XP isn't a big issue for me, in a game with decent RP, excellent setting, etc... like this.
But, my build is "gimped" (severely more vulnerable, less effective) at level 1. That was a risk, "by design" as we had a party of 8 and I figured we could lean on each other until we came into our own. I haven't let it get in the way of RP (war wolves, etc...).
But, I find myself curious... are we all just "leveling" at some plot points or are we accruing XP per encounter, bonus XP for RP/tactics/ideas, etc...
Plans, thoughts, comments? "Shut up," is an acceptable response.
Well, usually I prefer milestone levelling: "having defeated the Ogre you realise that the wizard that sent him must be stopped and set off. Everyone levels" style.
I don't think I'm giving much away if I say I planned on levelling people after the Farm.
I misread how spellbinder works. It only gives up arcane bond. I thought it was arcane bond and arcane school. So I need to pick an arcane school! I'm thinking conjuration (teleport).
Human Rogue (Scout/Knife Master) 3 , hp 21/21, AC 18(T16/FF12), CMD 18, Init +7, Perc +7. F+2/R+8/W+2
That is correct. Though he's not going to walk into pitch dark. I assume one of the others will have one and he's skulking about in the half light ahead of it.
Aku has dancing lights 3/day. Can we have him cast that since he is not here to cast it himself? It will only last a minute, but hopefully we will find a lamp or something.
Marching order will be:
Weyland in front a bit
Pepper
Anton
Shaezon
Aku
Tarek guarding the rear

Just an update. I'll be away on vacation from the 14th (Friday) to the 23rd (Sunday) of this month. I'm doubtfull I'll be near internet then, so feel free to 'bot' me during that period.
I'm confused about the initiative order. I think I went out of order before and there was no resolution of that action (jumping from the ceiling and attacking the fungus. Sorry if I messed things up.
Sorry - I should have said you hit it, and did damage.
The order did confused, because we changed your action (I don't want to penalise you if my description wasn't up to snuff).
Happy for you to take an attack action now. If you kill it (and it is possible to do so) it won't get to attack you!

I'm back from vacation now. A bit backed up at work though so it my posting may be absent or erratic over the next couple of days as I also try to catch up on all the posts of the games I'm in.
I am getting married in the next week and then honeymooning in St Lucia. So my posting will be intermediate to say the least until November 6th. Sorry for any inconvenience it causes anyone. I will be able to update the next few days, but will disappear for a while after that for a while. It is not due to lack of interest obviously.
Hey - Congratulations Pepper, late December for me :)
We're nearly through this part... I'll try to move things along a little. I think at this point you're unlikely to fight anything, so Everyone Levels!
I did want to do a debrief on how we've gone.
I might start it now, so Pepper can weigh in :)
I take feedback well, so everyone please feel free to speak up! This was my first PbP, and I can't help feeling I'm making some beginner's mistakes trying to apply my tabletop experience. Thanks for sticking with me :)
I think I really underestimated how lethal a team this was. Scarecrow was CR4, and was meant to be a huge threat stopped only by the fact you had amulets, but I think it would have been one-shotted in the cornfield if it hadn't run away!
I realise the spellcasters didn't get a lot of chance to shine this game... Sorry guys.
I guess I'm asking people what they liked, what they didn't like, how do they feel about the pacing, whether they want to continue the campaign as is, and whether they want to continue at all.
