"Sunset" |
Once back in 'civilization', Sunset wastes no time in finding at least a Black-smith's shop to see about tools and other much needed equipment and supplies.
"Sunset" |
Agia rejoins the party. "Well, folks, my fortune flows with yours for a bit. Where are you bound?"
Assuming before or after the visit to yon Blacksmiths.
"Ah...well that's where things get...a...complicated..." Sunset drawls, even as she twists around to see who might be close by.
See...we were off in a nice little sleepy town North-a-ways. When there's a fierce storm come blowing up and all sorts of flotsam and jetsam a-washed upon the shore." Sunset's gaze becomes pensive and withdrawn as the tale unfolds.
"Seems there was a Mer-folk lass come adrift as well. Now, thing is, she was all a-tangled in some netting. Not that unusual in such a high seas as you'd find in a storm, but where the tale gets passing strange is the mysterious fellow who didn't want any 'Loose' ends floating about and took a shot at the poor barn." Sunset sighs.
"Well, one thing led to another and we ended up with not just the poor Mer-folk lass in the past tense, but it seems the fellow with the bow took his employ very seriously as well, so not long after he passed on as well." Sunset turns to Durgen Grimhelm.
'Um...when did the...um...People of the pallid/Thin persuasion start turning up again? I forget when exactly we got our little do-hicky." She gives a nod in meaning the thing they are carrying to the University.
"Our trip with something has lead us to the University here." She finishes.
"Sunset" |
The dip from the brim of Sunset's hat is Agia's answer/reply. (As in a 'Yes'/'Acknowledgement')
"Now...as for the fuzzy that went and sent poor Hiro off...I am surely hoping that was just something random from the woods. I, for sure, do not want my life getting any more complicated." Sunset adds.
"Sunset" |
"*Raises hand* Brought Hiro this far. Best to see him all the way.
"Sunset" |
Riiight...So spend six now for the hole in the ground and the ceremony....save up and spend the 10 Gp later (When character has the money) and get a head stone. Is cool. :)
After dealing with the resting of Hiro Sunset looks to Agia and Durgen.
"Um...so what are folks doing for accommodation?" She asks.
"Sunset" |
Well.....'Free' does sound better. ;) Besides, we have business...*Looks to Durgen* You still got the 'Thing', right? (¬_¬)
"Sunset" |
Sell the fekker fer a fur lining! Give it up to the University for their 'Anatomy' lessons. But anything like 'Burying' is too good for that scum-sucking mollusc!
"Sunset" |
Sunset nods and smiles in response to Durgen. "Aye...some time to relax and loosen up after our trials..." She agrees.
"Sunset" |
Rest, relaxation and maybe even a bath would be good thing to do before rocking up to the university. ;)

So at the inn; it is a simple... maybe to simple establishment, it is a large room on the ground floor with a number of bedrooms in the first and second floor. The ground room has 4 tables that sit 6 people each. There is a bar at the end of the room with a large selection of beverages, the kitchen is behind it. There are a few people in the sitting on at the tables, a group of heavily cloaked creatures of varius sizes, 12 of them squeezing around a single table and the other a group of very old humans, dressed in loose fitting plain robes.
"Sunset" |
Sunset stays to the back of the group....still unsure as to how much the others are willing to 'foot her bill'....
Once room and board are fixed up though, she'll aim to head for the best table in a corner and make her self comfortable while lounging about till the food gets served. :)
"Sunset" |
From her corner Sunset shrugs..."Ahh..that might depend on...business..." Is all she can offer as a reply.
"Sunset" |
At Durgen's words Sunset goes back to brooding darkly in her corner.
*Brood, brood...*
Agia |
At 1 sp, Agia's fine with the inn!
Once she's dumped her gear in the room, she'll head down to the common room for a drink or two. Approaching Sunset, she nods at an adjacent chair. "Mind if I join you? Or do you prefer your own thoughts? They don't seem to be very good company tonight, judging by the look on your face."
"Sunset" |
Sunset does little more than nod, the brim of her hat indicating her acceptance of Agia's offer of company.
"Yah...well..things have not been rolling my way. Here I find m'self in a strange town, down on money, down one ally and put deeper in the money hole by something very near and dear t'meslf deciding that falling apart was the better way to be organized in its current state of affairs..." Sunset sinks a little deeper into her chair after grumbling her thoughts and reply.
*Brood, brood...*
"Sunset" |
Sunset shrugs.
"I'm not completely destitute..." She adjusts her posture and reaches for her coin pouch.
"Here's a gold to help rustle up something..." She puts the coin upon the table.
*Continues to brood...*
"Sunset" |
Sunset makes no offer to take back the coin. She seems happy to et any events take their course.
"So...what is on the menu?" She asks.
*Maybe a little less brooding...*
"Sunset" |
So... what did you guys do with the hobgoblin body?
Sorry. I thought Fuzzy was going to the University for 'research' purposes. As for storing...pack it in 'quick-lime' to keep it reasonably hygienic?
At Agia's comment to the waitress Sunset nods, th9ough adds.
"Beer here as well....please..."
The Madwand |
A disheveled man with a well-used staff wearing a chain shirt walks into the room. He spies the ladies huddled together and approaches.
"My name is Toby, but they call me The Madwand or simply Madwand. I have an affinity for staves, both mundane and magical. You seem to have an experienced 'I have seen the world look'. Mind if I share your table?"
Agia |
Agia snorts, barely managing to avoid choking on her beer and glancing at Sunset with poorly suppressed hilarity. "Have a seat, Toby. You may be just what we need to cheer this lady up. So, did you put all the wear on your staff, or did somebody else? She waves the waitress over to take Toby's drink order.
Hashar. |
A large half orc stalks into the inn and looks over the crowd in the bar. He scoffs at many of the patrons and eyes the dwarf. He moves over near him setting his greatsword againist the bar gently and orders a beer. He stares at the dwarf's weapon studying it taking in its design, he gives Durgen a respective nod and drinks his ale.
"Sunset" |
Will Save:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Sunset pulls the brim of her hat lower over her face,
"Quite...the...um...Handy man *Cough* there...aren't you..." *Choke* Agia might discern a slight shaking in Sunset's shoulders.

Not long after the waitress returns with the ordered food and beverages, the plates are disapointingly small but delicious, the drinks are also small (1/3 pint) and the beer is sweet and weak. She takes the orders of the new comers if they have any

Durgen notices the interest and says, "Ancient dwarven weapon. I've been trained in its use and honor its tradition for my people. Would you like to hold it?"
