Well I'm not as young as I used to be and moving 50+ pound boxes out in the cold all day long is not what I'm used to. I work at FedEx Express at the Airport shipping hub here in Indianapolis... long distances to walk out in the cold and that much manual labor during the holiday shipping peek has me tired. I'm sure some of you might not be bothered by 6 day, 10 hour shifts of that... but for me it is exhausting.

You move out into C14, Silena, moving on quiet feet. Are the rest following her?

The construction in this part of the battle market is of markedly higher quality than that found elsewhere in the building. An elaborate mosaic traces an intricate geometric pattern on the floor, and frescoes of slaves harvesting pesh fields adorn the walls. A huge open arch in the middle of the inner wall leads to the observation platform in area C15, and the passage terminates at an ornate door leading to area C16.

A curved wall running from the floor to the ceiling (which isn't on the plan but is in the descriptive text...) blocks view of the thrones from the hall at area C14. Three pillars on either side of the curved wall make it very difficult to approach the thrones without being detected.

Barezata is continuing to follow her.

Not that it matters much, but Silena IS trying to be stealthy at least initially.

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 6 = 4 <-6 Armor ck>
{+ any bonus due to being silenced GM's option. Her Armor is not shiny either being blackened steel}

OOC: Opps..forgot to mention Silena also set her buckler down in the previous room with her spiked chain and, spiked Gauntlet and boots.

Same with Barezata. Definitely trying to remain as stealthy as possible and since she'll be coming from cover, hopefully she ought to at least have a shot. Especially with the not quite as stealthy Silena drawing all of the attention ;-)

Well considering we are not detected yet.. if I can be allowed to do this.. Silena will pull her Wand of Cure Light Wounds and heal her group up to max from any wounds received fighting the guard gnolls.

Other than that, Silena is being as stealthy as she can.. but honestly she does not expect to get the drop on Kardswan... she is a distraction from her more capable friends who are VERY good at sneak and stab!

That is, until she "MONSTERS-OUT" on the first actual round of combat... then she is going to be a BIG ANGRY Predator Cat in his face!

Unless you want me to make a new attack roll Silena missed her surprise attack with LEOPARD'S PAW... she does not care if Kardswan sees her before she strikes.. she is Going to go make a stab him Regardless! And we know she misses. So its everyone else's turn and Kardswan's reaction. But keep in mind.. he cannot call for the guards.. he's in a silenced area! lols!

Barezata slips in behind Silena, confident in the silence of her spell. The moment she catches a glimpse of the gnoll, she looses an arrow at his throat.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
If sneak attack applies, that increases to 11 plus1d6 ⇒ 3 for a total of 14 because the studied target applies retroactively if sneak damage takes place. Otherwise, she will use her move action to study Karswann.

OK, then... with Silena in the lead, the party (under effects of the silence spell) head onto the obersvation platform. You hear Kardswann shouting for some ale...

And then you are into his sight line. He looks surprised and comes to his feet.

"Who are YOU?" is all he manages before Silena lashes out with her Leopard's Paw. The slash misses as he jumps back in a move worthy of the Matrix, and he lifts a vicious-looking great axe that was beside his chair.

The other person up here, a large gnoll, also rises and readies an exotic weapon, a pair of iron bars connected by a length of chain. (Is this the gnoll you want to shoot, Barezata? If so, you've hit him...)

That's your surprise round... and I had better roll some initiatives for Kardswann and the gnoll (who is named Ugruk).

Kardswann's initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Ugruk's initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

May I have actions and rolls for those particpating, please?

Silena smiles wickedly... soundlessly wording D I S P A I R!!! in answer to Kardswan!
Dropping LEOPARD'S PAW, she suddenly changes... growing fur and increasing in size coming out of her loosely draped Blackened Spiked Steel Banded armor as she has planned for. Her delicate hands lengthening into large powerful paws with sharp hooked claws, her teeth growing into an lengthened powerful maw of wickedly serrated fangs! Her body growing silver striped black fur... and a wild mane of silver-white hair! But the eyes are the most haunting... a deep crimson violet... with a sinister & cruel willful intelligence!

