneer at him. The man didn't ASK to be orc blooded after all.

Julian: The exotic looking ninja and the cavalier are very close in age yet no friendship has formed as Julian is too new to the group. Rutilux will likely find insults used to motivate him VERY annoying if that's tried with him. Rutilux is a cavalier, after all, and they tend to value their good name and reputation. Ironically, while Julian seems to be very comfortable BEING a teen, Rutilux is struggling very hard to be older than his years. In that, the two contrast.

Zethyris: Zethyris considers Rutilux optimistic, where as Rutilux considers himself merely idealistic. The cavalier aspires to a higher purpose, whereas the rogue seems to have a mix of pragmatism with a genuine joy of life here and now as it is. The elf blood is happy to break the rules, where as Rutilux WILL if he feels he must, but it sets him in a troubled mood. The rogue doesn't seem to second guess himself, or if he does, Rutilux hasn't seen it. Sometimes, the young nobleman wishes he could do that.

"Hold that pose!"

Andreas scoops up a pile of snow, turns away from the group, and sets to work. The sounds of various power tools can be heard. He finally steps away, revealing a misshapen snowman with Jediah's head.

"What? I rolled a natural 1."

We really need to get Cpt. Bron nice bottle of scotch when we get back. And one for the quartermaster as well. 2 healing kits? potions?!? noicey nice!

Disconnect Notice: I'm going to be off line for about the next 24-36 hours. driving back from NY to DC, after a memorial service for my mother-in-law. So - I'll be back on line Monday late PM, or maybe Tuesday during the day.

M Human Skald 1

SO when and how do we divide things up?

Male Half-Elf Rogue 6 / Aldori Swordlord 1 / Duelist 1 (HP: 64/64 | AC:24 T:18 FF:24 [+2 vs traps, +4 vs movement AoO]| F:+6 R:+14 (+16 vs traps) W:+6 | Init +7 [+9] Per +15 (+18 vs traps)

Looks like everyone gets a horse except for Rutilux, who has Sunfire.
I'd recommend the healer's kits go to those who actually have ranks in heal - which seems to only be Dagmar, who has one already. The next best user of heal is... Jediah. Who has the highest wisdom score of all of us with a 14.
Dagmar has the only crossbow, so the bolts are hers.
We have 6 people who use a bow (everyone else except Anastasiya). Should we just leave them all together until someone runs out/low?
I'd vote a CLW to the fighters first. Jediah, Rutilux, Andreas I think. I'm planning to fight mainly ranged until 2nd level when I can get finesse, so I don't think I'll need one. Isham/Julian might want one.
The rest of the potions can probably be left with someone until needed.
Those are my thoughts.

M Human Skald 1

You cut your finger, I'll take care of it.

*Repeatidly wraps gauze around your neck*

Jediah will take a horse, healer's kit and CLw potion then

male (HP43/43 AC 21 | T 14 | FF 17 | CMD 21 | F +6 | R +11 | W +6 | Init +3 | Per +10) Garundi Ranger (Freebooter) 2 / Bard 4

Concur with Zatherys's recommendations. Note that Isham also has a healer's kit among his gear (part of Pathfinder's kit I believe) for spares and deep backup. Zatherys and Isham each ought to hang onto a potion, since I think we'll both be second line mobility type folks. Julian will probably be ranging for flanks.

Isham also has a baseline load of arrows, which he also plans as his primary mode of engagement for a while (considering ninjas and paladins and cavaliers and barbarians, oh my!)

Male Half-Elf Rogue 6 / Aldori Swordlord 1 / Duelist 1 (HP: 64/64 | AC:24 T:18 FF:24 [+2 vs traps, +4 vs movement AoO]| F:+6 R:+14 (+16 vs traps) W:+6 | Init +7 [+9] Per +15 (+18 vs traps)

It seems there is a bit of a time lapse between Julian and the rest of us. Julian is following tracks or something, but is that still 2 hours ago, before the rest of us slept? Maybe we should hold off on advancing the story too much before his part is resolved. (Unless he is going to miss meeting up with us anyway)

Edit: Ninja'd by DM! All good.

I just want to clarify the cave is forty minutes moving using stealth but only ten to fifteen minutes moving at normal speed. There is plenty of cover and such but loose rock and rubble make most of this area difficult to be quiet while moving through. As such the stealth check is more for being quiet than actually hiding.

Actually now would probably be a good idea to discuss combat.

I would like to move at speed though encounters as such I will post the information for each round and players will have until roughly that time the next day to post their actions/reactions. Anyone who does not post during that 24hr period will be DM-PCd that round. If everyone posts faster then I will advance rounds faster but this is the minimum pace I'd like to maintain. I will automatically roll for any AoOs that occur during the update post so don't worry about that. As far as maps go I have no experience with maptools yet but I am messing around with trying to learn it.

Does anyone have a problem with that or alternative suggestions?

OOC: OK, now y'all realize that "let's sneak up on 'em in camp" is. Not a standard shipboard maneuver, right? Isham's taking a bit of a flier on this one as much as anyone...

But he should be well away of the "Lets sneak onboard and get them while their sleeping maneuver" if only from having it used on him at least once by pirates

Cavaliers don't sneak. They charge, they wax eloquent perhaps, they go hammer and tongs when they have to...

but due to a sad lack of mounts with ninja training and the armor they tend to wear, cavaliers don't sneak :)
