Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vented within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and west and sixty miles south of Oleg's Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Talistril, under the watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne.

Character creation:
-25 pt buy
-Starting at 1st level
-Average starting gold by class
-Max HP at first level, roll every other level.
-Any non-evil alignment
-2 traits, one of which must be from the Kingmaker Player's Guide. You may take a drawback for an additional trait.
-Any class is allowed, and any archetype aside from Synthesist Summoner.
-All Core, Featured, and Uncommon races except for Drow Noble and Svirfneblin are allowed.
-Material from all official Paizo books are allowed, where applicable.
-3rd party material is allowed on a case-by-case basis. There is no harm in asking, but I make no promises.
-A backstory for your character, with some depth to them. I like depth, and I take the character backgrounds into account when selecting a party, so make it count.
-Give a general direction for your character from a gameplay standpoint. What they'll be able to bring to a party, what aspects of their class they emphasize, and where you intend to go with them build-wise over time. It doesn't have to be along, just to give me an idea of what you're going for.

And then some notes about just the game and how I run things.
-We won't be using the grid. Narrative combat for life.
-I don't like bogging the game down or restricting how you want to build a character by worrying about carrying capacity, so encumbrance is out. Your strength will still be important for carrying really heavy objects, but your low-strength Rogue can carry all the rope they want.
-Reflavouring certain things to better suit a character is more than okay by me.
-Houseruling, like third party material, is something you need only ask about.
-To account for the higher point buy and larger group size, encounters will be rebalanced for higher difficulty as needed.
-If you played/GMed parts of the game before, it's not a problem. I think most people can avoid powergaming just fine.

I'm looking for a group of 5 or 6 players to run through Kingmaker. Specifically, people who can make at least one post a day on weekdays and one during weekends. Party selection will be decided by a mix of having a party that hits all the necessary roles (obviously with some redundancy given the larger size), and on the strength of applicants' backstories.

I'll keep recruitment open for roughly a week, and be around to answer questions/comment on applications as needed. If you have an existing character for a previous Kingmaker game that fell through/you didn't get picked for, but who is under different build rules, don't worry about tweaking it until you're accepted. The backstory and general idea is what I care about more than having everything done right now.

I 'd like to propose this character, Hadin Cassoren, an humble born Paladin of Erastil.

He had a try at a first Kingmaker game, but it ended way too soon (not even the 2d half of the first adventure)

Sczarni

Awesome. I have been wanting to play Kingmaker. Never have yet. Now what to make for it. I have to many ideas.

This is a character I built for another Kingmaker pbp who didn't make it. I might want to rework some of her features (for instance, upgrade her to a 25 pt. buy and perhaps change her race from half-elf to azata-blooded aasimar, meaning I would also have to tweak her background a bit) but her basic structure should remain the same - namely, a paladin of Erastil fighting to rid the Stolen Lands of banditry so that others might enjoy the safe life that was denied her.

Gameplay-wise, I intend to build her as a ranged-oriented combatant (by means of the Divine Hunter archetype), potentially synergized with the Mounted Combat and Mounted Archery feats.

RP-wise, I'm envisioning her as a strongly socially-oriented character, maxing out on both the Diplomacy and Sense Motive skills. With a trait bonus to Diplomacy checks against hostile of unfriendly creatures, her modus operandi would be trying to pacify the Greenbelt with the force of words as well as arms.

Obviously, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would be interested in playing here. I have a level 1 made but im waiting to hear back in another game. I can also make a character to fill a roll the party needs. The character is a strix fighter and hopefully i hear back today on the other campaign

I'm going to toss in my hat. I shall be creating a Daring Champion cavalier, basically the swashbuckler styled cavalier. He shall be an Aldori Duelist hired to explore the River Kingdoms. I'll have them posted later.

Have been in a few kingmakers that died. What do you think about the Aegis I would be front line damage dealer and meatshield. Woulld be interested in being the General for the kingdome once found.

I have not played Kingmaker before, but have wanted to do so for quite some time. I'll be submitting a character later on in the day, as per your guidelines.

I'd be interested in this. Perhaps either a sorcerer or witch, though I could also go with Aliana here. Will have to think about it.

I'm VERY interested in this. I've got a Sorcerer King-in-making that I've been dying to play. I'll get an alias written up for him and submitted tonight.

