You reach the island quickly. The ground is sloped, but not enough to cause any mechanical effect. Should we see what's at the top? Vira asks.

Ebonfeather holds the boat steady as others disembark, then drags the boat up on shore to make sure it doesn't float away.


As you summit the volcano, you find yourself staring at a stone platform suspended above the center. In the center of the platform there is a small pedestal on which a flaming greatsword resides. The flames are sticking to the blade, and not the hilt. On the far side of the platform is a gold throne. A young man sits on this throne. When you appear he smiles.

I am Jason, guard of the Blade. You must kill me if you wish to take the Fire Swiftblade. Or of course you could steal it with some deft fingers. Or you could magically transport it out of the cave. Or you could... you get the point. But rest assured that if you try to remove it, I will fight back.

Umberto sets his Lucerne hammer down, shrugs, then draws his great sword, preferring the close quarters weapon for this duel.

"Are we to fight you altogether or one-on-one?"


Altogether Jason says. He turns to Ebonfeather. I could use a little action, and a fight would do my boredom good - even if it ends me.

In other words, fight him to get xp so you can level up and make up for the amazing diplomacy rolls in the mage guild

Resolving a potential combat situation through use of role playing usually still results in earning xp. If that is not the case, I can certainly stop talk to people. ;)

I have received requests to do on-screen dice rolls on one of my other campaigns.

What you notice about Jason: wearing no armor, just a robe, two metal wrist guards reside on his... wrist.

Vira's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13


It would appear that Drahz has gone on vacation, I can't find any activity from him from before the 13th. As such, I will roll his initiative and then we can start combat.

I fixed link sharing. Due to complications, I will be taking over Drahz for the time being. This is the crest of the volcano. You guys start at the bottom of the map.

How far away is he? Umberto moves as far as he needs to move to get in position for a melee attack. If he may then perform a standard action, he attacks as rolled above. If not, then he does not attack.

I fixed the link (again) and confirmed it is working.

Since you crest the volcano at the bottom of the map, you cannot attack. You can, however, run towards him.


To answer your question, Umberto, you cannot attack Jason this round with your 20 foot move speed. You can, however, move forward 20 feet, and then replace your standard action with another move action. Would you like to do this?
