Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |
Welcome, both of you.
We have a Bard, a Paladin, and an Adept (who will become a Wizard sometime in this book). It looks like the other new guy will be a skirmish type of cleric. Feels like most of the bases are covered, you are just more of whatever you make. A bit of free reign character-wise.
Threeshades |
My new character might not have any such aspirations, but you never know, right? :)
@Isilma
Inquisitor you say. I had an inquisitor for the previous WotR campaign I was in that was stopped dead in its tracks before it really started. I might go with that unless i come up with something else that i would rather play by tomorrow.
Threeshades |
Two more questions are ACG classes allowed (I believe warpriest has already been mentioned)?
and in the races you mention catfolk being allowed, how do they relate to the worldwound? As far as I know they are native only to extremely remote locations (southern garund and somewhere in the dragon empires). I think i would like my character to be one, but I don't understand how they relate to the campaign or the region.

I AM fine with the advanced playtest classes, but not ALL of them. I will accept arcanists, bloodragers, hunters, investigators, slayers, and warpriests.
Mostly I put catfolk in because they're an extremely adventurous and far-ranging race and it would make sense to me if one came to the Worldwound on some pilgrimage and would stay because of a newfound hatred for demons or somesuch.
Shirraj |
I think i will make a couple of changes, looking at teamwork feats, a ranged hunter barely synergizes with its AC while if both go melee, there is a lot more possible.
EDIT: changes done
below is my animal companion.
Killian Shard |
I had considered going with a Hunter myself, but passed over it because I didn't feel like dealing with the extra bookkeeping a full animal companion requires. Doubly glad I did, because I really like what you've got, Threeshades. Shirraj and Sinjin look sweet!
As for the hitpoints, you can either roll or take the average. If you roll and roll poorly, you're stuck with the roll. You seem to have pleased the dicebot though, unlike me! =P
leinathan |
So you can either roll or you can take 1/2 hit points. You rolled, and well, so go ahead and take that hit point result for both you and your companion.
I'll try and tie in the two new players soon enough, just get me a confirmation that the Desnan is done.

My Skull & Shackles game died, and I have decided to scrap it and start over with Mummy's Mask. As such I have started an invite only recruitment thread, and everyone here is encouraged to apply to the game. I still have a few players from the previous game, so am only looking for 2 players. I may possibly need up to 4, based on whether all my S&S players are staying or not, in order to get a 6 person team.

It's times like this when the differences between PbP and FtF really sharpen to me. FtF character interaction can be immediate and visceral, more authentic, less crafted. I wouldn't have hesitated to deliver a line like that in an FtF game. Here...I hesitated. Mostly because I don't want to be a spotlight-hog (I do more than my fair share of that in Nathan's CotCT game!).
On the other hand, I probably wouldn't have gotten the archaic usages right in a PbP game, so there's that :)

I've generally found the opposite - In my experience, people get far less into their characters in FtF games. I don't think you're being a spotlight hog at all (in either game).
Apologies for my absence of late, I have been rather ill (once again).
leinathan |
I agree - it takes a long, long time to develop a FtF character to the point that you can develop a PbP character in character creation.
Like, I've had a witch in my FtF Carrion Crown game since September, she's level 11, and other than being a b&&@@ that doesn't like other people getting what they want, I have no idea what she's like.
Isilma Edasseril |
Well, have bit of background that's definitely colored my personal experience a bit. Last time I had an FtF gaming group was in college, and about half of us were actors.
Lysbeth Moonborn |
Ahh yes that does very much change things. Despite being in our late 20's and having gamed for a number of years, my FtF games tend to involve everyone being Chaotic-Neutral/Evil psychopaths. I came online largely for scheduling reasons (though I'm also better in text than speaking), and I prefer this format so very much more.
I just started playing Shadowrun with an FtF group, which is the first time in over a year that I've done that kind of gaming (I still play board games with my friends roughly four times a month), and I'm already finding so many ways in which it pales compared to the online style.
Isilma Edasseril |
Killian runs his hand back across his bald pate in growing discomfort as Horgus and Aravashnial react to Lysbeth's revelation and as Mulluq'Tar then responds in kind to Horgus. "Besides, regardless of who each of our fathers may or may not be, we're all on this road together, like it or not. And honestly, which of us here can truthfully say they didn't inherit some bothersome character trait from their father, hmm?" He grins sheepishly at the group, still rubbing his hand along the top of his head.
Isilma Edasseril |
Quick, marching order!
Aravashnial is going to stand by Isilma, obviously, and Anevia by Lysbeth, while Horgus is going to take the very back spot.
Put me and Aravashnial aft of Anevia and Lysbeth, please.
Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |
Mulluq has been acting as point guard for the time they've been down here. He is either first, or beside someone at the front. He would not let any of the others be so close to possible danger.

Darkvision
Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black-and-white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise—invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision.
Emphasis mine. Regardless of light I see 60' in darkness. If the light is 20', with 20' of dim. I can see fine in the black and white spectrum of darkvision (no miss chance) in the 20' of dim light and another 20' beyond.
leinathan |
Oh, my mistake, then. I'll remember, in the future, to explain what it is that you see.
So we've got Shirraj and Mulluq side-by-side in front (well, Killian is in front of them, but that's cause he charged up). Shirraj and Mulluq also have Sinjin with them.
Anevia and Lysbeth right behind them.
Isilma and Aravashnial right behind them.
Horgus behind them.

Hey guys, I have a somber announcement.
When it comes to these boards, I didn't really know where my limits are, and I'm afraid I took on too many responsibilities. When I thought about how to deal with it, the only real solution that I have is to cut games.
Unfortunately, this game falls low on my list of priorities, and I don't think I have the time to commit to it to make it the game that it deserves to be. I have other games that have been running longer that I am far more invested in. Thus, I have to stop GM-ing this one. In fact, all of you are in games that I'm more invested in (Aardvark's Shattered Star, my Legacy of Fire, my Curse of the Crimson Throne, my Rise of the Runelords).
I hope you understand, and know that it isn't a reflection on any of you, but rather a reflection of my own poor long-term planning.
If you're interested at all and there's a hole in your PbP gaming, I do have spaces in other games of mine - these are the games that I was referring to that I am more invested in. Both slots call for a divine character. One game is my Rise of the Runelords AP. That one, please PM me about if you're interested - I'm not entirely sure that the missing player is entirely gone, but I want to be prepared in case he is. The other game is my Legacy of Fire game. The recruitment thread for that game is active, so if you're interested, go ahead and just drop in there.
Again, I'm sorry for letting you down. I'll be inactive-ing this thread in a couple of days to free up your campaign tabs (and mine).