Updated her to a 25 pt. buy - it wasn't all that much effort after all.

This is a previous submission of mine to a recruitment thread. The story is a bit long, but I feel it gives a good grasp of character. Let me know what you think!

On the more mechanical side, Wetscale would have to be adjusted for this game, but he would field the mechanical role of frontline warrior. I may adjust the class a touch, but the role should remain.

Background:
Unbeknownst to him, Wetscale's history began in the Sodden Lands, far from his current location.

A few decades ago, a group of traveling delvers out of The Shackles happened across a marsh inhabited by many creatures, the lizardfolk most of all. They resided along the Terwa River, pushed out of their homeland adjacent to Lake Ocota, the polyglot pioneering pygmies pushing them out of their original location. Constantly driven back by this expansion, the primitive beast-men of this lizardfolk tribe developed a seething hatred for them and like-seeming humanoids, attacking on sight. Unfortunately for the tribe, one of the vendors was an arcanist; he burnt them to a crisp. The same heat from his spells which cooked the grown defenders served to complete the incubation of a batch of their eggs, hatching as the group scoured the area for material gain. One of the more innovative tradeswomen took the hatchlings, hoping to sell them as exotic creatures for a noble's menagerie. That she did, and one of the offspring ended-up in the River Kingdoms - Mivon, to be precise.

In his early years, Wetscale didn't remember everything, but a few details stood out to him. He got his name from the numerous fishing errands the servants sent him on - after all, he was but an animal to them, a spectacle at best. They taught him how to speak - but not read - the common tongue to communicate, and even with none of his native tongue or culture known to him, he was content. Wetscale knew no other life, after all, and it wasn't as if the servants had it that much better; at least as the exotic pet, he needed to be kept well for show purposes to the haughty guests of import which reared their heads from time to time.

The tradition of the swordlords being strong in the region, one of the young scions in his family - Fondel - got into a squabble with another and decided to settle it with a blade. Not a stated duel, Wetscale took the clashing of steel as a mortal threat - and it would've been. The challenger gouged the Lizardfolk's young master between the ribs, and he defended the wounded teen as he was taught to; his claws ripped through the aggressor's throat, and the cold-blooded creature was covered in warmth for once. Fondel, seeing the lack of a living future for Wetscale once the opposing family discovered what happened, bid the creature away, telling him to swim as far as he could. Wetscale wasn't dumb, just uneducated; he swam.

*******

After a few weeks living on the wild, he reached a new large civilization. Fortunately for Wetscale, his tribe's generations in the Sodden Lands had favored lineage with thicker blood to retain warmth, so he did not perish outright in cold Brevoy's wilds, but his sluggishness meant he was barely getting enough food to survive. His muscles had dwindled, and his frame was laughably overkill for the meat on it. He came ashore on the docks of New Stetven, shivering, hungry, and utterly weak. At first meeting him at swordpoint, the guards were astounded to learn the beast could speak. Sentience upgraded him to a jail cell, apparently, but he at least got old bread to eat while his fate was decided, and it was no colder than the waters of the river.

To his great fortune, there was a trademeet in the city, and history repeated itself once again: A certain minor member of House Orlovsky decided the family at the roof of the world would show its affluence best with a beast from so far away when news came to him about Wetscale. A few coins and a week later, the malnourished Lizardfolk found himself at Skywatch. This time, however, he found under the watchful gaze of more than simple mirth-seekers. Speaking a human tongue earned the reptile a certain amount of unspoken respect among the more learned of the house, and some took more than a dabbling interest in him. Each had their own motives - train the beast to be better at sums than the lady's son to snub her, teach him how to outcook the servants to threaten the servants' job security and make them work harder - the list went on. Wetscale saw he was being used for their gain, but his past experience in Mivon told him not to get invested - it would only cause trouble.

