Silena avoids both the eggs and the monitor lizards, giving them a wide berth, heading for the exit to the West.. to look through that door way.

Liberty's Edge

Female Depemds on the game system (human in the real world)

An archway to the west opens into a small semi-circular chamber with a low, curved ceiling. A mix of rubbish and dried mud seals a doorway in the western wall, though something has smashed a sizable hole through the wall just south of the doorway.

One troglodyte sidles up beside Silena.

"No go there, lair of Grundmoch! Not safe, not at all. Gargler will eat you, he will."

"Grundmoch and Gargler. Two creatures? What do they look like? Do they come to eat your people? Or only people who enter their lair?"

Silena ponders the prospect of two foes in close-quarters.

Leaning close to Barezata she whispers, "...I think I'll switch back to Leopard form with a silence spell to cover my approach... perhaps I can get the jump on the two foes...while you gather the party? In my Leopard form.. without silver weapons the foes are at a BIG disadvantage to hurt me. Were the rooms more open.. I'd prefer swordwork and your archery, but this might be the safer approach?"

Barezata whispers back, "I'm not hopeful, but perhaps they can tell us more about the area beyond the hole if anyone has ever returned. I'll get the others and then help cover you when we go in." Once the troglodytes have offered what information they can, Barezata goes back downstairs to get Hijiro and Sonya.

Silena will nod accepting Barezata's intention... sheathing her weapons she will rest her hand upon the chest-peice of her blackened spiked Full Plate and with a shriek of sliding metal the armor refolds itself back into the shield-shaped medallion/charm hanging from the spiked collar choker at her throat. Once again in her 'scant' courtly silks Silena unlooses her clothing for her 'change'.

Instead of casting silence... she will cast shield of faith upon herself... followed by divine favor...

Turning briefly to the 'Trog' escorts, "..I'm going to go DESTROY this Gargler.. and if Grundmoch is unwise... HIM too... you'd best not be lying!"

Then she switches forms to the large black sleek-pelted and silver white spotted Katepeshi Leopardess...

Not bothering for stealth being so large in a confined area like this~ its pointless. Silena figures {a Very large katipeshi leopardess just dropped into my lair... how.. surprising!}, is all the surprise she will need and lets loose a loud roar~ a clear and direct hunting cry to inform her friends below she is entering combat and moves to the West[Left] careful to avoid the troglodyte youngling hatchling-eggs as she shoulders her way through the Open doorway {opposite the closed double doors to the East[right]} into the rooms scenting for her prey...

A large leopard pads carefully through the hatchlings (which flee at the mere sight of her) and eggs through the doorway into the semicircular chamber (C8)...

Map Update

An archway opens into a small semi-circular chamber with a low, curved ceiling. A mix of rubbish and dried mud seals a doorway in the western wall, though something has smashed a sizable hole through the wall just south of the doorway.

Do you want to go through the hole? It's a tight fit for a leopard but you ought to be able to wiggle through.

Silena... not wanting to waste her spell duration moves to the opening and scents for any opponents who might be waiting in ambush first hiding around the corner of the opening int he wall...

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

If she senses someone is waiting... like this Grundmoch she will use the total defense action {+4AC / Current AC20} - Standard Action and slip through the opening and face the ambusher...

If not she will slip through the opening and seek a target...

She is not overly concerned as right now.. she is only hurt significantly by silver weapons.. and likely the foes have no such armament available...

Sniffing the air, the leopard picks up a vile acrid smell, rotting, sweaty, quite indescribable. There's something in there, something slithering around, not a serpent, though...

Mosaics covering the walls of this room (C9) depict armored men fighting dragons and other mythological creatures with long spears and curved swords. They are scarred in several locations where the plaster and brick face has torn free. A pile of dirty hides rests in the corner next to a large wooden cask filled with bones.

Lumbering off of the pile of dirty hides is a horrid mass of eyes, mouths, and formless flesh which stares in all directions, its countless maws yammering ceaselessly. It is the sourch of the stench, and it's moving towards our leopard!

Then it spits at her... a stream of acidic spittle aimed at the leopard's eyes...

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 - seems it's aim is a bit off!

Initiative, please, and actions!

'Kitty' Silena is utterly repulsed by the abomination...

... But her iron will and the horror of her Mother's Darklands Drow courts, the dark-elven heritage of evil taint that is a part of her and the daily suffering she endures as a priestess of the Midnight Lord make her will Unbreakable through the torrent of maddening chittering the abhorrent creature emits for it many lascivious hungry mouths.

Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
- Never discussed this but I believe Silena should retain her will save as a Were-leopard as only her physical body is actually changing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

However the mad chittering and gibbering awakens something more primal and bestial in her changed heart and the light of intelligence leaves her large cat's eyes.

{Sigh}.. of course the only roll that could fail for her is a '1'. Confusion is an enchantment so Silena gets her Enchantment save bonus of {+2} 'already included in roll; but a '1' always fails. However... as per confusion~ "Attackers are at not any special advantage attacking a confused character. Any confused character who is attack automatically attacks its attackers on it next turn."

The creature's attacks batter against her faith shielded hide... 'Fortunately "sort of" Silena was using Total Defense {making her AC 20} last action and that lasts until your next turn.. and it beat Silena on initiative so Total defense still applies. Only one hit' but only one of the many toothy-mawed pseudo-pods actually managed to grab hold of her sleek dark pelt of fur!

But Silena is also~ 'unnatural' in her shapechanger nature.. and the non-silver teeth cannot penetrate nor even so much as scratch her lycananthrope hide DR 10/silver 'Wereleopard form'!

With a primal roar of utter mad fury 'Kitty' Silena tears into the horrid thing with tooth and claw!

I can understand for expedience here.. the creature... WON'T stop attacking Silena and he can't hurt her... so eventually with all her claw and bite attacks she WILL Destroy it. Were this s sit down game we could play it out but here it would just waste tedious writing time.

Kitty Silena prowls over the remains of the hideous mass of shreaded flesh like a angry predator.. but slowly her reason returns and her motions become more measured and clearly directed by intellect.

It is odd to see a large cat try to clean its claws and fur without actually licking itself but that is some of what Silena attempts before rolling her big cat's eyes in frustration. Stepping lightly away for the disgusting mass of shredded flesh.. clearly trying to avoid stepping in anymore of it's foul smelling icor {and failing, she is just Too big}.. Silena moves away from the creature and yawns largely and suddenly changes shaped back to the petite mostly naked half-dark elven woman/child.

She immediately cringes at the icor and fleshy scraps still on her dark skin and in her hair as shudders in disgust.

Suddenly her pretty violet eyes go wide as the miasma of its foulness overwhelms her and she drops to her knees retching up vomit at her disgust of the smell and her general iciness... some of its foul flesh is still in her mouth from biting it as a leopard.. perhaps some even swallowed!

Her mortal body rejects violently such foulness and she continues to empty her stomach on the floor in gut-wrenching heaves...

Somewhere in the back of her mind, {Mother would have me flogged with the barbed 'Nine' for showing such weakness...}

"Well that's that. I guess it won't be bothering them any longer. We should probably make sure it wasn't hiding anything else in its lair."

Silena is silent trying very hard to regain her dignity... but the smell of the ... thing's remains on her skin and her own vomit~ irks her.

She casts create water... no less than three times to douse herself in cool clean water to wash away the icor and filth.. slicking her wet hair back she ties it into a pony tail and re-wraps her body in the tear-away silk courtly finery {now also drenched} to regain some modesty.

Silena then touches the shield amulet of her folding armor at the spiked-collar choker around her neck and again with the shriek of sliding metal she is clad in enchanted Blackened Spiked Full Plate armor.

Reading her buckler, she draws the scimitar, <TEMPEST>... then gripping it in two hands it also morphs in her hands into a long frosty cold-iron spiked chain.

She only comments, "..the 'Gargler' was not the only threat in here.. Grundmoch should be here somewhere as well...!"

Poor Silena... I hope this doesn't give her nightmares!

Unless you are into bones, there is nothing to find here.

There's a door in the far wall...

Taking action being more in keeping with her personality, Silena strides to the door in the far wall and being the most heavily armored of the party she opens the door and looks in... weapons at the ready.

Silently thinking, {...enough of this.. the best way to regain dignity is to act with boldness and dignity!}

Silena scans the room for hostiles before entering.. not want to waste the last minute or so of her shield of faith spell.
- Note: shield of faith has a duration of 4 minutes, and divine favor only 1 min. I'm figuring the divine favor '10rds' is gone but I seriously doubt it would have taken 20 rds '2 minutes' for 'Kitty' Silena to rip the shreds out of the Gibbering Mouther~ assuming that is what it was from the description. So current AC: 25, Tou 13, FF 24!
