"I must be losing my mind because I'm actually starting to think that sounds like a good idea..." the summoner replies with a shake of her head as she maneuvers into the room and against the western wall in order to get a better firing angle.

Taking aim, she attempts to shoot at the one already injured by Ravboom's Boomrav.

Totally forgot about it... Bleak's heightened awareness would push him ahead of the klaven in the initiative count... so he can go with his Strength Enhancing Mutagen in Round 1 before they climb out... and now, take another action!!!

Sweet. Also, I'm sorry I keep forgetting to move my character on the map-this is the only game I'm in that currently uses a board like this, so I'm always forgetting it's there. Going to take out the guy above me first, so then I can move down and flank with Relas for that sweet, sweet sneak attack damage if he still needs help.

Blekk goes ham on the klaven.

Ravboom, with the Boomrav exploding a violent retort, and Solie with the more subtle crossbow combine to send the closest of the klaven stumbling... but the inflicted injuries aren't quite enough to stop the beast... and Biggun, expressing his distaste at the trident, misses wildly...

Blekk and Relas, both preferring to engage in bloody melee, find the newly-'birthed' Klaven to be poor opponents... in a flurry of tooth and claw, the two klaven lie dead within seconds.

...the last remaining klaven, still bleeding heavily from the wound inflicted by the Boomrav, steps towards Ravboom - and slashes at him with dreadful claws...

Indeed, the small goblin puts a lead ball between the creature's eyes! Blood and gray matter spray over Biggun!


Ravboom, reacting furiously to the klaven's attack, brings the Boomrav up... and explodes its brain over the far wall!!!

"Biggun no need brains, not know what to do with them if have them." Rav says, shaking slightly as he drops out of rage. "Stupid claw thing." He kicks the corpse. "Yo, fancy lady, you know what symbols mean?" He asks the caster out in the hallway. "If not, maybe we take them and find out what they do later. Maybe worth money. Someone use wand on Rav, Rav not used to playing Biggun."

"That went better than usual, even if that last one almost shredded Rav," Palo sighs, always relieved to see the end of combat. "Come on, let's get Rav patched up and keep moving. Just one more floor to go..." she says, her voice actually hopeful for a change.

"High five?" Relas laughs as he manages to pull off the maneuver, with a bit of awkwardness. "High five! I like it! Is this the adult version of the slappy-hands game I've seen little ones play?"


Whilst Andretta shrugs when she is asked what she believes the strange syringes may contain, BR-N3R matter-of-factly states, ”These syringes are provided for invigoration of marginal klaven subjects… the injectable substance is designated as Haemochem; a substance that stops bleeding and promotes healing”.

A single dose of Haemochem II grants fast healing (2) for 1 minute… multiple grades of this pharmaceutical exist, these syringes (3 in total) contain grade II.

…with nothing more to be discovered on this level and with the promise of a ‘Gate’ on the level above, the group make their way back to the vertical shaft…

It is a DC10 Climb to ascend the vertical shaft to the third (and final) level of Garsilt... By taking 10 and with assists, etc everyone can make the climb safely...

The climb to the third level of the Garsilt Research Facility is slightly shorter than the previous climb from the level where the friends first awoke... but, with so very far to fall in the unfortunate event of a misplaced grip or foot, some of the group are quite exhausted when they clamber through the wreckage of the double doors... below them, the Bhagra also make their way upwards…

...there is precious little light to greet them as the group emerge from the climb… and the smell of smoke hangs heavy in the air. Moving as quietly as possible, the group take stock... and are quick to hear voices, speaking a quiet alien language, coming from an open area to the west of the vertical shaft...

Ravboom takes one of the injectors, and grunts. "Good know. Good Brainer." He injects himself with the device, and grins as his wounds begin to close over. Then he puts the other two injectors in his belt pouch. "May need be able to heal guy with heal wand so he can use it."

Once Blekk climbs up the shaft, he sighs. Darkness again. He whispers as quietly as he can. "Rav. See anything? Asking for Palo, she can't see in dark."

Long since out of magic and tired from all the fighting and climbing that's happened since they first awoke, Palo feels practically exhausted by the time the group makes their way up to the third level. Leaning against a nearby wall, she tries to catch her breath - quietly, so as not to alert the voices they can hear from nearby.

"What...what Blekk said..." she wheezes. "Need...to fix that...Darkvision would work wonders..."


