Meurasod Spellslayer |
Shortly after clearing the web from his face, Meurasod grumbles and walks over to the dead spider. He balls his hand into a fist and begins to pummel the corpse. He punches right through the carapace and rips out the venom gland. Standing up, he walks past Katara, dumping the venom gland in her hands as he moved over to the desiccated corpse. He wiped his hands off on the body before moving around to gather the items scattered throughout the room. He tied the longswords together, dumped the daggers in his pack, slipped the hand axe into his belt, and tossed the purse to Mary. "Baldrek, check the doors while we finish burning these webs."

Katara Vardigan |
Katara smiles. "Thanks Meurasod. I hope to use this against our enemies." She moistened a cloth and wrapped the sack in it. When they had a chance to rest she would grab a vial to put it in so she can use it. Moving back she would grab her torch and helps Meurasod clean out the webs. There was a special pair of sabers she wanted to get made of red obsidian. To work she would need to get them magically strengthened. She would have to save what coin she could get.

Katara seems fine with that and she looks at her torch seeing how much life was left in it and if she needed to burn a new one. Not that she minded, it made her pack lighter. "Need to get one of those Ioun Torches. Makes this so much easier." She muttered.
Baldrek Zar'Zaron |
"I'd prefer to check the door we left behind but..." Baldrek opens the south door as Meurasod requested.

@Aralu: nice try.The corpse seems very old, and unrecognisable
Baldrek sees only a small corridor, and with Zurka by his side starts exploring carefully.
Not carefully enough, it seems, as both fall down a trap.

Baldrek falls hard, a spike pierces his left leg, another one hurts his chest, near the heart.
Zurka manages to fall ON Baldrek, cushioning his fall but impaling the tiefling deeper on the spikes.
Near Zurka, a form moves on too many legs: another big spider, rushing toward the open doors of the trap!
Baldrek is now unconscious and dying (-6 HP). Sowwy.

Zurka stares down at the unconscious and bleeding tiefling with a touch of regret.
A pity, he was a useful tool...I will join him unless I can drive off this spider!

Is the trap sealed with the web or did the floor cover it? If the floor, what is the floor is made of?
Meurasod rushes forward, cursing under his breath. "One side ladies. Katara, help me cut them out." He moves up and begins to attack the top of the trap.

If Katara can get up there and switch places with the skeletons she would hack at the web. If it was possibly she would try to stab the spider through the web but don't think we can.

@Mary: this isn't a stroll in your garden. The Spire is a dangerous place. Let's have some drama and risk involved, if you don't mind!
@All will post later, sorry
Katara destroy the remaining strands of web, and Aralu casts a spell.
Baldrek's heart resume its beating, and the blood slowly stops to run from his body.
Zurka Shadowsworn |
Zurka thrusts his blade into the corpse of the spider again for good measure and allows his bloodrage to fade. Peering down at the unconscious form of Baldrek he sees the tiefling has stopped bleeding. Deciding the man was too heavy to lift and carry out of the pit, he instead motioned to Aralu to climb down. "He lives, for now."
While the others concentrate on the tiefling, Zurka looks around for any other useful items that others may have left here.

Mary Dawnrose |
When Baldrek's been hoisted out of the pit and onto the ground, Mary sighs with a slight shake of her head.
Kneeling besides the wounded tiefling, her hands glows eerie purple once more, as she lays one on his forehead and one on his chest.

"आप लापरवाह पेशी सिर, मैं बता नहीं था कि तुम भी जल्द ही चोट करने के लिए नहीं है?

"You reckless muscle head, didn't i tell you not to get hurt too soon?
I only have limited healing available."
Baldrek Zar'Zaron |
Baldrek opens his eyes to meet Mary's. He then smiles.
"खैर ... कम से कम मैं अपने नरम हाथों मुझ पर फिर से मिल गया, सुंदर!"
Baldrek coughs a bit of blood before continuing. "Thanks again... looks like this isn't my lucky day after all..."
Zurka Shadowsworn |
Zurka looks at Baldrek, "If you two are finished now, this pit should have more victims of the spider in it. The fact nothing else is in here leads me to believe the spider lairs elsewhere. Can you track its lair down?"
Baldrek Zar'Zaron |
"Unfortunately I think we are finished, Zurka..." Baldrek slowly gets on his feet and starts to look for some tracks.
"Spiders are kind of difficult to track, even if it has so many legs..."

Baldrek is currently at only 1 hp I think... it so, it would be better to keep him in the back with his bow and cross his fingers for the dice to stop s%~+ing in his perception checks...
Meurasod Spellslayer |
"Hope you don't mind lass" the dwarf says as he fishes the rope out of Aralu's pack. He snakes it down into the pit and asks "Zurka, ties this around Beldrek. Katara, give me a hand." With the woman's help, the dwarf heaves the line up and the unconscious tiefling with it. "Zurka, you're next."
Once Baldrek is again conscious, the dwarf bellows. "Hahaha, you're tougher than a halfling's callous, I've give you you that. When we get back to town, you're drinkin' on my tab. Now, stay with the lasses and keep them safe. Aralu, you mind sending one of your bone friends ahead? Maybe keep the other one behind us? And can you patch up Baldrek some more. If he keeps bleedin', we'll be easy to follow."
"Katara, you want the front or back?"
Aralu Darkstone |
"Baldrek,it might be a good idea if I gave you a healing too, you barely look healthier then those two" Aralu points at her skeletons.
She then starts mumbling "ស្តារ, ប៉ាក់ សាច់ឈាម របស់គាត់ធ្វើឱ្យ ទាំងមូល"
the deadtouched girl touches the tiefling with her gently glowing hand.

Katara Vardigan |
"We probably will have to search throughly together." She said looking at Baldrek and shook her head.
"As far as I could tell, it came from down the hall but we should check the pit carefully. Also, what kind of spider is it and anything useful we can use in it?"
DM Lil" Eschie |
Can use Gaseous form and Obscuring mist
Zurka Shadowsworn |
Zurka looks down at the remains of the spider and nods slowly. "Yes a very fortunate event. Unfortunately, this means we have no way to track it back to its lair." He sighs softly, "We should keep moving."
Meurasod Spellslayer |
"Agreed. Aralu, send one of the skeletons south and west around the corner. Use it to check for more floor traps. Everyone move out and Baldrek, stay in the middle. As soon as we find something valuable or these bloody mages that we're looking for, we'll return to town and see about getting a healing wand."
Katara Vardigan |
Not hearing anything useful about the spider besides its capabilities she would pick all her stuff up.
"Baldrek if you want to take lead I can hold up the rear. Your eyes are better than mine in this dark place."
DM Lil" Eschie |
The skeleton send as a scout soon has to stop.
Massive black iron gates bar the corridor, fashioned out of twisted, angular vertical bars that have sharp edges and are about a handspan apart, linked by welded crossbars. The gates have massive hinges set deep into the walls, and a heavy lock inside a welded box secures sliding bars that run into sockets in the floor and ceiling at the center of the corridor.
Moreover, a black iron chain with links as thick as a human thumb wraps
around the gates where they meet above and below the lockbox. The chain’s ends disappear into holes in the lockbox.
It seems as solid a gate as you have ever seen.
Perhaps there is something precious beyond these gates?
