Akiros picks up his sword again and starts raging.

AOO for those by Akiros with a melee weapon out.

"Stop! Peace! There has been enough bloodshed today!"

Elena tries to kick the sword away from Akiros before he can pick it up.

Using the AoO to make a combat maneuver... I guess it would be disarm? Since the action that provokes the AoO is picking up the sword, Akiros won't be armed and unless he has improved unarmed strike he won't get an AoO against me. I think. Elena has claws so she is always considered armed.

Richard will make an apology and very politely talk with Akiros explaining to him that if he would like to be part of something bigger than he had here that meant something he could, but that certain stressful jobs wouldn't be good for him or anyone else.

Olegs to sell some of this stuff?

Are you sure you want to do that?

Akiros nods his head slowly. "I can understand your concerns, and even why you did what you did. But my life has been out of my control for so long. Even becoming a Paladin of Erastil was my parents choice, not mine. From farmboy to Paladin, from there to wanted murderer and bandit. I haven't been thinking, just letting my anger control me. Maybe you're right? A cause that I chose myself could be the saving of me."

You can head back to Oleg's without any problems. Time to start thinking about your new kingdom and who is filling what role?

As for the Zombies infesting the slopes of the fort, Akiros warns you and you work out how to remove the curse and get rid of them. All handled in the background.

Richard will spend the journey back discussing the kind of options Akiros would like to explore but advising more stressful vocations might be best to explore further down the road.

Does the undead guy go away once we give him the Stag Lord's body.

"Right I think we've got a last group of bandits to clear out and then we will be over much of the greatest challenges. There's a few other odds and ends but compared to tackling the Stag Lord they seem far less daunting."

At the fort, Colwyn gathers up the more portable of the valuables - the gold and platinum coins, as well as the gems and jewelry.
He also passes around the items gleaned to be magic so that they can be kept safe.
As for the rest - the copper and silver coins, the trade goods, and the armory - he sees them either hidden in the fort's cellar or otherwise kept from obvious sight.

"We'll return for them. Hopefully."

...

During the ride back, he guides Sandy beside Elena's horse and sheepishly talks to the priestess.

"This may come as a shock from the likes of me, but could you teach me about Old Deadeye?"

When Elena does not snicker in his face, he continues in earnest.

"In the past, I've given scarcely more than hollow prayers to Pharasma simply to ensure that I do not enter her realm too soon. My return to these wilds has been markedly different from my old days, and I think the time has come for something for substantial to guide me."

Colwyn is sincere in his conversion interest, and he hopes that Elena can impart some insight about Erastil.

Elena's eyebrows go up.

"Yes, I am surprised. But the ways of the true Stag Lord are open to all, and knowledge of them can do no harm, even in the hands of the unfaithful."

"Erastil teaches us that our true strength is in our community. Mortals are not meant to wander the world alone. Everyone has moments when they are hurt or in need, and as a community we can help those who need it, and receive help in return."

"Many people say that Erastil is old-fashioned, but this is because the things that an ordinary community needs are basically the same as they were thousands of years ago. They do not change. The work of tilling the soil is the same as it was is days long past. Survival and well-being are achieved through work, and most people participate in that work from one day to the next. When all contribute the burden is light. Erastil tells us that 'Nothing Is More Satisfying Than the Fruits of a Day's Labor.' He blesses those..."

"But the bandits that remain in these lands must be made to see not only that banditry will be punished, but that there are also opportunities for those that wish honest work. Absent-mindedly shaking off the latest nip to one of his fingers from his horse, Niadroub Kliip nods along to Elena's words. Before he left the farm, his family had long adhered to Erastil's traditions.

You arrive back at Oleg's, Kesten accepts the bound Falgrim Sneeg with a grimly satisfied smile.

Everyone can pick themselves one MW weapon of their choice as your reward.

Your news of the Stag lords demise, and the ending of his bandits is met with elation. Bandits are a common problem and never fully gone from any land, but removing a large group with a leader will reduce things to the more normal level.

Oleg & Svetlana are overjoyed, already the trading post is prospering thanks to your efforts at clearing the nearby lands. With the removal of the Stag lord trade will increase even more, and perhaps more people will move here and settle?

Do you want to kick off Book two now, or are you planning on dealing with the last camp of the mysterious mercenaries?

Several sandy islets create a ford across this remote section of the Skunk River. Yeah, I'm still here. Sorry; was going to post this morning before work and forgot.

Xan was surprised for a moment as Elena's spell took effect, not having expected it. "Care to give a girl some warning next time?" she asked, though clearly not annoyed. "Thought I'd started shapeshifting myself without realising."

That reminds me; if a medium creature casts alter self on themselves and takes on a medium-sized form, do they still get that strength bonus? The spell's wording makes it sound like that section's only there for when a small creature becomes medium. Not a big deal; can't see Xan using her racial SLA all that much anyway, but figured I'd ask while I thought of it.
