Fraejia |
Realizing that everyone but Neve seemed hesitant of going through the malfunctioning doorway Fraejia decided to lead the way and show how to do it. She went to the door and simply ducked under it as it went up. Now on the other side she knelt down and made a gesture for the others to do the same and enter before turning back to start looking for her things.
Legend-wait-for-it-dary GM |
The malfunctioning door is trying to close, but getting stuck near the top and retracting before attempting to lower again. You may get under it, and there is no check required to do it. However, it does appear to be getting fractionally lower each time it makes the attempt to close. If it gets past whatever is causing the problem, it may close all the way.
Artirian |
Artirian ducks under the door and gestures for Jaxel come in and help move all the gear into the main room.
"Ég held Fraejia er að finna gír okkar. Hjálpa mér að færa allt til helstu herbergi svo við getum tekið dótið okkar í frístundum."He calls out.
I think Fraejia's found our gear. Help me move everything to the main room so we can pick our stuff at leisure.
Artirian looks through the stuff to see if there's anything capable of propping up the door.

Aurexil |
After watching the door for a few cycles, Aurexil says, "Við viljum að drífa þetta upp. Það er að fá aðeins lengra niður í hvert skipti."
That said, she ducks under the door herself. After a quick glance around the room, she finds her glaive and armor. Grinning widely, she tosses her makeshift weapon aside, then puts her light mail shirt on. Last, she picks up her glaive, examining its blade.
"Lítur út eins og þeir tóku vel á því," she says approvingly.
While she's at it, she grabs a couple of javelins and a short spear. Then it occurs to Aurexil they may belong to the Bahgra.
"Segja, AefPakka gætirðu sagt þá aðra hluti sem efni þeirra er líklega hér líka?" She shouts back out to the Kasatha.
AefPakka Shantiss |

"Segja, AefPakka gætirðu sagt þá aðra hluti sem efni þeirra er líklega hér líka?" She shouts back out to the Kasatha.
AefPakka hurries over and ducks into the room. He grabs the nearest weapon that looks like there are several of, and holds it out carefully in two hands offering it to the nearest bahgra. "Wargle?"
Then with his other two arms, he motions the bahgra to approach, then gestures to the shelves of equipment, and finally points to the floor outside this room. "Gragglarug gurigga?"
Help move?
To the others, he says "Myndi þetta fara hraðar með línu fötlun burt við hvert annað? Við ættum að tryggja að það er meira af okkur fyrir utan herbergið en í henni ef við getum ekki haldið dyrunum opnum."
"Ó, og ganga úr skugga um að við arm upp áður en þeir gera ...", nodding slightly at the bahgras, "Aftur, bara í málinu." AefPakka then starts trying to help pass along equipment down a line, keeping an eye out for his belongings.
Oh, and make sure we arm up before they do... again, just in case.
AefPakka doesn't mind taking the risk of staying in the room to pass along items. With his 4 arms, maybe he can even get things off shelves and passed along faster! ;) Either way, he is more interested in it moving quickly than discussing the best option.

The Bahgra are happy to see their leather armor, scimitars, longbows, and arrows as well. The help each other get the armor on and bark out a "Better. Kill Bad Guys." to Aelfpakka.
By the time you get all of the gear you need from the room, the door is coming almost 1/2 way down, and seems to be going down farther by greater increments as time goes on; it may not be safe to spend too much longer looking for any other treasures that may be lurking.
Aurexil |
Aurexil casts a worried eye at the door as it inches further down.
"Allt í lagi, allir út!" She shouts suddenly, as she notices how much further it's getting now.
She herself stood in back, waiting for everyone else to leave before she did.
Fraejia |
Freajia found the one thing she cared to keep, her jewelry was gone but that she could live without. This item was something that was solely her's, a gift from her parents before she began her travels. She put the item in place and it made a humming sound as it did something, grabbed her old clothing, stuff that no one here seemed likely to wear, and quickly ducked under the doorway before it closed completely. She looked at the group once they had all regathered and said, "Come, we leave now."
Legend-wait-for-it-dary GM |
As the last person exits the room, the door finally manages to close all the way, a slight sound of something snapping as it does so catching in the ears of those with sharp senses. This leaves you once again in the hallway.
A few minutes of donning armor and checking weapons leaves you ready to proceed, a number of doors to choose from.
Aurexil |
Aurexil shrugs slightly.
"Við skulum reyna ... þetta" she says, going to the north-east door and looking for another of those button things.
Fraejia |
While Neve dealt with the lift button Fraejia went to check out one of the other doorways. She approached it cautiously to see if it would open on it's own and, if it didn't, looked for a button that could be pushed to open it.
Artirian |
Artirian goes to the panels to see if he can find out what makes them tick.

