Okay, okay, I'll stop dangling you haha. This isn't much of a spoiler since you're about to find out once the new characters are in order. In addition to Pahlok and Morphling's new PCs and Asha, they will be in the company of Kesten, a level 3 fighter, and three of his soldiers. They are the group that was actually charged to protect Oleg's, and Gavriil will run into the seven of them along the road.
Excellent! Hopefully Talia can send one up the road to meet them!
Pahlok |
Well, now that Asha is likely joining us, I wouldn't want to double up on a divine role when we could really use a dedicated arcane caster. That said, I'm more partial to martial characters, and we currently don't have a character focused in Str. With only a 15 point buy though, any build I make is either super MAD or I have to tank stats down to 7, which is not something I like to do.
I would make a Magus, but that almost requires Dervish Dancing. My other thought is a Blade Adept Arcanist, but the only good way to do that would be to use the Aasimar trick to qualify for Eldritch Knight early. Neither Aasimar nor Magus seems fitting for this campaign, so I'm kinda stuck.

I'd say if you enjoy making a martial character, then make a martial character. Talia's build will make her a debuffer minoring in crowd control and buffing, and with Asha on board and Talia putting some points into UMD as she levels, we should be able to handle the caster roles when the levels start to demand it.
Plus, for Talia's build to work, she really needs to have tough guys to cower behind work tactically with. I think another front-liner will be very useful for our group dynamic.
Asha Medvyed |
Hello all! Thanks for the invite! Just checking in while I read over the threads. Not sure if I will need to make any modifications to my character to meet requirements or not but I will look everything over.

Hi Asha! This is a nice group of people and it is nice to have you aboard!
The Morphling |
While I am definitely still heavily interested in the Gunslinger bounty hunter idea, I could also possibly make another arcane caster.
Maybe an Arcanist, Bloodrager, or Magus (Probably a Bladebound or a Card Caster). Or a Spellslinger. XD Hehe.
Also, WAY TO GO TALIA! You work that Diplomacy skill, girl! :D
RavenVoron |
I've never played a magus before. I've never really understand arcane casters and Martians are simple to build for me. Plus I've never really liked magic. But I hear the kensai is pretty good. I used to play gunslingers all the time. Pistols are nice if you can eventually get a revolver, but other than that I think musket master is the best. Especially if you are going to be our ranged dps.
Just my two copper XD

We've been working together to come up with concepts. Neither of us had expected to have to make new characters... heh.
Mine will be done today. Both builds are almost done, I just have to pick one.
95% likely it will be the Human Aldori Duelist Magus. Pahlok is now working on a ranger or hunter.
I think a magus and a ranger/hunter would be welcome additions. We need a character with some wilderness skills, and another arcane caster to split the duties with Talia would work well. Also, three melee-focused characters will create plenty of room for Asha and I to do our bow/whip/support/debuff stuff without hopefully having bad guys in our grills.
The Morphling |
I'm going with Magus. At this point, I'm down to the simple details like spell selection and skill points. I need to work on his/her backstory and personality - I don't think I'm going to be able to pull off someone as dynamic as Naralesh again, but I'm gonna try to make it interesting! :)
It is remarkably hard to use the Magus class, especially Kensai, and not make what is basically an anime character out of it.
Gavriil |
@Pahlok That's pretty freakin' awesome.... and terrifying. But mostly awesome!
@Morphling Awesome man, so that means you're picking up amateur swashbuckler then? And I'm sure Gavriil could show you... for the right price ;) Then again, by then he may be a little less motivated by money.
Probably not, but a man can hope.

No - there's a new Magus arcana in Advanced Class Guide which lets me take Swashbuckler deeds and use my Arcane Pool in lieu of Grit! :D

*breathing heavily* Done!
*collapses onto the thread* I'll get some more details out in the roleplay. But for now, it is 2:05 AM, I haven't slept well in three weeks, and I have work in six hours.
Goodnight! :)

It's worth noting that Koji has been in Brevoy for some time since the events listed in his backstory. He made it to Brevoy, and managed to get enrolled in a sword of Aldori dueling where he proved a fast study, despite his continual questioning and unorthodox habits. He found himself kicked out of the school before long, and bounced around between various schools of the sword for three years before finally running afoul of the law for what seemed to Koji to be a simple misunderstanding, but seemed to the nobility in New Stetven a detestable act of revolution and defiance.
Managing to skip town, he made his way south and enlisted with the first group on its way out of Brevoy - an expedition into the Stolen Lands.
Confused as to where his path should lead, for he knows returning to Restov could be dangerous, Koji has decided that every legendary swordsman must prove himself against many foes, after all, and if his destiny is to become a true master of the blade, he should test his mettle against bandits and their ilk - as long as returning north might mean death or imprisonment, at least.
Keiji Kentaika |
(I have changed his first name from Koji to Keiji, since Koji is too close to a co-worker's name and I kept misspelling it.)
I will get his tracking sheet updated when I am home (can't access Google Docs at work).
Keiji Kentaika |
Hooray! I can't wait to get back on the road.
Mello, if you kill this character too, you are going to make a kitten cry. Think of the kittens! Spare us! Show mercy! :P
*goes off to sacrifice a polyhedral goat to the dice gods for luck*
(...what? I found it in goat simulator...)

I suppose it's worth noting that there is no outward indication that Keiji is a spellcaster without seeing the interior of the spell component pouch at his belt. He wears a delicate suit of lightweight, exotic armor that covers part of his torso, but does almost nothing to restrict movement.

(Oh, and I will be out of town starting tomorrow until next Tuesday. I'll still have internet and will continue posting, but it is possible my posts will be less frequent.)
Keiji Kentaika |
I'm posting from my phone with a crippling headache and sleep deprivation so my apologies if my post seems weirdly worded or something. I wanted to make a post before I took a nap - Oleg and Svetlana can respond to Gavriil before Keiji gets there.
Mello of Blades |
Although I handwaved this for Maeve's scouting attempt since she was too high up for it to really matter, do keep in mind that with each "round" you take, if you move you'll have to make another stealth check to remain hidden. I use quotation marks because you're not exactly in combat, but try to treat each post like a round until combat breaks loose and actual combat rounds begin. Also keep in mind that moving while sneaking must be done at half speed or incur a -5 penalty. Your sneak will count as soon as you're over the wall, so you can move up the rope fine.

In the future, I think we not delay our own posting while waiting for someone else without posting to say so. It's entirely possible two people could be waiting for each other, heh.
