She looks over at Terra with a strange look on her face, "What are you talking about? I don't hear anything."

Terra has a confused look on her face, like she doesn't understand why others don't hear what she is hearing.

the voice. It's like calling us, or me, somewhere. it started once I reached the shore. You don't hear it?

Terra tries to figure out a direction to go based on the voice she is hearing.

She looks at Terra a little worried, "So....what is this voice telling you exactly? Isn't it weird that you're the only one that can hear it? Are you sure you're feeling alright T?"

Terra looks at each of her friends, I feel fine, Look, I don't know what is going on here, but something here is calling me. I don't know why, but I think its strange considering I really don't understand where "here" is.

While not entirely sure, the 'voice' seems to be coming from further in the island.

"It really is strange, but I rather that than have something wrong with you Terra. I was beginning to think you were starting to lose it for real or something." She sighs, there had been way too much weirdness as of late.

At first you thought it was a trick of the light, but you're sure it isn't. Two of the shallow tide pools were slowly, very slowly, moving towards you.

She points to the little puddles moving towards them, "Those things seem to be coming towards us and I have no idea what they are."

Chris looks over where Gashka indicates and studies the strange moving puddles.

Given the nature of the pools, you're fairly certain they are Mudlords.

"Mudlords!" Chris exclaims to the group. "Highly territorial elementals made of living mud. They're resistant to all sorts of damage except magic, and they have a bit of protection against that as well. Don't let them engulf you."

She shakes her head, "Then I say we get the hell outta here. They are moving super slow, why don't we just walk away and explore more of this obvious death trap?"

Terra thinks for a bit, mudlords? made of mud?, well that's half dirt.

she cracks her knuckles, I may have got this.

not sure how this will work out but I have an idea

Terra has a full ki pool so her attacks are considered magic, cold iron, and silver for DR

Terra stands between the pools and the group. she plants her feet on the ground, and she tries to tear the dirt from the water that makes the mudlord whole.

attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
damage: 4d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 8, 3, 1) + 5 = 22
bullrush if a hit: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

using boulder toss to damage the mudlord, not sure if there would be any bonuses for being part earth. basically using the earth that composes the mudlord as the boulder. (basically using the mechanics but the effect is ripping the mudlord apart. if that makes any sense.

If that will not work then just toss a boulder at the thing.

While Terra did not manage to tear the earth from the creature, she did manage to actually toss at the other one. Unfortunately, she missed, but the one she threw landed rather hard. The other one then rose up in a roughly humanoid shape.

Dashing towards where Terra faces the oncoming monsters, Anyka sends her tripling dagger hurtling forward, one duplicate sailing between the two while each of the others plunges right through the face of a mudlord.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
4d8 ⇒ (2, 8, 3, 8) = 21

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
4d8 ⇒ (7, 1, 8, 8) = 24

Odds are it doesn't matter but included the SA damage since I beat their init. if it counts.

Both of Anyka's daggers manage to hit their mark, the closest one taking the blade to the face. The Mudlord that Terra threw, got up lobbed a ball of goopy mud at Anyka....

Ranged Touch Attack vs Anyka: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

...striking her dead in the face, making it impossible to see. Blind at the moment.

Meanwhile the one closes to Terra flung its 'arms' at her.

Slam 1 w/ Lunge: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15

Slam 2 w/ Lunge: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Damage 2: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2) + 3 = 11

Grab: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

While Terra managed to dodge one limb, the other slammed into her and wrapped around her waist.

Anyka, Reflex vs DC 16 to remove mud from eyes.

Cursing loudly Anyka shakes her head, trying to get the mud out of her eyes as the dagger flies unerringly back to her hand.

Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10


Unfortunately Anyka, that means you'll need to use a Standard Action on your next turn to remove the mud. Unless someone else gets to you and does so. Until then, you're blind.

I still get another chance next turn, and one every turn as a free action.

Each round on its turn, the target can attempt a DC 16 Reflex save as a free action; if successful, the target shakes off the mud. The target or an adjacent creature can wipe off the mud as a standard action.

Ok, that makes sense


Might be a moot point anyway, there are five others capable of helping you before your next turn anyway. We'll see. I'm more curious to see what Terra does being grappled with a mud creature.

Already feeling unsettled on the strange island she's barely able to restrain her rage as she watches her friends be assaulted by the globs of mud. Taking a deep breath she fights for control of herself as she goes to Anyka to help her get the muddy goop off of her face so she can see again. Walking up to her she's careful to identify herself, "It's just me Sis, let me help you get that junk off your face. This is no time for a facial." She doesn't know why she makes the silly joke, maybe it's to help calm herself more than anything. She had to stay focused, she couldn't chance losing control again.

Walking over to Anyka and helping her get the mud out of her eyes.

Gashka's voice, and the smartass comment for which the sisters were all known, pushes down the building panic of being blind in a fight. As Gashka helps her remove the mud she flashes her a grin. "Can't argue with that. Thanks sis. Let's go @#$% these things up!"
