Lily presents you with the waistcoat. It is snug to fit with your dimensions, black on the exterior with a subtle red satin interior bottom border.

Sampson goes on about your earlier encounter.

His name is Kräcktar. Tiefling brute to say the least. He prefers to fight unarmed, with his sharp claws. Yet is not afraid to brandish his greatsword should the need arise. He took it easy in you, for you are still breathing. The other two I saw him with, might be new recruits, they were unfamiliar to me. You are lucky I have eyes everywhere, or you might be dead. If Kräcktar is your enemy...we might not be enough. Kräcktar is in league with nobody in particular, he is a "hired gun" of sorts. Jameson had a favor from him, which is interesting in itself I suppose. Any specific questions you may have?

Kracktard sure found us quick, did someone notice us enter town?

"What do you propose we do about this Krooktar guy? Do we need to take him out before he takes us out?" Kraull asks, suddenly very interested in the conversation. "I figure if you have his boy, he's probably gonna come after you guys anyway."

Half-Elf Bard 5/Expert 2 HP 15/32 | AC 18/13/15 | F+2 R+7 W+10 | Per+15 Init+4

Rubin models his new piece of foppery for himself in front of the mirror. Needs a new pair of silk sock garters and some mother-of-pearl spats to go with it.

We delivered Jameson to you, so this Kracker guy is your problem now, right? If you tell us we can't take him, I guess we better bow out of this confrontation. Discretion is the better part of valor, as they say.

Lily looks at Rubin, and than addresses you as a group.

We are telling you to not "pick" the fight, but do not be surprised should the fight come to you since you are aligned with us. Plus we have Jameson, and I have never known Kräcktar to not deliver on the agreed upon terms. We have used him on a few occasions. He has certainly performed to our liking, but he never double dips, so trying to "buy" him off isn't possible unfortunately.

She takes a sip of wine, and ponders an idea. After a few moments, she smiles, Brother, why don't we send these three home, while we discuss the current state of affairs?

I suppose, you three can go home, or wherever you wish. You'll know if it's off limits. Good work

With that the three of you are dismissed, as the duo begin to quietly discuss the problem of Kräcktar. You make your way, unacossted by anyone. You bed down, even if your nerves are tense. Morning comes, and Chef cooks up a nice and filling my breakfast. You see a note slid under your door, it reads:

Meet at warehouse

There is no signature.

Pffff. There can be absolutely no way this is a trap. Chef says sarcastically.

"Darn, I wanted to go shopping for one of them magical cloaks. Oh well, let's get this over with, fellas. If we don't go to them, they'll just beat down our damn door." The half-orc says with a burp as he gathers his things.

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

Chef prepares Infusions of CLW,Long Arm and Enlarge. I have potions that will make someone big and make their arms stretchy

You can buy the cloak if you want. The organization knows a guy :)

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

You fellows think we need to buy anything in particular? I got about 1400 gold. Not enough for a magic weapon

Inactive

"Uh, wait. I think there's a guy around here that'll sell me one. Those cloaks protect against mind control, right?" Kraull asks with slight confusion as he runs off to find the organization's guy.

Purchasing a Cloak of Resistance +1.

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

Chef buys one as well, with matching colors.

I'm saving up for a new hat. Let's go see what's going on at the warehouse. I'll see if I can scout out what's going on in there before we just walk in to be delimbed. I may need a boost up onto the roof.

Upon arriving at the warehouse, Rubin attempts to climb onto the roof and find a hatch to spy on the interior.

Kraull does his best to give Rubin a boost up.

Climb (aid another): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Rubin begins to climb the side of the warehouse building, unable to find a good foothold or handhold. Chef tries to boost him up, but nothing. It's not until Kraull gives him a shove up that he is able to find a good path. On top he sees a small window, which he moves over to.

Inside the warehouse, you see a man, who appears to look like Sampson. It's hard to tell as all you see is his mop head hair, as you are 20 feet above ground.

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

Chef waits nervously.

Half-Elf Bard 5/Expert 2 HP 15/32 | AC 18/13/15 | F+2 R+7 W+10 | Per+15 Init+4

Rubin carefully slides back down off the roof.

