Kraull |
Kraull shoots a questioning glare over to Rubin, "If that's what happened, then you need to watch yourself. Those kind of mistakes get people killed."
Then his attention returns back to James, "Well, let's go through your crap and see what you bought for all that money." Following through with his word, Kraull begins to quickly open the boxes littering the hiding hole.

Rubin waits for a chance to speak with Chef and Kraull in the corner, out of earshot of the other two:
Yeah, sorry about that unexpected naptime. Anyway, I'm trying to recall what Captain Trone's exact instructions were, back when we left Jasper. Take down the crime boss here, but first find out a connection to the next group to be infiltrated. Maybe our chance is here now. Give James here a chance to escape, maybe even turn witness for the law. In return, we can pump him for information on Lily's contacts, maybe learn some of her weaknesses to take her down. Shall we see if James wants to play ball?
Kraull |
"Yeah, if you put me to sleep again, you gonna bet you'll be sorry." Kraull spits out angrily as Rubin attempts to smooth past the issue, then lowers his voice to add, "As for that guy, no way I'm letting him run free after he tried to kill me. Feel free to pump him for information, but either he goes back to Lily or he goes to jail. As for the guy upstairs, he's gonna be a major problem with this plan of yours unless you want to deal with him too. At least we'll get our money back."

You got it. Now let's see, which end do I point at you?...

Let's take a look at that statue. Although art appreciation isn't really my forte.
Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Now let's get back to Lily
DM Stylz |
The statue is worth about 15-20 gold if you find the right buyer. You heal up your brute squad and begin to head back towards town and Lily. You go past the stirges, or the blood stain remains of them.
A few hundred feet after the blood stains you see a trio of wolf-like creatures in a pack, and they have spotted you traveling.
Kraull |
"You got it." Kraull says as takes Chef's enlarging extract and imbibes it, then arms himself with his falchion.

Rubin moves back 30' from Kraull, will use crossbow next round.
DM Stylz |
Rubin recognizes the heats as a worg. Worgs are wolf-like creatures, who fight in packs and are quite skilled hunters. They are fearless predators.
Kraull grows in size while Rubin starts to inspire everyone. Moments after Rubin starts his inspirational lymrick, the trio of worgs, come barreling towards the large half-orc. He takes a swing at the first hairy beast to get near him. His club smashes interest the side, rubs break at the sheer force of the blow. It is undeterred and tries to bite at Kraull's feet.

Kraull takes a powerful bite to the leg, lucky fir him the wolf misses the femoral artery. The wolf twist and turns its powerful maw, trying to drag Kraull to the ground but his base is strong and he resists the creatures atttempt to bring the hulking brute to the ground.
He has little time to think though as the other two are on him just as quickly. The first bites into the other leg, drawing more blood but is unable to take Kraull down.

Even at 20 feet away, Rubin is spattered by blood and gore from Kraull's mighty slice. He loads and fires his crossbow at worg #2.

Rubin puts a crossbow bolt in the side of another worg. It glares at Rubin but the two coordinate their attacks by flanking Kraull and biting at him.

The first worg bites air, but this provides a valuable distraction as the second rips into Kraull's leg. Blood gushes as a main artery was savagely ripped open. Kraull is thanbrought down to the ground from all the violent ripping and thrashing.
Leroy watches on as Kraull is brought tumbling to the ground as blood is readily flowing from the wound. He figures now is a good a time as any as he rushes in to try and help the others.
Leroy double moves to get into melee next to worg #3
Kraull |
"You damn dogs, why couldn't you just leave us alone!" Kraull curses as he's brought low to the ground, beginning to bleed out. "I could probably use some magical healing now, guys." He says quietly as he takes one last swing of his falchion at the most injured worg and then quickly passes out.

Kraull's orchish heritage keeps him up for a few moments. Long enough to make a be more swing which connects with the worg's side. The sheer force of the blow at first staggers the beast, which falls seconds later. Kraull is quickly to follow into unconsciousness along with the second worg.
Rubin stands next to Kraull, keeping his distance from the line worg and its terrifying maw. Rubin casts achrativd spell that brings Kraull back to the land of sensible thought. The worg snarls at Rubin as he lends aid to Kraull. It than clamps its jaws around Rubin's leg, twisting and dragging him to the ground in a thump.

Damn beast!
Once the threats are dispatched, Leroy looks to you three if we rest, we travel to clear these bodies first

Once the adrenaline wears off, Rubin quietly whimpers at his mangled leg, but hobbles over to Kraull to offer him first use of their healing wand.

I could definitely use a fire and a drink. Let's set up camp for tonight. Do we have anything alcoholic?
DM Stylz |
You travel a couple hundred feet to clear the recent battle scene before setting up camp. You each tend to wounds and keep a watchful eye out for any trouble. The night goes by without incident, and you wake rested, despite bruised bodies and egos.
You begin towards town again, to deliver your human goods so to speak. You make good time and Leroy figures there is about 1 day left to travel. Evening comes, you begin to bed down, when the wind picks up a bit.
Perception checks please Leroy per: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Kraull and Chef see a small group of bats flying overhead. This is strange as bats usually dwell in caves, unless they are spooked from their caves. Their is also proof that some species of bat are carnivorous and enjoy a fleshy meal. They are roughly 100' above you and seem to be flying past you, with no intention of tryouts no to make you a meal. They are traveling in the same direction you are.
