Turns out I have American cell reception at the lake house we are staying at 8-), though I will be checking less often.

By the way guys, the profit opportunities can be performed (or not) in any order (this is a sandbox). The lowest starts at CR, so I'll try to scale up the challenge (and profit) for your level when you do it.

Some are time sensitive, but there'll also be more as time goes on.

If you want to do something else in particular, I'm happy to work with you as well.

Most of them involve moving the whole gang through enemy turf. A lot of gangs get a cut of the profit from people using their area so tend to let one or two gangers through at a time (after all, a lot of people belong to one gang or another). Moving a whole gang might get you a confrontation though (depending on the area, the gang, your relationship with them, the gang temperament and your reputation).

Anyone wants to hit up Grandmother feel free to do so. She's not over with you but she's in the next room.

@DM - Are we gonna RP setting up the jobs, or are we just going to go on them and assume setting them up is a non-issue? Besides Eric's offer.

Do we know the payouts?


ooc tell me which one you want to do, and I can cut to a scene. If the set up is hard then we can rp it. If it is "you meet a friend and say 'sure'" then I might skip to the adventure.

People should already have an idea of the risk and payoff - but not exact money in most cases.

Thanks guys, sorry about the fact we've ended up with two scenes spotlighting single characters.

Was thinking, what about this idea...
Start a new gameplay thread.
One gameplay thread can be used to do roleplay scenes while the other goes to the next scene.

Example:
One thread does the meeting with Vartan, negotiating, asking questions etc.
One thread deals with people going on the mission.

Would mean the previous scene would need to be predestined after a certain point (once X is on the mission, he can't decide not to go in the gameplay thread)

Hopefully would stop spotlighting being such an issue as it is unlikely to be the same people taking focus in both.

Might I suggest also... that time does not progress (assuming inaction) because of a lull in posting?

I think that's one of the reasons I post so often, when we were in combat rounds... I was afraid time was passing (during the lulls).

So, I constantly prodded or reminded of the "urgency" of the situation using free actions, speech, etc...

I was afraid "a whole bunch of stuff would happen" or "the war wolves would get impatient waiting", so I kept inserting Tarek.

Sorry about that. Not sure if it makes sense to anyone else.

It's the nature of play by post that there are lulls. It's not that things are stalling, its just that people can not always check the thread through the day. I wouldn't worry about another thread Harakani, just be patient.


Well, if everyone is okay with it that's fine. My DM reflexes go "a disengaged player! Quick! To the DM-mobile!" (ie push through this to a scene everyone can enjoy)

I don't have any problem with scenes that feature only one or a few of the characters, as long as it serves the greater group goals.

For character specific asides, just put it in a spoiler, no need for anything special.

As I see it, different characters get the focus under different situations, not every scene will require flying dagger attacks, people who max social skills should get to use them.

I'd suggest Pepper, Piper and Tre. Purposefully leaving out spell casters... And keeping them as our aces in the hole. Secret weapons.

Aku should go, either he or Anton will probably end up being the party face, since they are both CHA based characters.

Aku can take it. With his familiar and Skill Focus, he's rockin' thesocks off the Diplomacy and has a small bonus to Sense Motive (unlike Anton's -1), which can be helpful in social situations. Then there's the Intimidate which can come in handy as well. Anton has a higher Bluff at the moment, but that's nothing to write home about, and can easily be matched.

Another plus for Aku, is the Neutral alignment which makes for easier dealings with both the shadier and the golden types.