Aurexil |
There's an interesting question... do any of us have Disable Device? XD
Starting to get frustrated with the lack of progress, Aurexil growls, "Ef við höldum ekki að fá í gegnum dyr, ég ætla að byrja að sjá um roknahögg þá nið."
Neve Aurora |
თუ ყველა სხვა კარი დაკეტილია, მაშინ მოდით უბრალოდ წასვლა!
Neve points towards the ceiling.
Legend-wait-for-it-dary GM |
Artirian thinks there might be some kind of magical sensor behind the panels next to the doors. Prying off one of these panels (as might be suggested by Neve or Aurexil, who suspect technology rather than magic) reveals a series of vein-like vines rather than electrical circuits, however. You suspect that you may be able to manipulate them in order to get the doors open. Might be a bit easier with the right skills and/or tools.
And then there is the option of trying to pry or bash the doors in. Of course, it's difficult to say what exactly the doors are made of.
Aurexil |
Aurexil, unable to understand Neve's suggestion, looks over at her.
"Þú ert með hugmynd um hvernig á að komast í gegnum þessar dyr?"
Artirian |
Artirian tries to trigger the sensor by waving his hand at the sensor location.
If that fails/cannot be done
Artirian prods the vein like things using prestidigitation.
AefPakka Shantiss |
AefPakka looks Artirian's shoulder at the panel. Saying to anyone who understands him, "Ef við viljum að bíða smástund, ég galdra sem gæti hjálpað okkur við þetta." He nods over to the bahgra, "Ég get athugað með þeim aðra eins og heilbrigður."
AefPakka turns to the bahgra. With two hands he twiddles his fingers at the panel mimicking working on the vines while his other two hands point at the door, "Rurr... lar Ruarr?" Then he mimics hitting the door with his shoulder as if to bash it in, "GrroOWwl lar ruarr rurr?"
Sorry for being absent recently. Jumping back in now. If we want to wait an hour, AefPakka can get some Disable Device skill, but no tools.
Fraejia |
Fraejia came back to the lift and started to examine it in the hopes of figuring out a means of activating it. She worked on opening the panel and found the vein like vines which she began to fiddle with in the hopes of figuring out how to make the lift function.

Legend-wait-for-it-dary GM |
Fraejia thinks the biotech might be stimulated by short electrical impulses, or possibly manipulated with tools. She is pretty sure that severing the cords would likely permanently lock the door.
Before she can relate this, however, a door across the hall opens up. Four creatures with milky -white eyes and calcified green exoskeletal skin plates emerge. One points a claw in your direction, saying in common "Prisoners! Return to your cells immediately or suffer pain!"
The one behind it repeats the phrase in galactic common while another repeats it in the Bahgra's language. While the leader grips its sword, the others carry odd-looking muskets (or rifles to the more advanced among you.)
I'll give everyone a chance to reply before rolling initiative "if" a fight breaks out. My apologies for the oversight in regards to not picking any PCs with disable device immediately available. There are other options for opening the doors which might be easier to try when you know you've taken care of the guards in the immediate area, maybe. Also, above when I said Aurexil I meant Fraejia in regards to recognizing the "tech".
Artirian |
"Vostede foron os que nos capturados e poñer-nos aquí? Por que fixo iso?" Artirian asks the creatures angrily.

Waiting for an answer. If it doesn't satisfy me, I'm going to sic Jaxel on them.
Aurexil |
"Let us go or suffer death," Aurexil replies, lowering her glaive and baring her teeth.
Aurexil could pick up Disable Device. She doesn't have a lot of skill points to spare, though.

Unsure of what is being said, but reading the mood very clearly, AefPakka holds two of his hands out, trying to calm everyone, while he takes out his tiltik - a kasatha musical instrument. Sort of a cross between a sitar and steel drums that needs 4 arms to play.
"සන්සුන්, මගේ මිතුරන්. ලේ අවශ්ය නෑ."
He then starts to play and sing a traditional kasatha folk song to try and calm the mood.

If Neve has a clear shot at them she readies an action to Color Spray them if they become hostile. If there are group members in the way she'll shoot them.
AefPakka Shantiss |
Given how the rest of us reacted... yeah, don't think that'll work. :D I enjoyed it, though!
No worries. I doubted it, too. But it's what AefPakka would try, and that "traditional kasatha folk song" seemed appropriate for him. :)
With the instrument (and his voice) rather out of tune given their recent treatment, AefPakka is making sure to stay back and not be between the groups.

Knowing this was trouble, and realizing that hostilities were inevitable, Fraejia quickly moved to cover and then sent a burst of sheer cold from her hand at the nearest of their presumed captors. It lanced across the space headed straight for her chosen target.

AefPakka moves up to get a clearer view of the new creatures, drawing his starknife as he moves. I am assuming the bahgras are considered friendly creatures for movement purposes.