One day, a visiting arcanist who'd seen the lizard once or thrice before returned with a proposition: He would teach the orphan about his true culture in return for besting a swordsman in a duel, and he must agree to keep the arrangement a secret. The vast political web of the unstable nation wasn't fully known to Wetscale, a young adult at this point, but he knew keeping his mouth shut was often a good idea. Not rocking the boat with the Orlovsky family, he'd been well-fed, well-warmed, and even taught to read. He towered above all men in stature now. However, his heart yearned for nourishment. He had no friends, was treated like a thing more than a person, and had no sense of self. His emotions won over his logic, and he accepted the man's proposal, the memory of his past experience with a duelist returning to him. The bearded man smiled and handed him a book. "I'll be back to see how you're doing planning for that duel." He left with a hint of haste. Not bothering to ask him the details, Wetscale opened the book. It was ... a lingual text. A note scribbled on the side read: "Start with your real tongue, and we can discuss more in it when you've learned."

Each night after his duties were complete, he tried his hardest to learn the alphabet, the phonics, the grammar. The structure was so much more complex than the human language, but it felt so ... right with his own tongue, as if he were born to speak it. Excitement took over him, almost as if he made his first friend with the parchment. In a way, he had; the learning in (relative) secret gave him a sense of self, and it gave Wetscale confidence in his abilities to do something besides fetch and kill.

*******

The better part of a season later, the man returned, looking somewhat older than last time. Using German for Draconic for flavor. Wetscale's eyes shone with happiness when he saw the man, who bid off the servants which were usually around the reptile. "Wie finden Sie das Buch?" Did you like the book?

"Esss war Ssspitzzze!" replied the Lizardfolk, his long tongue and lengthy respiration drawing out the consonants. "Ich habe sofort angefangen, weil es mich freute, über meine Leute zu lernen." It was fantastic! I began it immediately as it filled me with joy to learn about my people. The man nodded, and looked about. "Sind Sie für den Zweikampf fertig?." Are you ready for the duel? Not having completely forgotten his end of the pact, Wetscale was a bit taken aback by his contact's abruptness. "J ... Natürlich," replied the reptile in affirmation, showing his vocabulary. "Wenn?"

"Morgen." Tomorrow. The man's smile disappeared, his face deadly serious. "Good luck." His last words in common, he spun on his heel and walked out. He was left to dark confusion as sleep took him hours later. How would it happen? Where? With whom?

Roused from his sleep by a couple of the house guards, he was marched out of the residence to the town square. Dawn had come not long before, but a crowd was gathered. The headsman was present ... his axe sharp and waiting. On a platform sat the lord, lady, and a few of the family - including his purchaser and the arcanist, their eyes deadly serious. "Wetscale, you stand accused of murdering Lady Medvyed's youngest daughter. What say you?" The visiting lady happened to be on the platform as well.

Stunned with the suggestion, he didn't know how to respond initially. "...No," came from his mouth slowly.

"YOU BUTCHERED HER!" screamed the woman. "Her throat cut overnight to shreds by those claws, her bosom with teeth marks all the way to her ribs. THAT BEAST KILLED MY BABY!" Their family had been visiting that week, Wetscale recalled. She pointed a condemning finger at him with the last yell, appealing to the crown with a wild cry, tears, and a sweep of her head.

Lord Orlovsky shut his eyes, sitting straight in his chair. Clearly, he did not enjoy this. "It seems there could be no other killed in my own keep. You are sentenced to death by steel in, combatant or coward alike." The traditional pronouncement cut through his surprise-paralysis. It had only happened twice that Wetscale had seen, but the convicted were allowed to duel for their lives with a champion of the lord's choice; most chose the silent death instead without putting up a fight. As the guards restraining him attempting to force his head to the block, the lizard spoke up. "I choose combat! Gasps of surprise took over the crowd.

The lord stood up after a moment's pause. "Silence! Trial by combat it is. Let victory be the judge," He glanced around, his eye falling on someone. "My new swordsman from the South, exact my justice this morning in my name." The crowd gave way between them.

It was Fondel.

Either the now-adult dandy didn't recognize him, or his new loyalty was more important, for he drew his blade - the same one he'd had as a youth, judging by the markings - saluted his lord, and approached. A sword was handed to Wetscale by a servant, and he palmed it absentmindedly. He'd seen enough of the fights to know how they went, but he wasn't skilled in them at all - or with any weapon for that matter.

"Master Fondel, don't -"

"HEATHEN!" yelled the scion as he took a thrust at his old companion, Wetscale dodging the jab just in time. "How dare you soil my name with that filthy tongue of yours!" Another two swings came, both wide, arcing - perhaps for the public, which now was cheering the young man.

