Paladin Character (Sethariel) background:

Despite his birth on an Elven holy day, normally a sign of luck and prosperity, Sethariel was shunned from that day forward. Not only because he was the product of a forbidden love between an elf woman and a human male, but because his mother's family's bloodline carried the taint of orcs, the result of a time long past when the orcs enslaved elves and violently impregnated them. Yet despite these obstacles and the tainted orc blood that ran through his veins, Seth found his calling among the holy paladin warriors of Ragathiel, having faced threats from the undead and the Abyss and all the realms in between in his 45 years of life. Yet, it was this latest threat of Kaiju that wiped out the Elven lands and the human town where he grew up. Sethariel has now made a tactical retreat to the Last City to make his last stand, hopeful the divinity of his birth will guide him through the possible end of days ahead. He plans to take out a few monsters with him before he dies, relying on his orc-bred strength, his natural charisma, and his adamantine blade!

These were the last words uttered to Alistair Goswick by Final City's Chief Constable Ramona Calewick before he was released from his immense, multi-layered, heavily guarded prison cell. The wiry half-orc nodded his approval, holding his hands together and bowing in respect. "Thank you, Constable. I will be more careful with Jebediah. I don't have a choice. We don't have a choice, and I understand that this is not your first option, but your last. I will do everything in my power to make Final City proud." In the weeks since his release, Alistair, a bespectacled half-orc with intelligent eyes and a hunger-pang frame, has been hard at work, brewing, creating, and studying the mysterious Kaiju assaulting the last bastion of humanity, with the hope that he could devise a solution without having to let Jebediah out to indulge his thirst for bedlam.

Corso led a group of survivors from the capital city of his nation into Final city and has sworn to stay alive as long as even one of them still stands in the city. In the last Kaiju attack, he would have stood toe-to-toe with one outside the city, trading blows with it until ranged support from the city would have finished it.

Fluff:

Victoria was raised in Cheliax, found out she liked to stab stuff and tell people who to stab. She fit in pretty well in Cheliax, though could never quite get on board with the whole 'devil summoning' thing they had going on there. Too much risk for something that'll most likely screw you over in the long run.

Eventually she found her way into the church of Szuriel, the Horseman of War. From there she got really good at waging war. And once the Kaiju started to spring up? Well it was just another foe to bring down, albeit much larger than most she'd faced.

The reason she, an evil, murderous, violent sunuvagun is looking to save the last dregs of humanity from utter annihilation? Easy. She worships the Horseman of War, if there's no people around then who the heck is gonna fight all the wars? Thereby, she has to save humanity so it can continue to kill itself off.

Vinnie had always wanted to try using his skills at causing mass destruction for neutral instead of the more common 'evil.' As a result, he ran a somewhat successful demolition business before the kaiju came. Unfortunately, their sheer efficiency at the art of destruction knocked him right out of business, and now he wants to protect the last city (his only possible remaining clients) and kill as many kaiju as he can (his competitors--whether they acknowledge it or not).

He's not a particularly complex man, even if he does enjoy occasionally flying in low orbit with his favorite bat mount now that neither of them needs to breathe anymore.


Oh, I forgot to figure CMB/CMD.

A bald human appears just above the center of Last City. It's eyes are nothing but glowing white orbs. It's face utter and unchanging calm. It's body clothed in loose fitting vestments. It floats down to the cobblestone streets and begins walking slowly toward the gates.


Rosa came into being with in the main park of the Last City. The plan shift was always a little disorientating. She waited a moment to let the odd feeling pass. She looked at some locals, a few that ran away while others looked on a the woman in a black and silver uniform. A woman in a uniform was not odd now-days but a woman who was as tall as a building was.

GM, I will respectfully withdraw my previously submitted barbarian concept and instead proceed with a halfling swashbuckler. This was fun to make! Just picturing this 3' halfling with a rapier taking on these gargantuan monsters was a blast! I also will not be using parry & riposte much, as I know that can slow down the game in PbP.

