I like the gestalt idea also, works well for this type of game also.
Why is Kingmaker so popular with players on the boards? Is it because of the "oldschool" setting?
I would like to play a serious Tank of some kind. Hardly ever get to do that it seems as someone else usually calls dibs while I'm in the bathroom or something! haha!
For most, I would suspect it's the unique aspect of kingdom building, which is ironically also what causes most games to fall apart.

I'm running it myself, and I'm hoping to do Kingdom building on Skype, possible through voice chat so it can be hashed out pretty quickly. Things will take place in gameplay during the time that's going on, but the actual nitty-gritty of Kingdom Building goes on outside the thread.
I'm pretty much strickly pbp, what with like 5 kids at home, haha! But I've had the best time on these boards over the past few years. But don't tell my wife, it's a secret!