Whatever empathy Wetscale had for Fondel evaporated in the moment though, and he began to defend himself in earnest, treating him as one of the wild beasts he'd felled on the hunts. Luring him into range seemingly, then darting away, looking for an opportunity to pounce. Such an opportunity occurred. The Lizardfolk tossed his useless sword at Fondel, his overconfidence getting the best of him; it tore through his ornate clothing and gave him a gash on the swordarm. This shocked the crowd back into silence.

First blood must have activated the man's adrenaline, for he flew into a flurry like Wetscale had never seen. His face was red with fury, his arms moving with superhuman strength, the bloody arm seemingly forgotten. Like a bear, an unstoppable force. Wetscale could not hope to stand against him with that fatally-sharp blade butchering the air; he wove left and right, hopping over a cut to his waist. Then his opening occurred; Fondel righted himself with a garish upswing, throwing his balance off in the other direction. Wetscale seized the opportunity, charging his opponent, a claw wedging itself in between the ribs as another's sword had done years ago, his other grabbing the man behind the shoulders, culling his swordhand's mobility.

"Fondel, stop this!"

"What did I tell you, beast?!" The man was seemingly impervious to pain and memory, giving one last futile stroke with his hindered arm; the slash scraped along Wetscale's armored skin without harm.

"Finish it," a familiar, but just-out-of-recognition voice whispered in his mind. It wasn't Fondel's. Heeding his id and its bidding, history repeated itself as the Lizardfolk sunk his teeth into the exposed throat of his former master. As the duelist dropped to the ground, the rage faded from his eyes, and his mouth opened slightly as if to say Wetscale's name. A chill ran up his spine as silence deafened the area.

What seemed like hours passed before Lord Orlovsky broke the spell. "Gorum's grace has declared you innocent." The god held much sway in these lands. Wetscale turned to see a sobbing Lady Medvyed run from the scene. "Approach." Queerly, Wetscale did not see the arcanist - or his seat - upon the platform anymore.

His voice merely a whisper between them, Orlovsky quickly relayed to the exonerated reptile. "I will not have a war because of this. You'll die anyway if you stay around the Medvyed's lands. Understand that." He took a step back and raised his stentorian voice, a thing not often down by the ambivalent lord. "You are hereby exiled, Wetscale. You will have a weapon and a flask of mead. Out of my land with you!"

And so it was Wetscale wandered South along the river, through the lakes, skirting the forests the slain daughter had called home. Why wouldn't he stop? Did he not recognize me? The day haunted him endlessly. The Stellen River met him at its Eastern end, and he swum along its path until he reached the place where he was sold. Stronger now than in his youth, he weathered the trip better, but still was cold and hungry.

A forceful hand on the back took him by surprise. "If it isn't the the Dripping Dragon!" Wetscale turned to see a ... jolly follower of Gorum's, judging by the symbols on his belt, surely a couple of pints in him. His puzzled look must have transcended even the stark racial difference between them. "Tales of you besting a swordlord in single combat - unarmed - are known to us even here. Come! Let us drink spar, and talk."

*******

And so it was the temple took him in, attempting to train him in the ways of steel, scolding him for letting his gifted sword rust. An odd man - nearly an outcast by the standards of the temple - got along much better with him though. He came from the South, looking for famed warriors that matched "his expertise," as he put it. Using no armor or sword, he invoked the ire of the temple, but they revered his prowess in battle, moving as fast as the wind, staying out of harm's way. Though he didn't much harm his sparring partners, he tired them out. If only I could've done that to Fondel instead of .... The two shared tales and trained together, two outcasts making a friendship far from their homes.

One day, an opportunity arose. Land in the South, a way to leave the ever-present threat of a Medvyed assassination in retribution. Wetscale sought out the chance, seeing were fate would take him...

Criticism from GM and applicants welcome!

Here's a character I've been trying to play for a while now, especially in. Kingmaker. His background is under the "The Marked" spoiler in his profile. :)

Hello, I would very much like to join this future spectacle with Hrane Throrson. He is a dwarf without a home or a clan to return to. He comes from a past filled with bad decisions and regrets, seeking a new future doing honorable work on the frontier. Mechanical details and background in the character page/profile. I have never played the Kingmaker campaign before but I have heard a lot of great things about it.

