Its funny, I was planning to run a Lee Sin character. Oh, well. Have fun everyone.

My thoughts on Gaius is that he'd not be able to be evil, as I want the people and things around him to be scary and unnerving to him. With an evil blackblade that controls him, he'd essentially play like an evil character in his actions, but not in his own personality. Once the blade manifests, those around him will learn to respect his power now that the voice of his actions is present. Maybe bend the rules a slight bit to allow it?

Karthus started out as a good fledgling cleric before losing his parents to death and disease. He lost all faith in the gods above, and an evil god granted him power over undeath. The only person Karthus really cares about in the end is himself, but for the most part he is a level-headed and generally pleasant guy. This holds true until you directly interfere with his goal of transcending into lichhood, at which point you can expect to become his next undead minion. Think of him as the nice guy that when provoked becomes the bane of your existence. To prevent himself from becoming lost in his evil powers, he has created very strict guidelines for himself that he will never break. As for the reason he was chosen, this evil god had tried to bring many people into lichdom. Those few that succeeded were far too unruly and had a tendency to try to break away and be their own demigod. In Karthus there is opportunity to have a code-abiding person that the god thinks will stay true to his agreements and follow any needs he may have.

As for Lee Sin, I have several ideas for his personality so I'll explain one below. It is subject to change, so if you have a fun idea let me know! Lee Sin has learned to rely on his ki, seeking power taken from his fallen enemies. The more ki he has in his pool up to his max, the happier he will be. The lower his ki pool gets, the more rude and hostile he becomes. Once he gets too low, his hunger for the life force of others becomes paramount to all else. The pc's would do best to stay out of his way when he's hungry, as provoking him may be a dire mistake. He won't go after the pc's, but he'll be very aggressive in his pursuit of sustenance.
