Yes, I'd like the wand and spellbook - doubt anyone else has a use for either. Naralesh is excited to increase his repertoire. Thankfully none of the spells found are ones he already paid Oleg to order!

Thanks, OGGM, I'll update tonight when I'm at home!
Talia Khavortorov |
Map updated!
I'm not sure how to tackle this bridge thing. I suppose we could leave the horses and shinny across the rope, but that may be dangerous. Would a kno: engineering check be able to tell us whether or not it is?
Of course, someone would have to have Kno: engineering for that to work.
Talia Khavortorov |
I could make a Knowledge (Everything Except Engineering) check...
Haha, figures. I love the flavor of the court bard archtype, but giving up inspire courage and bardic knowledge is a pretty bitter pill to swallow.

Hi! turns out I am trying to get a Ultimate Intrigue's Vigilante playtest, and to start it up I am missing a player doing a Zealot Vigilante.
If you feel like it, you can check the recruitment thread at Corsario's The Birth of Taldan's Defenders. Thanks

I'm intrigued (ultimately intrigued, you might say! ho ho ho). I don't know if a Zealot would be a perfect fit for my initial Vigilante concept though: A young, demure, quiet and polite noblewoman who absolutely does not dress as a man at night, fighting evil at the point of a sword and sweeping attractive young maidens off their feet with his dashing charm and rapier wit.
On second thought, maybe it could.
I'll see if I can get a character together.
Corsario |
Maybe a follower of Shelyn or Cayden Caylean... or even Callistra.
Did you read about the girls in the "Badass" article I put at the start of the recruitment?
Talia Khavortorov |
Thanks, OGGM. I've got the River in F4 and the hills, but I've left the fog over the hex, as we haven't fully explored it yet. I'll get E4 updated once we deal with the mites (I assume that will be the hexploration there).
Talia Khavortorov |
Awesome - hope the trip was enjoyable and there's not too much office-type work piled up!
Talia Khavortorov |
Sorry to hear this, Naralesh. Good luck with your job hunt.
And yes, Paizo was very liberal with the nerf bat this go-around. I'm having to totally rethink my swashbuckler, who was going to be built around inspired deed, combat reflexes and slashing/fencing grace.
Happy birthday!
Talia Khavortorov |
Ah crap, someone post a link for the errata?
Here you go: Advanced Class Guide download for errata. It is a doozy.
Dregan Hirscherz |
Sorry for the delay in posting, everyone. Just got laid off and I've been distracted from the forums as a result. I'll be able to focus on the game again shortly.
I'm sorry to hear that. I got made redundant in 2009, it was not at all fun and very stressful. I hope you find something good soon.
Gavriil |
I'm sorry to hear that, Nara. Happy belated birthday.
Also, I'm out of town till Sunday for a mini vacation I thought I'd have time to post but it looks like I won't. OGGM, just bot me if needed.
Naralesh |
¡Feliz Cumpleaños!
¡Gracias!

Thanks. :)
As far as I can tell, an actual Swashbuckler is fine (and Fencing Grace isn't nerfed like Slashing Grace is). It's the Magus who just lost all benefit from their Swashbuckler deeds.
Talia Khavortorov |
^^ Fencing Grace is fine, but I expect it to get the nerf bat at some point soon. Of more immediate concern is the change to Opportune Riposte and Parry, making Signature Deed/Combat Reflexes builds invalid. Luckily, my swash hadn't gone that route yet so it isn't a huge deal, but I'll be rethinking the build none-the-less.
The magus though, yeah, a lot of builds got hit.
I also find the change to Slashing Grace annoying because they finally added light weapons to the list, but made dual wielding not work - cause you know, kukris are so OP. So my kukri wielding barber bard build will continue to be an unrealized concept.
Talia Khavortorov |
Yep. Combine OP&R with signature deed and combat reflexes, and BAM! Draw attacks, counter them and do damage. All. Day. Long.
Naralesh |
And now Paizo broke mistmail too, with the single most idiotic and unjustified rules change ever.
Now, armor you're not wearing because it morphed into a cloud of intangible water vapor inexplicably and without reason applies armor check penalty, max dex, and arcane spell failure chance.
I'm thoroughly irritated with Paizo's design team over this bad call.
Naralesh |
This mite business is getting out of hand, hehe.
In the My Little Pathfinder: Adventure is Magic campaign I devised (we're doing a My Little Pony adaptation of Second Darkness), anyone who makes a good pun gets a special token they can exchange for a free reroll. Anyone who makes a good dirty pun gets a different token - that they can use to force me to reroll a die for an NPC. You can only have one token at a time though.
It's led to some great names for NPCs. The police force are known as the Constables, for example...
Talia Khavortorov |
My Little Pony / Second Darkness mashup? I'm not too familiar with either, but that sounds nutso. I love the use of puns for tokens, Naralesh.
Talia Khavortorov |
So... perhaps I'm being especially dense today, but is Osterik OGGM, or do we have a new player?
Talia Khavortorov |
Osterik is not me. He is a new player that's been waiting since I took over.
The twists! The turns! Talia herself couldn't write such an engrossing tale!
Oterisk |
Yeah, I sent a message to OGGM (I guess it's been over a year ago now) when he was recruiting a few positions and I sent him my idea then. He said he'd think about it, but this is where he'd let me in if it did happen. So I lurked for a year and asked him again. He said Magna might just kill my character right off and I said I'd take that chance.
Honestly, however you guys play it in game is good with me. I've been enjoying reading your thread for the last year or so and I thought it would be fun just to jump in. I just want to RP it out and see what happens, whatever it might be. Whatever you guys decide in character will be my fate, whether it's death or joining up or something in between.
Also, it's O T E R I S K. It's like the exclamation, "O the risk!" without the H. ...no one ever spells my name right...
Talia Khavortorov |
Nice to meet you Oterisk - and sorry for the misspelling of your name! Talia won't kill you, for what it is worth.
She's a talker, that one...
Oterisk |
That's a fine question Magna, not to mention a timely one.
As a good RP guy, I've got about a dozen or two characters just floating about. I have an exiled Sarkovian princess, a man who wants to build a zoo, a net Magus, a Dwarven crafting Wizard, Gnome Barbarian, An Eagle Rider and at least five different kinds of Dragon Disciples. What can I say? I like me a good prestige class.
Kaalib Coaltongue |
Yeah, well at least I have a backup or two. He did stabilize, so it will only take two days of natural healing for him to be able to get up and move around, providing no one injures him further. Kobolds are notorious for low HP. That -2 to Con doesn't help much.

Since Talia knows you're not lying about the time spent at Abadar's temple (or at least that you know a member of his clergy in Restov), she's going to heal you up.
Naralesh |
...what the @%#$? I totally assumed you were OGGM.
Uh, wow. I have no idea what's going on.
Can you... explain some more about your character? I kinda liked that the rest of the group was normal fantasy staples and had a very grounded, down-to-earth feel. A kobold with a bird in his throat who speaks for him? What's up with that?
Everyone else fits into the setting. No offense intended, but Kaalib seems like he would fit better in a different group.
Gavriil |
I'm gone for a few days because of computer problems and I get replaced by a overgrown lizard who thinks he's a lawyer! Welcome Oterisk!
Also, sorry about the computer problems, but I see you guys have been busy with our new friend. I'm reading up on what I've missed and am putting a post together right after I'm done writing this.
Also, Talia...
DON'T HEAL HIM!!!
Gavriil wants to do it... to spite Magna for not letting them keep the gold mine a secret. He's petty like that.
Sorry, Mags!