I can post once per day at the least and prefer a game that keeps a rate of posting at least once per two days. I am also joining for the long run, expecting this campaign to continue for a very, very long time.

Mechanically this is going to be an archery focused Ranger with lots of knowledge skills to represent a long life accumulating knowledge. I see a lot of good opportunities for synergy with Xelani's character.
Roleplay wise Hrane is a repentant brigand seeking an honest future, as there is nothing in his past keeping him tied to anything. Everything can be found in detail in the character page/profile.

Dotting for interest, will be applying, possibly with a character I'd made for another Kingmaker game, but after revamping him with a bit more background.

There doesn't seem to be much divine casting yet, I'll put together an Oracle to submit when I have the time. Also, do you allow the variant aasimar, like the Angelkin?

Wow, that's a lot more interest than I expected so quickly or so early. Pretty great thing to come out of a three hour anthropology to find. Lots of archers so far.

@Ashe: Sorry, Psionics aren't my thing.

@Odentin: Might not want to get too married to your character as king. That's usually the point of contention for Kingmaker parties, and the more people get invested concept-wise in their character as a future king, the uglier it'd get.

@Dragonflyer1243: Yeah, variant heritages are fine.

No problem, did you read the Aegis though they have no Psionic abilities. They use there PP to enhance their suit. I can't think what I want to play at level 1. I'm in 6 games, was 10 but 4 have become inactive recently and I'm playing almost everything hmmm. Need to think.

It seems I forgot to save my background. I'll have it back up in a jiffy. Just need to type it up again.

I'm interested and should have a concept up in a couple of days.

Liberty's Edge

Oh oh oh, this sounds excellent. I've got a Halfling Emissary Cavalier I'll be posting later today/early tomorrow! (It is shipment day at work, so how soon I'll have free time is a *~mystery~*)

Dotting for interest. Initial idea is an Aldori dueling blade-wielding Kensai magus or Swashbuckler (with the Sword Scion campaign trait). I'll see if I can decide and put it all together by the deadline.

Pungeon Master wrote:

Indeed, I've noticed that too. I thought for a moment to switch character (or at least restat it), though as Hrane pointed out, the Divine Hunter Paladin is more of a support build than a pure DPSer - it works best when it can benefit other archers with its abilities. [shameless self promotion] Paired with a ranger and a Zen archer, we can become the deadliest hunters in the Greenbelt.

GO TEAM ARCHERS! [/shameless self promotion]

I'll be throwing this character in. He was a part of the same Kingmaker game Hadin mentioned above. (Hey Hadin, good to see you.)

I've not done the math or picked out gear yet, I'll do it if I'm picked.

I've reflavored the "Poverty-Stricken" trait into a "Traveler" trait with identical mechanics. Is this okay with you?

As far as party role goes, Castor is built for a support role, casting buffs and healing and firing from the back lines when he has nothing better to do. He brings a few skills to the table, namely Knowledge(Religion), Spellcraft, and a good Perception and Sense Motive.

In roleplay, he takes an active role attempting to mediate disputes, but may also become personally involved when characters, either party members or NPCs, become belligerent. While a relatively inexperienced adventurer, he brings the hope and guidance of his faith to help keep the party on the right track.

Oh hey, a cleric in light armor with a longbow... Team archer go! (Funny that we're all pitching bow-wielders.) :P

As the campaign progresses, he will most likely pick up the Spherewalker prestige class along the way. Is this fine with you, GM?

I present Linora Avedra, cavalier of the Order of the Flame. She's a hotheaded duelist out to prove herself worthy of the tile of Aldori Duelist. She will be mainline finesse fighter and also a party face. High Dex and Cha are the name of the game for her. All her information, including a minimalist backstory, are in the profile linked above.

Wonderful that you see it that way Xelani. We can be good on our own, but together we can be amazing! I hope that I will also be able to contribute in melee combat of course, but I think that it's really in the time between combat that my character will really shine.

Backstory:
Drak was good at few things in life. But those things that he was good at he was GOOD at. Those things are Sailing (pirating) and fighting with his rapier. So when he woke one day to find himself in the River Kingdoms he was at a loss. The Last thing that he remembered was going to a tavern after a very profitable trip (raid) off shore. He and some of his fellows went drinking and the next thing he knew he was on this stinking BARGE!!!