All I can see is one guy, and he looks like he might be Sampson, I can't really tell. I say we head on in and meet our fate.

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

How about we attack from above? I have an Enlarge and Long Arm extract for people to drink

Inactive

"Well, Chef, we ain't exactly the best climbers. I say we just waltz in there with our weapons ready and go at 'em if he tries anything. Maybe have those potions of yours on us to drink in case of trouble." Kraull says, offering his opinion.

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

Okay, I can give you enlarge, and Rubin Long Arm

Gain 1 level overnight for finding, and capturing the runaway

After preparing yourselves for what you view as a likely trap, you slowly enter the warehouse. In front of you is indeed Sampson, and he looks quite perturbed.

Took your sweet time, shut the damn door so I can talk!

Once settled in, he continues, blunt and to the point as always.

So, Lily and I have a plan. Since we are the primary targets, and you are not, we are going to have you lay low. We have a shipment coming in through the docks in two nights. It's important the cargo arrives in pristine condition as our buyer is a picky customer. You will be on the crew, taking inventory, condition, etcetera of the shipment. You each will be given a job by the lead crewman, Big Mike, and you will listen to him. Until than, just lay low. I doubt Kräcktar will come harassing you at midnight, but Big Mike can handle himself should he try. Any questions?!

Half-Elf Bard 5/Expert 2 HP 15/32 | AC 18/13/15 | F+2 R+7 W+10 | Per+15 Init+4

Sounds easy enough. What could possibly go wrong? And two days of rest, that I can appreciate. Have no worries boss, your "cargo" is as good as delivered.

Rubin returns to Jack's tavern for a few pints. It's been a few days since he sent off his communication to Captain Trone, and he asks Jack if any response has arrived. Say Jack--great ale by the way--I've been waiting for a message from Jasper. I asked them to send it to your care. Have you received anything?

I'll level up later this week.

M Human Expert2/Alchemist5 HP38/40AC19T13FF16Per+8 Fort+7 (+12 poison/drugs +10 alcohol)Ref +8 Will +5

Chef heads back as well and steps into the kitchen to get a little part time work. He does seem to have gotten some more confidence and his cooking and alchemy skills have improved.

Inactive

"Yeah, I gotta question, Chief. What's the cargo? Can you at least give us a hint? If it's one of those lizards that turn guys to stone, I'm out. It happened once to an uncle of an old friend of mine, that's why I bring it up."

I'll work on get leveled up soon, maybe tonight.

Yea, any of the law who might be dropping in on a sudden raid?

No law...and don't worry you ain't gonna turn to stone big guy

Jack shakes his head, Nope, nothing yet Rubin. Maybe the other guy is thinking up a good response, don't know?

The ale is cold and the food warm, if basic.

Perception checks please, DC 20

Inactive

"That's not really my department, Rubin would be better for that." Kraull replies, sticking a meaty thumb out at the Bard.

Rubin gets the impression they are just a couple of drunkards, wanting to pick a fight. Neither one is brave enough to pick a fight with Kraull, but they seem to be be calling each other's bluff.

The right one stands up, walks over to the bar an orders another round. The whole while giving Kraull a glare.

Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

"Now, you're dead." Kraull says with grimace as the knife slides between two of his ribs. Acting quickly, Kraull pulls back a meaty fist and punches at the guy.

Punch - Power Attack: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 - 2 = 20
Lethal Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Kraull seems to shrug off the poison, that runs through his veins. He balls up his big fist, and punches the thug square in the face. The thug takes it, and withdraws from the big guy as the rest of the room breaks out into a bar fight.

The bartender lets out a sigh as he lets the fights ensure for about 30 seconds before he pulls out a pistol from under the counter and lets a shot, followed by a concussive *BANG* fill the bar.

Next one goes IN one of you!!

The bar settles down, fights cease one by one. No more shots are fired. The bartender looks to the three of you.

Best you three leave now, Rubin take care

The rest of the evening goes by uneventful, a good night sleep is had.

One day before night job. Plans?

After being 'asked' to leave the bar, Kraull remains outside for the man who tried to stab and poison him, evidently waiting to carry out the threat he made earlier. He paces back and forth outside the establishment for a few minutes before finding a place to sit away from view and wait.