The scene becomes... surreal~ as the petite half-elven maiden turns into a magnificent large roaring katepeshi leopard~ midnight black furred with a white mane and silver-white stripes upon the she-cat's pelt~ ALL IN SILENCE!

The the weapon dropped by Silena makes no sound the armor discarded makes no clatter the roaring leopard heard by no one present... as Silena's silence spell centered upon herself mutes all sounds within 20'ft of her ... making all spellcasting impossible!

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Standard Action: Shapechange into Large Katipeshi Leopard
Move Action: Shift position so that she is at least 10'ft away from Kardswann... if that inspires the Monk 'guess' Gnoll - Ugruk to full attack her or AoO her from movement ~ so much the better! Silena is drawing attacks to her intentionally, because she NOW has DR10/silver! But the 10'ft distance to Kardswan is critical to her movement~ she intends to Bull Rush him next round off the platform to the arena floor below so EVERYONE can get a piece of his BUTT! She needs to be at least 10'ft away to bull rush anyone. Kardswan is STILL in reach of her claws at 10'ft as she is now large and has reach!

male Elf Witch 4

Once he finds a good defensive place to watch the ensuing chaos from, Samuel prepares to cast Summon Monster II and call forth 1d3 ⇒ 3 fiendish vipers as soon as the fight breaks out in an effort to create as much confusion as possible.

Readied action to cast as soon as the fight moves back downstairs.

I'd been thinking Kardswann was a gnoll, but of course he's not. Let's roll with that attack on Ugruk (and the studied target too).
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15 Extra +1 from Ambush Training which would also give her an extra +1 damage on that last attack for a total of 15.

Beneath her scarf a wicked smile creases her mouth as Barezata sees she has caught the gnoll unawares. Seeing the blood spurt from his throat, she decides to press the attack and see if she can eliminate one threat from the fight.
Continue attacking Ugruk who should still be flat-footed. This time with Rapid Shot.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Damage 1: 1d8 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 8 + (3) = 19
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Round 1

Barezata smiles to herself and redoubles her attack on Ugruk, missing with the first but connecting with the second.

Ugruk snarls and whirls his flindbar at Barezata.

Ugruk's attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Silena, in eerie silence, transforms into a giant leopard and positions herself to bound at Kardswann...

Kardswann gasps in astonishment, but collects himself and rushes at the leopard whirling his axe.

Kardswann's attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16, danage 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 - the axe is a +1 lawful outsider bane greataxe, by the way.

And his 2nd attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24, damage 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

He's attempting to manoeuvre around to bull rush the leopard off the ledge to the arena floor! But I reckon that a leopard is a bit more agile...

And so we move on to Round 2. Actions and rolls, if you please.

Wish we had a battle map we could move pieces around on to see this fight.. cause my previous tactical move was.. clearly not understood. :) It's cool... the whole point of being 10 feet away from Kardswan.. was to prevent him from being able to take a 5'ft step to get a full attack on Silena.. and grant her a AoO as he moves through squares she threatens. :) But I think we'll do this with some little cinematic license, as within 5'ft of Silena... Kardswan is also too close to bull rush her as you need a distance of 10'ft... let's just ignore the RAW for story purposes pbp is different from sit-down... and a lot of PF has a very tightly reliance on a tactical map.. some feats are useless without it!
So Megan with your permission... I'll perform my Bull Rush anyways?

Silena does not even try to avoid the swings from the great axe wielded by the mad Genie... but... the Axe Blade is noticeably blunted not hitting as hard as it should not drawing near the amount of blood such mighty blows should have inflicted. The first only inflicted a minor wound.. and the second hardly but a scratch on the midnight black and silver striped pelt of the she-leopardess.

The clear insufficientness of his greatest blows adding a supernatural sheen of diabolical presence to the large midnight predator... and though no sound can be heard the great cat almost seems to chuckle in the eerie silence of the battle.

[Wereleopoard: hp 45/38, 7 hp damage - total ]

Then she is death in motion! Though, curiously enough, unlike a natural great hunting cat.. her maw if serrated teeth is closed shut as she leaps for the embattled Genie...