Oh well... Drak never was one to let fate get him down. Maybe some lordling needed a good swordsman who wasnt afraid to get his hands dirty. Yes this could be good after all.

Ha, thanks.

You're welcome :) Hope I didn't come out as meddling, but sometimes people just leave an application in the recruitment thread and forget about it - luckily I see you managed to fix it within the dreaded 1-hour editing window

posting for interest and application... will need to check my sheet to see how the stats compare with the buy (think she was build off the "roll-x-many-dice,-subtract-one" method) and gold standard... but she would basically be a melee focused bard.

Would Path of War content be allowed? It may look complex but it's easy once you have tinkered with it... I can explain it to you if your having problems digesting it.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war

@Vahanian 89: The background is a bit on the thin side for my taste. It doesn't have to be the length of, say, Wetscale's, but a few solid paragraphs at least.

@Viluki: No, probably not. It's a lot of new mechanics to bring in, and the third party content I'd allow would have to be a lot lower key and uninvolved than that.

@Castor: I appreciate the help, but I've got a different system, since the ranged/melee split is less important to me than the general roles.

I only included people who posted with a definite idea of what they wanted and at least something completed. Someone saying "maybe this" wasn't considered because it's easier to add to the list when someone is certain, and this way people can tell what firm ideas are in place.

Arcane:

Haha don't worry. If someone displays a better aptitude for the position, I won't cause trouble. It's in the back story for him to have that desire, though. That's all I'd meant.

For your consideration, Paddy Finn, rogue.

He's still a work in progress.

Lamontius here.
Submitting Histran Thrael Anders Lebeda, Samsaran Arcanist, for your consideration.

Build, Background and Development/Role information can all be found in this profile.

It doesn't have to be the length of, say, Wetscale's, but a few solid paragraphs at least.

Was the background to your liking? I think it didn't sit well with the previous GM whose game I applied to with it.

I would like to put forward Cysgood Dewin, a half-elven bonded witch. He is very much a scoundrel, and uses his powers to benefit himself, and attempt to raise his station in life. (Think a half-elf version of John Constantine, with a little more avarice thrown in.) I wasn't taken with the standard classes of items for his bonded object and came up with one of my own. From a game play perspective, we can either assume one of the standard object templates, or we can work up a unique one as things progress. The object doesn't provide any additional benefits until level 2, so we have time if he's chosen.

I see him being strong in social interactions, and providing support in combat. I plan to progress him as a very strong social manipulator, with thought of taking a spymaster type governing role.

Presenting Ansha, an elf enchantress (manipulator). High Charisma party face combined with wizard utility, control and blasting. She is presently built around a 20 point buy, but if selected I will make the necessary adjustments.

Portrait: Ansha Saeralyan - my art (Colored)

Description:
Ansha is a tall, slender elven maiden who looks to be no older than a human girl of eighteen or nineteen winters, with long legs and an hourglass figure. Her long hair is a strikingly pale blond bordering on platinum, brushed meticulously and often bound into a long, elegant ponytail by a simple blue hair-ribbon; when unbound, her hair cascades over her shoulders like a cloak reaching just past her butt. Her almond eyes are a deep emerald, bright with intelligence and often twinkling with amusement. Her voice is charmingly soft and velvety, with the melodic sound common to all elven voices.

She is achingly beautiful and her features, much like her frame, are delicate, with a small, perfectly formed nose and lips that are quick to curve into a disarming smile full of unspoken promises. Her skin is smooth porcelain, and is barren of tattoos or other markings. She walks with the grace and poise of a noble debutante, and has a confident air about her, as if she is used to getting what she wants.

She most commonly dresses in a green bodice and underbust corset, with a matching side-slit skirt. Black fingerless gloves that end just beneath her elbows cover her arms and she wears similarly-dyed leather boots that end just beneath the knee. Her pointed ears are pierced with a pair of platinum studs through each arch, each holding a small jade carving of a camellia flower; and pendant earrings of gold dangle from each ear, clasping a small emerald in their raindrop-shaped frames. She wears an intricate choker at her throat, silver chains holding in place a gold frame inset with a larger emerald; additional silver chains drape across her bare neck; dangling among the chains is a small gold disc etched with the elven rune for the first two letters of her given name. A larger gold disc inset with three small teal tourmalines hangs from a chain connected to the smaller disc, and another chain falls from that disc into her cleavage. She wears three gold bracelets on her right arm, two of them loose hoops and the other worn tighter against her wrist; and several gold and platinum rings adorn the fingers of her right hand.