The ‘brainer’ responds to Ravboom as it scuttles up the vertical shaft, ”Area 3, Designation North contains the Power Raising Units for Garsilt Research Facility – Area 3, Designation South is Communications and Maintenance – Garsilt Gate and Specimen Receipt is located to the west of the Lift Shaft”

Having listened to the voices coming from the west, Andretta whispers, ”The voices… they’re speaking Ultari… I think it must be the guards. They’re assessing their rations and determining how long they can hold out against species 361-3569 – two of their number have already fallen to the Void Death… and, they’re saying something about Lomrick being overdue returning with reinforcements”.

Sneaking out from beyond the central column, Ravboom sees that there are at least four of the lizardfolk-like guards in the open area to the west of the friends – the open area in which the guards are gathered has a sunken floor in the centre, approximately a foot and a half lower than the main floor, and two large wooden enclosures – almost like cages – to the south of the sunken floor.

Thus far, the group have not been noticed… actions?

Charge and kill, or get some metal shards from downstairs, and throw big satchel of shards and boompowder into pit guards are standing in and blow them up with Boomrav. First more fun for Biggun, more likely he get killed again. Second more fun for all gobbies, but mean I down to four rounds again."

"As entertaining and cathartic as it'd be to just blow them up and be done with it, I don't like the idea of using nearly all your ammo in one go - what if there's still more to deal with after that?" Palo speaks up, shaking her head.

IC Palo votes we just charge in/fight them the old-fashioned way but OOC I'm happy to take whichever option the group wants or thinks would be the most fun :)

With that, he creeps forward until he can see the group and blasts the lot of them with a burst of cacophonous sound! So much for making plans.

The group's attempts at stealth are, to say the least, poor... the clattering of the goblins as they clamber from the lift shaft alerts the guards to the presence of the escaping prisoners... but, slow to respond, they are left clutching their heads as Globlob uses his wand... and then, announced by a cacophony of noise and gunpowder, Ravboom fires upon the closest of the klaven.

I run block initiative so please don't feel you have to wait around for the folks before you on the initiative count to post... effectively everyone identified as acting before the enemy may act from the moment I say so.

Please move Palo to the square behind Blekk; she will draw her crossbow as she moves and then cast Guidance on Blekk.

Globlob, quickly stowing the wand in his belt, puts a foot up on the nearest bit of debris to strike a pose! After all, how else will the lizard things know who to really be terrified of as he shouts out a song?

Goblin:

"Big old grumpy scaly mens,

You think you own broken place?
We gonna come break your FACE!"


Ravboom's second shot is equally as devastating as his first, a horrific bloom of crimson exploding over the klaven's midriff as it struggles to stay standing...

...and then, the two klaven who are not clutching at their heads, raise their spur rifles and, targetting Relas, retaliate. A short salvo of polymerised thorns embed themselves in the wall behind Relas... and the friends fall upon the beleagured guards.

Though he didn't necessarily relish violence Relas had to admit that there was a bit allure to indulging the wilder parts of his agathion nature, as he bounds forward and attempts to sink his jaws into one of the unstunned klaven.

Moving forward with his big fork at the ready, Biggun drew near Globlob's opponent and thrust forward.

Forgot that the fork fully extended is a reach weapon, for some reason thought it was a brace weapon.

The bard grins wickedly at the success of both his sonic blast and lyrical genius, and pulls out his bow. Not that he really needs to do much more at this point, because all of his new friends have it covered, but it helps to make the token effort. So, he fwips an arrow at the nearest enemy.

Bow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Arrow: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3


In spite of the fact that half of the klaven force have been incapacitated by Globlob’s use of the wand, Palomia, Relas and Biggun all endeavour to miss their targets… but, seeking redemption for their companions’ inadequacies (inadequacies that Ravboom is quite happy to vocally comment upon), both Ravboom and Globlob land telling blows against their targets…

…Ravboom, firing upon the nearest of the creatures, opens a lethal wound in its neck – making an inhuman gurgling noise, it collapses. Globlob too finds his target and, as the arrow embeds itself into his opponents leg, it falls. Blekk, preferring to rush in and bite at his foes, clambers over the twitching body of the klaven slain by Ravboom… and sinks his teeth into the guard that, is only now, recovering from Globlob’s sound burst.
