For alchemical items, we'll be using the variation on "Spontaneous Alchemy" I outline there. Any formulas not in the Alchemy Manual I will make up for you.

Nice you guys can become Full Metal Alchemists.. Which means I should Aspire to be ARMSTRONG (flex)


As people probably know, I've removed Bastion from the game due to a comment he made. I believe this was the right course of action and stand by it. Tobias did not and has removed himself from the game, which I consider a loss but it is his decision.

So, what would the rest of you like to do? The loss of two players is a serious blow to a PbP campaign still early in. I understand if you would prefer to cut it clean.

I have no problem continuing to play. The only thing is that if we are to continue on with only 3 players I'd request the chance for a minor rebuild so that I can cover some of what has been lost.

I would like to continue as well. Maybe you could recrute some new players, while we do the between tomb stuff(like crafting and research), after we finished this one.


I'd like to recruit new players once we're between tombs. Doing so now wouldn't make sense.

Gil, how would you like to rejigger? My thought is I allow each of you to raise a single attribute to 16 (your choice as to which) and rejigger based on that.

I need to swap some traits and skill points so I can pick up disable device. There may have been something else but it escapes me at the moment.


I'd allow that.

Gil, Dorian and Lilia: You may each do the following:

1. Raise a single attribute that is below 16 to 16.
2. Swap out your traits (but not your feats).
3. Rejigger your skills. You cannot get rid of a skill you have already used ICly but you can lower it if needed.

I plan on NPCing Tobias, btw, so he'll still be there to disable devices until the end of the tomb - at which point we'll recruit a new player who specifically needs to fill that niche.

Proposed Changes:

  • Picked up the Superstitious Drawback.
  • Swapped Inquisitive Archaeologist for Trap Finder
  • Picked up the Structural Knowledge Trait.
  • I'm going to bump my INT so I don't have to shift skill points, but pumping it to 16 would be irresponsible I think. So I'm just gonna push it to 10 for the one rank I need for disable device.

    Lilia could take care if traps and locks. I would trade swim(I will probably not need it soon) for disable device and raising dex to 16, I would take the ranged support as both of you are close combat fighters.

    Alright that gives me Disable Device at +6 and I can disarm magical traps. No other significant changes (I think Kn: local and appraise go up by 1).

    @JGray: How do spellcraft and magical traps interact?


    Lilia: You would need to see the effect of the trap in order to use Spellcraft on it. Alternatively, you would need to use detect magic on the trap and the study it using Spellcraft.

    Dorian and Lilia: if it comes down to it, don't hesitate to get out of there to save yourselves. We've only done about 35 damage so far which means we've still got a ways to go (I think).

    In the meanwhile, why don't we discuss replacements. Do we want to recruit one or two characters? What abilities/skills/niches would you like the new character(s) to bring to the party?

    I will say after this you'll all be working for the Breaker's Guild under Gil's supervision.

    Hello everybody, I'm excited to be part of such an interesting game! What should I know about your characters and what's going on?


    Seeker, welcome aboard.

    Summary:

    Long ago, the ancient Citrine city of Shibbati was ground zero for a disease called the Plague of Madness. To protect the rest of the nation (and the world) the city was walled off. Fast forward to the present day - Citrine is no longer a kingdom ruled by a Pharaoh but a Sultanate ruled by a Grand Sultan. A new Shibbati has grown outside the walls of the original city. To raise funds, the Grand Sultan has ruled that the necropolis portion of Shibbati will be opened for limited exploration by adventurers. The hope is the influx of adventurers and sale of antique goods will stimulate the economy.

    A cult of Opal (your own patron Totem) known as the Cult of Ausar the Green-scaled, controls the lottery which assigns adventuring groups to specific areas within the necropolis.

    The PCs are a group formed by Bastion, a soldier from the Chalcedony Protectorate, for the purposes of exploring the necropolis. Their first assignment was to explore the tomb of a general who died before the Plague of Madness hit the city. They just entered the final chamber of the tomb but, unfortunately, Bastion was eaten by a Mimic and, so, Gil the Breaker is now in charge.

    Hmm, interesting. I wonder if a tie in for Seeker could be that he went strait to the cult of Opal to have a friendly face in the city?


    Possible. They would welcome you as a fellow Cleric of Opal but this cult is very different. Here, they wield political power (they more or less run the city) and they follow the ancient Citrine traditions (think ancient Egypt). And, of course, they are almost entirely kobolds.

    I also believe Gil will be hiring. I think I can combine these two facts to come up with something to introduce you to the group.
