Sulan Kator |
If Anton attacks he will probably go after blue. So assuming either that or he isn't attacking, I will post now to save time, and it can be resolved after.
Sulan rushes forward with his axe held high.
"By the Sun's Fire!"
Greataxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d12 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Moving up to the white 'S'. Ael is in the way so I cannot charge, so it's just a normal 20' move, then standard attack.
Khazima al-Nadra |
Ruffled and bothered, the eagle continues attacking the bandit, most of its flurry missing, but one talon opening a deep cut across his face.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Crit?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Talon 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Khazima, meanwhile, sees a bandit approaching and nervously draws and loads a crossbow.
Ael Sunspear |
Ael steps slightly to his side, takes his time to measure the bandit next to his halfling ally... And strikes his target.
fauchard: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
(not sure if Ael and Anton vale are considered to be flanking the bandit, if so, add +2 to the attack roll)
In game terms: 5ft-step to the right, Studied Target vs the Vandit next to Anton Vale and attack.
Naerah al Bashae |
Nearah laughs as it is clear that her foes are breaking before her. She steps forward and continues her flaming assault.
I'll take a 5-foot step forward and to the right and once again use my firebolt ability, targeting the red bandit.
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Sulan Kator |
I'm assuming Anton will use his turn to take out orange, so...
Round 2
axe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Sulan swings his axe again, but fails to connect. His axe bites nothing but the sandy ground.
"Stand still you little runt!"
Khazima al-Nadra |
Bite: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 22 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Talon 3: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
As the eagle continues to peck and scratch at the bandit's eyes, Khazima takes a cautious crossbow shot past Ael, at the bandit he's attacking.
Attacl: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16 damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Ael Sunspear |
Ael moves forward and strikes.
fauchard: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
I attack whatever bandit is closest to me (and still fighting).
If necessary, I move close enough to strike, of course.
Naerah al Bashae |
Naerah presses the attack seeing only one bandit standing.
I'll move 15 feet forward and use my flame bolt ability against the red bandit, taking a -4 for shooting into melee
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 2 - 4 = 1
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
"Blast and burn" Nearah curses as she twists her wrist trying to avoid hitting Ael and scorches the sand rather than her target.
Sulan Kator |
Round 3
I go after Anton, but I'm guessing he will move to get into flanking position with me against red. So Sulan will wait until there is a flank (either with Anton or until someone else moves there) And will then full attack.
"Fighting to the last, eh? I can respect that!" Sulan swings again, and this time also snaps at the bandit with his tusks!
axe +2 flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 71d12 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
bite +2 flank: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) - 1 + 2 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Dang!
If there is someone else who wants to flank with Anton (or whoever is north of the bandit) I will then move 5' to the right.
Ael Sunspear |
I don't mind acting out of order when we are next to each other... Is only when people start posting way before their turn that it gets confusing.
fauchard: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
...
Well... I guess I should have waited. :P
Sulan Kator |
Okay, waiting for Khazima and then the bandit goes. Then Anton, then me. I'm going to post my next action here now to speed things up. I will full attack unless the bandit has moved. If he moves away, just use my greataxe roll for the AoO I would normally get.
Round 4
"Come on, fight you weakling!" Sulan roars as he continues to battle the last bandit.
Axe +2 flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 151d12 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Bite +2 flank: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) - 1 + 2 = 101d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Probably both misses. :(
Khazima al-Nadra |
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
As its quarry drops, the eagle swiftly turns its attention to the next bandit, swooping in and snapping viciously at its ear. As it does so, Khazima reloads her crossbow and takes another hesitant shot.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 4 = 7
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Sulan Kator |
"Hah! That took longer than it ought to have."
Sulan begins rifling through the belongings of the downed bandit.
"Let's see if they have anything useful. Then, we can close that bloody gate! Who would leave an open gate unguarded, anyway? Or an unguarded gate open?"
LegitGM |
Each one is wearing studded leather and carries a rapier. They each have a small gold pouch deep within their habiliments, totaling 33gp. Most of it comes from the red bandit, who also has a rolled up piece of paper. Should you unroll it, you will find a map of the surrounding area with strange markings.
Sulan Kator |
Sulan unrolls the scroll, and tries to decipher the map.
"Hey, guys, look at this! Anyone know what these symbols mean?"
Sulan tries to correlate some of the symbols to things he knows about the area.
I don't have Linguistics but I do have Knowledge (geography).
knowledge (geography): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Ael Sunspear |
"I don't know the city well enough to say with certainty... But the markings must be places in which the bandits were interested. Maybe it can give us a clue of what they were planning."
Naerah al Bashae |
Naerah laughs as the last of her foes falls. She smiles, the sun glinting brightly off of her white teeth. Once it is clear that no more foes are going to arrive she drops to her knees, facing toward the sun, brow pressed to the hot sand. She speaks softly, as if in prayer.
"Thank you sun for your fire, and thank you Nethys for mine." She completes this short ritual and stands back up. "I would say that the open gate served it's purpose wonderfully. She says to Sulan "without it these lowlifes likely wouldn't have mustered up the courage to throw themselves into our waiting defence.
She walks over rolling her shoulders in their sockets and looks at the map.
"I know little of maps and markers, but perhaps you are right Ael." She looks out over the sand. "There will be more of these people out there. If we can figure out their goals they will be all the easier to cleanse"
Sulan Kator |
"Well, we're here at the north gate, and there were dots here. There are also dots by the east gate. Maybe that means there will be an attack there too."
"Let's get this gate closed and then head there."
Sulan makes sure to strip the bodies of whatever is valuable and then (unless there are any objections) heads to the east gate.
Ael Sunspear |
Ael checks to see if any of the bandits is still alive, being careful to use his fauchard to push away any weapon they are holding before approaching them...
(I take 10 on Perception/Sense Motive to see if any of them are faking being unconscious and/or to notice anything else that might deserve notice). Total: Perception 18 ; Sense Motive 17.
Sulan Kator |
Sulan has already indicated he intends to head for the east gate unless the rest of the rest of the group has a better idea.
And no interest in the rapier (I'm not proficient).
Anton Vale |
Anton watches the work done and helps where he can, taking care to get his cut of the loot.
He'll look at the map and try to puzzle through it, but doesn't really get anything. "Most I can tell is that these are points of interest to the bandits. Gotta go take a look to find out what they are exactly though."
Ael Sunspear |
"Such a waste... They could have surrendered and redeemed themselves, eventually free to lead long, productive lives... Now they are reduced to food for carrion-eaters and spoils to their slayers." says Ael.
Somewhat disappointed, but not distracted from his mission, he adds: "Well... They are Pharasma's business now. My duty is to the living."
Ael makes a quick prayer to Sarenrae after searching the bandits, then splits the coins evenly among his allies and himself. He gives the rapier to whoever asks for it... If no one cares, he hangs it at his belt to sell later.
All that done, he accompanies Sulan to the east gate.
Sulan Kator |
"Everyone is food for buzzards in the end. The sand covers all, and nothing remains of the weak or the mighty. But at least they died on their feet."
He heads off towards the east gate.
"Let's see what these other marks are."
LegitGM |
When you get to the gate, you find 4 guards locked in a melee with some bandits. The 6 rapier-wielding bandits have the guards flanked, while two orcs are relaxing in the shade of a sand-dune, lazily fingering their clubs.
The gate is open and the guards are just past it. I will get a battle map up tonight or on Monday morning.
Sulan Kator |
"Looks like the dots on the map are battle positions," Sulan remarks.
He hefts his axe again, and looks at the others. He grins.
"Shall we?" he says. Then he turns and runs towards the battle.