Personality and motivations:

Ansha is a flirt who uses physical and magical charms to get what she wants out of life. She is flighty, impulsive, inquisitive and loves being the center of attention. A true hedonist, she is extremely open to new experiences and is willing to try almost anything at least once.

In the wake of her adoptive parents' deaths, she has slowly had her memories return, and she realizes that in addition to the fact that she can never go home again, she has been living a lie for years. Although her primary motivations are pleasure and power (and the pleasure that comes from having power over others--particularly their minds), she is also aware of the numerous enemies she has, and has found it in her best interest to surround herself with people willing and able to aid her should any of those enemies catch up to her.

Background:
Ansha is the only daughter of Lord Elroth and Lady Elizaera Saeralyan of the noble House Saeralyan, native to Iadara in Kyonin. The House was rather inconsequential in matters of politics, though it does manage to maintain a level of wealth suitable to their station, and it was precisely this inconsequentiality that lead the morally-bankrupt enchantress Elizaera to form a pact with Our Lady in Shadow, Nocticula, the patron of succubi: in return for increased powers of seduction and enchantment, Elizaera would bring the entirety of the House under the demonlord's sway. She succeeded, the whole family came to worship Nocticula secretly and the family's fortunes rose. For her part, Elizaera became the mastermind behind the family, and she was granted a measure of a succubus's power: an otherworldly beauty that could cause those around her to stare in fascination without regard for their surroundings.

When Ansha was born, she shared this same otherworldly power as her mother, but it was decided that she would not be told about the family's pact with Nocticula until she was older, for fear that she might accidentally let something slip, as only a child might. So she was raised as a master manipulator in her own right, and she grew up to be a young elven debutante who knew how to get what she wanted from most anyone. Despite this, she never quite shared the moral degeneration of her mother--probably in large part due to the friendships she formed with other more goodly aristocratic elven children, like her friend Inari Gloamingdusk.

The end of her childhood came early for the young Lady Ansha when her parents decided that she was old enough to reveal the family's dark secret and to include her in the pact with Nocticula. But Ansha stumbled upon them in the midst of a profane ritual several days before her parents were ready to reveal the family's secret to her, and she fled home. Pursued by a summoned succubus, the young Lady Saeralyan was captured and subjected to defilements that shattered her mind and left her with a form of trauma-induced amnesia called dissociative fugue.

But before she could be returned to her family, she was rescued by the married elven adventurers Baelyth and Sahtara. The married pair, for their part, took the elf in and cared for her much as if she were their own daughter. Eventually, they settled with their ward in the wilderness of the River Kingdoms, living in a secluded cottage far from the eyes of any pursuers Ansha may have had.

Life on the frontiers of the River Kingdoms was hard, but it was the only life that Ansha knew now--though occasionally the feeling that a fog shrouded part of her memory gnawed at her.

In the end, it was simple bandits that destroyed Ansha's newfound home life. While away from home, a group of bandits stumbled upon the cottage and attempted to intimidate Baelyth into giving them the family's valuables. A fight started, and though her guardians fought well, Ansha arrived home just in time to find Baelyth dead and the sole surviving brigand fighting with Sahtara.

Ansha cried out, and Sahtara looked up at the sound. The brigand capitalized on the distraction then to run Sahtara through, her unarmored body collapsing onto the forest floor. A dam broke in Ansha's mind, and amid a torrent of memories remembered as through fog, she finished off the already-injured brigand.

Overwhelmed with grief and newfound memories, the elf paid her respects to the guardians whom she had taken for mother and father. She knew she couldn't survive in the wilderness alone, and with her very identity in crisis, she set out for civilization--for Restov.

