Thanks, guys (DM included). With the referendum over and the veritable maelstrom of fearmongering that preceded it shimmering down (at least for the moment...), I think my head will be clear enough to post a bit more reliably. It will probably have to wait until tomorrow though as I am currently at the hospital and will be until morning (working there, not as a patient, mind you).

Edit: That goes for our other game, your DMness. I thought you should know, though it does require a little more catching up to than this one.


Thanks for the update - good to know! The other game is much less urgent, as we're not in the middle of a combat.

PS I normally make a habit of not referring to RL events, simply because we're all different and have different perspectives and I'm just here to play RPGs rather than argue politics, but this was just too good not to pass on...

I am a pretty mellow and logical guy, or so I would like to think, and thus I could see that people (at least those people that had more than two brain cells in their heads anyway) on both sides (Yes and No) of our referendum had valid points and were indeed trying to think of themselves, their compatriots and their country. Others, not so much.

I find I have a very low tolerance level for stupidity and fanaticism and -heh- intolerance, or at least what I perceive as such, and I tend to get sarcastic or dry about it if I find that the other guy (or girl) has one of those things in abundance. That being said, I am not here to argue politics either, though even if I were I would like to think that I would do so in a civil manner regardless of agreeing or disagreeing with whomever it is I am having the conversation with.

But that link is really pretty good. Actually, it deserves a post on my FB page. :-D

OK, Juliet's first attack is enough to take down crossbow #1, so her second action can be a step to flank crossbow #2, meaning that Lorick will hit with both flurry attacks - and without having to use that last stamina point - thereby putting crossbow #2 out of commission.

Ready to move in with the rest. I'll roll perception before entering, just to see if there are any signs of traps. We're dealing with an would-be drug lord (and alchemist), and I think Gehenna is knowledgeable enough to expect that such a person might have layered defenses for their lab (not to mention multiple exits).

How would you all feel about putting our first 750 gp into a wand of CLW? It would open up some spell slots for Gehenna and save us from situations where we go into big fights down HP.

Doesn't sound bad to me, assuming we have access to those kinds of stores in this campaign. I think one of the great things about Automatic Bonus Progression, is that we won't need to trouble ourselves saving and scrimping for our individual big six items.

Maybe we could each take a half-share and put another half-share each towards a wand?

Assuming we can sell the jewelry at full price and that people keep the remaining alchemical items and potions, and that we'd sell the weapons, we'd end up with:

186.375 gp towards a wand
37.275 gp each a share.

If we can sell the brooch (not a given, I'd say), we'd have 686.375 gp towards a wand and 137.275 each a share.

As a player I'm terrified of swarms so we need to hang on the alchemist's fire. The potion can be sold to finance the wand unless we need it before we can get the wand. I think invisibility should be held onto as well.

I agree. Alchemist's fire can prove useful and a healing potion is never to be sold in my opinion. It heals you, which is generally considered a good thing. As for the invisibility one, it could also come in handy.