Backstory: Kip is a joyful hafling, who has been underestimated his whole life. He was told he should never leave his home, as the world was a dangerous place. He was told he would never succeed in combat. He was told he would never survive all the evil threats in the world, especially when he announced he would do so, wearing no armor whatsoever! Yet, here he was, one of the most powerful warriors left on the planet, approaching the gates of the Last City. Sure, Armageddon was approaching, but he would show all those doubters that they were wrong to underestimate him. And he would show the Kaiju the merit of his skills in combat! And they would learn the error of their ways, just as the devils and fiends before them had learned that Kip the Quick was an absolute terror on the battlefield. The hafling smiled as he entered the city, his midnight blue cloak flowing in the wind. Rapier at his side: check; buckler on his left arm: check; plumed hat on his head: check. Yes, he was definitely ready. Let them come, he would show them all!

A revamp of Anya's story. This will turn her from LG to LN.

Once a hearty and headstrong justiciar of Ragathiel, Anya was filled with RAGE after surviving an encounter with the Kaiju that took a city and its people that she was defending. She became obsessed at tracking it down so she can exact her VENGEANCE. But every time she showed up to battle the monster, she only saw the destruction left in its wake and it makes her ANGRIER. Redoubling her efforts to keep herself one step ahead of the monster, she joined Lastguard for another shot at it. This time, she will have her REVENGE!

Something like that. Might polish it some more when I have more time today.


@Vinnie. A Ring of Blinking can be a great help When going full Reckless Abandoning. You are probably going to be eating the hits in any event so focusing on giving everything a miss chance can be nice.


Miss chance would definitely be nice to have, but I had to use my ring slots already on Evasion/Spell Turning, and amulet on Scarab, preventing a Hand of Glory trick manuver.

So in the end I opted to rely on a combination of having 400 freaking HP, negating criticals, having DR of 10 to further my longevity, and aggressively using Come And Get Me alongside Stunning Assault to force enemies to risk losing their turn (or their life, if they've been railgun'd already) in order to strike back.

A fifth line of defense would certainly be nice, but I only have so many limbs and figure a Displacement hopefully isn't too much to request if we have pre-combat buff time.


If I’m selected as arcane support, trust me: you’ll have all the buffs you need. And then a few more for good measure.

Daedalus and GM: I withdrew the Barbarian and submitted Kip, the halfling swashbuckler.


Here is Arawn's Background. As not much is needed, I only did the first step of a 10 minute, instead of the entire thing. Oh and this is Fury of the Tempest's submission.

- Born and raised amongst orcs, instead of humans or other civilized races. Thus grew up in a much more chaotic, brutal and hedonistic lifestyle.

- Discovered their talent for magic at an early age, and began shaping it into a weapon to fight as soon as they could. They never dove straight into mastering the magic alone through, due to the orcish nature of their community.

- Not having the size or reach of other orcs, their fighting style shifted to throwing weapons in order to counter this difference. Aiming to slay enemies before they got close, yet still having a weapon on hand in case things went wrong.

- Left the orcish community at 25ish years old, realising that they were maturing and growing slower than the orcs were, and didn’t want to spend their entire life with several generations of family. On top of that, they felt that they had a much greater calling for their destiny.

- After many, many years of wandering and adventuring, they eventually settled down. Their adventures having brought them to help people, more than focus on their own delight, and the power of inspiring others instead of just solving the issue themselves. However, when the Kaiju came, they picked up the Starknife’s in order to fight. Taking up the Mantle of Immortality to regain their lost strength and vigour, whilst following Desna’s Order of the Shooting Star in order to gain even greater fighting capability.

I went ahead and applied my character stats to my alt, as well as changed a few feats, corrected some math, and a bit of spending. I think he's more defensive now, and should make an excellent front-line tank-type character.

Awwwww, I really liked my Scion build... not often you get a Fire focused character, but I felt like his damage potential was excellently solid!