Silena has NO intention of biting this foe... as her friend.. and perhaps the only one present who believes in her...
Sweet Sonya wants Kardswan alive~ and for now.. Silena is the master of the beast let loose from the hellfires of her tainted heart!

The great night-hunting cat leaps, claws extended, the large mass of her muscled and sinewed geometry, more mass perhaps than a horse, landing upon the warloard and forcing him toward the balcony's edge to push him ... and her with him~ over!

We shall go for dramatic effect here... :)

Tumbling through the air, the giant leopard twists and turns as does Kardswann, but as they land with an impact that seems to shake the dust loose from the entire Battle Market, the cat is on top, uninjured.

Hijiro darts in to stab at Kardswann whilst Samuel summons his vipers - who look none too impressed at having to advance on a huge and snarling leopard but obey his bidding nonetheless.

Barezata peppers the gnoll with arrows. He isn't moving any more.

Actually, it's the same fight - but anyone else who wants to join in will have to roll an initiative, of course, if they have not already done so.

Lessee, whose initiatives have I got?

Barezata - 15 - on balcony waving a bow and arrows around.
Silena (in leopard form) - 8 - on arena on top of Kardswann.
Ugruk the Gnoll - 8 - on balcony out cold at the very least.
Kardswann - 4 - on arena under a certain leopard.

Samuel's not rolled one yet. Where is he? On the floor near the arena?
Hijiro - have you rolled an initiative? I have you dancing around the arena poking at Kardswann.

The leopard is somewhat startled as the world around her enlarges... or is it that she has shrunk?

Kardswann surges upright, hurling a kitten-sized leopard aside.

And we shall have your actions and rolls for the next round, please.

'Kitten' Silena shakes her head in dismay... not understanding how she was spell sniped with her party 'supposedly' supporting her... but as the final round of her Silence spell ends she does not falter as Kardwann surges to stand. She can still act!

'Kitty' Silena grabs in her maw Kardswan's discarded Great Axe... which he had to let go of when he was wrestling with her... even as a 'Kitten' sized leopard.. she STILL has a Large Katipeshi Leopard's Strength!

{OOC: Reduce Animal and Reduce Person.. have the same effect stat wise a size bonus -2Str, +2Dex, +1hit; Silena's Strength as a leopard was a Leopard was a 23.. so now its a 21. Even if the spell was Pup Shape -4Str.. 'Kitty' Silena would still have a strength of 19... more than enough to pick up a great axe made for a medium-sized man. Technically she should still be medium sized and get a grapple check for Kardswann to attempt a break her pin.. but I'll go with story cause what she's doing is even cuter...! :)}

In an almost comical madcap, 'Kitty' Silena snatches up the Kardswann's.. great axe... and runs away with it! Her little clawed paws skittering frantically across the floor stones of the battle arena... as her Leopard's speed has not been affected in the least!

Move Action: pick up unattended Great Axe
Move Action: Move 50'ft away ...out of line of sight.
- for the rest of the engagement ... or until the effect reducing her size ends.. 'kitty' Silena keeps sprinting away.. sprinting move of 150'ft every round from any and all opponents. Keeping the Great Axe from Kardswann or his allies.

{NOTE: Something to ponder Megan.. both Reduce Animal and Pup Shape are close ranged spells... meaning whoever cast it must still be in sight. Also.. both Reduce Animal and Pup Shape BOTH actually give bonuses to the target creature... Reduce Animal only reduces the animal to half its size...basically one size smaller. If Reduce Animal were used on Silena, she should still be medium size and more than large enough to maintain grappling with Kardswann. So I can only assume someone cast Pup Shape on her ...which does reduce an animal to small size... but makes it difficult {the same will save} for ANYONE to attack her. In either case.. both spells are rounds per level so.. unless were dealing with a bigger spellcasting threat than Kardswann.. this spell should end in perhaps 6 or so combat rounds~ hopefully.}

Seeing the probability of more direct action being necessary soon, Samuel casts mage armor on himself as he moves towards the stairs to the second floor.

'Kitty' Silena running off with the great axe causes considerable amusement amongst the crowd.

"I didn't see that coming, did you?" says someone.