Reimmersing herself in the pleasures of civilization, Ansha increasingly felt drawn to understand who she had been. Mindful of the dangers returning to Kyonin would pose, she turned to the ancient past instead, and remembered tales of long-lost holds in the south. So it was that when she heard of an expedition into those lands, she found herself volunteering.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Have a Human Cavalier I have attempted to play in several Kingmaker Campaigns which never seem to survive for long. Hi Hadin! Will attempt to update him for your guidelines & post tomorrow.

Hadin gets a hi and I don't, Rufus? So much for old acquaintances. :P

By the way, GM, I've updated my profile with a revamped personality section, figured I might as well signal it.

This is be the character I'll be using. Still working on him, but I should be done tonight or tomorrow.

Silver Crusade

Would you be open to the Mighty Godling class?

Dregan is here applying for bandit hunting.

Happy to take on any changes that need to be made.

Hows this?

Backstory 2.0:
Drak didn't come from much. He grew up poor but proud. His father had been the captain of his very own ship before it vanished and that's what Drak wanted. His uncle was a sailor and a swordsman who taught Drak all he could whenever he saw him. His mother ran a small shop in the docks selling all manner of herbs and remedies. After he grew up he left his mother and went to find out all he could about his father and the sea.
He was signed by a merchant ship as a deckhand and learned all he could about the ship. After a year on the ship they were set upon by pirates, Drak did what he could to save the ship even killing a pirate and taking his rapier. In the end the ship was lost and he was given a choice to join or drown. Drak joined the crew and steadily moved up the ranks. He found out from the captain that his father was not only a captain but a man that few would trifle with. The captain served under his father, whom he always refereed to as Captain Roberts, until a year before his disappearance. As he gained more skill with a sword and as a sailor some among the crew grew jealous of his success. So they planned to be rid of him. After a very profitable trip (raid) off shore, Drak and some of his fellows went drinking, when they slipped something in his drink. The next thing Drak knew he was on a river barge in the River Kingdoms. Confused and angry, he was at a loss.

Oh well... Drak never was one to let fate keep him down. Maybe some lordling needed a good swordsman who wasnt afraid to get his hands dirty. Yes this could be good after all...

Submitting Korinne Bryden, an Arcanist with the White Mage archetype. Crunch and background and all those good things are in the profile, but let me know if there are any questions or if I need to change something.

Says hello to Castor and Pollux..err...Rufus. My mistake.^^

Says good luck to everyone.

A Kingmaker I was in recently got abandoned by the GM, so I would like to get in on this one with a new character.

Tyce Bennet

Background:
Tyce is the descendant of a long line of native Issians who were particularly notorious for their river-pirating and snake worship. Things have been tough for his family since Issia's surrender to Brevoy due to the tighter restrictions on pirating. After getting busted on an illicit job, they were graciously left with nothing but their lives after the heavy fines. Seeing opportunity in the southern expansion into the Stolen Lands, Tyce left his broken home in pursuit of fame and glory in his own right by accepting the Swordlords' call for adventurers. With charter in hand, he travels south to Oleg's Trading Post.

Personality:
Tyce has a sarcastic wit, more pride than he has reason, and only one thing on his mind; gold. If he can't benefit from something in some way, he's not interested, although he is willing to risk a loss at the price of a greater reward. Hardly kindhearted, he is often described as cold, judgemental, and unforgiving. His hubris often lands him into embarrassing situations, but he still holds his head high.

Appearance:
While a proprietor of cunning, Tyce trains his body much harder than his mind. His toned, thick muscles hide beneath loose robes, but he is still a recognizably formidable and imposing man. He wears a pair of glasses that give him a sharp and sophisticated look that pairs well with his snake-like green eyes. His hair is a bright white-blonde that is short on the front and sides, but is neatly woven into a long braid in the back.

Role & Progression:
Tyce is a grappler, and will be focused almost entirely on grappling. He'll be rolling with both the Snakebite Striker and Strangler Brawler archetypes for most of the way, with a 1-level dip in White Haired Witch at level 3. Outside of grappling, he has a rogue-like combat style, moving in for flanking where he can in order to get sneak attack. I only ask for one refluff; when I take the level in White Haired Witch and gain my familiar, I would like to be able to choose a snake familiar, and I would like for it to grant me the same +2 Grapple bonus as the King Crab familiar does. Once we reach the point of assigning kingdom roles, Tyce would be most interested in the role of Royal Assassin. I'm still sorting out his starting gear.
