"Sunset" |
Sunset does little more than stagger slightly away from the apparition before her...
Though her hand at first initially fumbles at the empty pouch at her hip, her mind takes over her instincts and she draws the mace from the loop upon her belt.
"Well...aren't you the one to be smacked by the ugly stick?" She comments offhandedly at the.....thing....
Ready for ROUND 3 or so...
Hashar. |

"Sunset" |

:P
Sunset takes a swing at the revealed creature as it tries to remove itself from her presence.
Att Roll:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Dam Roll:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"Got to get me a better 'Beat stick'." Sunset remarks as the figures flee.
Hashar. |
Hashar moves down and picks up the hooded creature that he knocked out. He looks to the group, "Any of you got any rope? I was able to knock him out before the fight began, har har." The half orc gives a toothy grin to the group. "So what do things have to with you people, names Hashar by the way." He gives them a nod as he checks the creature for weapons and items.
Perception:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Such awesome rolls! And I got first knock out! hehe.
"Sunset" |
Sunset nods to the Half-orc at the moment as she moves to the door through which the rest of their adversaries departed.
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
"Why'd they run? What's this Earth thing doing?" She mumbles the questions to herself out loud.
"Here! Agia! Durgen! How bad is the damage upstairs?" She calls.
Agia |
"Upstairs is... bad. Your room is spiritually cleansed, but not physically, Sunset. You may want to retrieve your things and get a refund. That maid left a terrible mess," Agia says, tucking her pendant back inside her shirt. "I don't know what those things are, nor why they're after my new friends. And what are you talking about, 'thing swimming in the earth'?"
"Sunset" |
Sunset stares at Agia for just a moment when the other woman talks about 'Ruined possessions'... though her discomposure is brief. To Aden she shrugs,
"Aye, well we could tell you...but then something might have to kill you..." She replies cryptically...and with absolutely no trace of humor, before sighing and moving towards the stairs and up to her room.
"Um..Durgen? You might want to spread some information to these folks who seem to have been bundled up with us...for the moment..." She brushes past Agia who hears her mumble as she passes.
"How bad can it be? It's already fallen apart! What? It's gone and rusted itself to powder?" *grumble, grumble..stomp, stomp, stomp...*
GM Blood |
Durgen thinks to himself for a moment, "Ok, A mermaid was shot by an assassin in Sandpoint. We followed and eventually tracked them down and recovered a box with something evil inside. Since then we have been chased by various evil things. Our goal was to have it looked at by the esteemed professors here. That is it in a nutshell. Strong evil necromantic forces are in played here and anyone who is with us is in danger of losing their life if not their soul. I cannot ask any of you to follow without you knowing what you are getting yourself into."
Aden of the Shield |
Sandpoint? That's my home, though admittedly I roam far as a matter of course. Aden is my name. Knight of the Order of theShield and recruiter for Belor Hemlock's militia. If this presents a danger to Sandpoint, I am with you.
Aden is tense and keeps his sword in hand for now..
"Sunset" |
Sweet! TWo DM's giving us their attention....Um...that's a good thing...right...? (¬_¬)
Hashar. |
Hashar hoists the creature on his shoulder and looks to the group, "I call Sandpoint home as well, lets say I just help out the townguard when they need it. Names Hashar, while I hit this thing pretty good lets find a place to bind it up so when it awakes we question it without worrying about it running off." The half orc chuckles.
"Sunset" |
Sunset goes through her room and re=packs all of her belongings (Which takes practically no time as she haws bugger all) and hustles back down stairs to join up with every one.
"Well...looks like we've a ton of stuff to drop off at the University." She comments looking at Hashar's shouldered bundle.
She pokes her head outside and looks for the floating, fishy thing.
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Sunset
Madwand
"Sunset" |
Okay, so there was a mess. All the character's gear is accounted for? If so, nothing changes.
"Sunset" |
Ah, so there would be ONE definite change to Sunset's demeanor.
"Fek! Fek, fek, fek,..." Sunset says loudly as she looks out into the night.
Okay, change of tack. You?" She indicates Hashar. " Hashar is it? Looks like we need your little bundle there to make up for something these todgers reclaimed. I know for certain I want some sort of lead from all this running around." She grimaces...and adds a few more of her imprecations,
"Right then. Agia? Durgen? Aden? Hashar and..um..'Mad'?" She asks "Looks like we're all bundling along together. So, afore any more things come up at us or drop on our heads, what say we make a break for the University?" She suggests.
Hashar. |
Hashar shows a little bit of a shocked expression when the half-elf starts giving him orders, as he is about to say something back that human warrior starts telling him what to do. The Half-orc just puts his hand on his head and says to the human, "Where's your pack mule?" He step in line behind Aden waiting for him to show him. He looks over to Sunset, "So whats you guys have to do wit dat school, and why the warm welcome?" He lifts up the bundle when says that.
"Sunset" |
Sunset continues to look out, covering the street.
"Long story, Durgen summarized it. We found some bad things. Some bad people came and tried to poke us away from bad things. We refused to be poked away, now bad people keep poking us...probably trying to finish us so they can keep on doing their bad things...." She says quickly and obviously very distracted. She glances at Aden,
"Pharlap? Seriously? Is he big and red?" She quips.
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 To keep appraised of what ever is moving in the street.
"Well folks? Are we ready to move?" She calls.
"Sunset" |
Hey, He's like a semi-national icon here! Poor bugger's stuffed and mounted in his own museum.
Aden of the Shield |
To Hashar,Let's go then, he's tethered outside. Finest horse in Varisia, really he's a bit wasted on a farmboy like me.
He leads the group outside, sword out and alert. On the way he calls to the barman, Call the guard to remove the dead thing. Say, Slain by a Knight of the order of the Shield, from Magnimar. He tosses 5gp at the Barkeep, for the damages.
@ Sunset, yeah I figured it was appropriate.
Outside there is what can only be called a Magnificent Horse. Standing 16 hands tall and built like the Stallion he was, a roan color mount bearing the standard of the knights order on a pole affixed to a hilt on the saddle.
Chuck the body here. We should bind him or it, whatever.
Hashar. |
He puts the creature on the horse, "Nice mule, I don't have any rope to bind him. So if you gots some tie the thing up." After setting the creature on the horse he keeps an eye on the ground and his hand on his swords pommel. "Lets get moving, lets not give this things friends the chance to regroup and ambush us."

Right we'll be moving on to the next "chapter" of the story, so you all get to go up a level (all the way to level 2!)
The thing that was swimming in the earth is gone, for now. The thing on the horse doesn't struggle through out the entire journey. You get to the academy in the middle of the night.
