Hello, I'm back finally, computer is working and I'am reloading software bit by bit.

I have the same concerns about side adventures as Andrei, the other Kingmaker game I'm in is seven months in and we have done maybe half or so of the first adventure. I suspect it will be the end of the year before we mostly complete it. And that's a good pace compared to some on these boards, very few do much better than one adventure per year. Add two or three more adventures and we could be asking for a decade commitment. I am open to what the DM wants to do though. Just glad to play.

As I continue with this adventure, I'm concerned that attrition will set in at a point if we don't keep moving this along. That being said, I am still a fan of leveling "at DM's discression" since that can keep the momentum going. I don't see any signs of faultering interest, but I want to make sure that it never pops up.

So simply put, I'll leave it to a group concensus when it comes to XP leveling or DM call leveling.

Side adventures, I think, are another story. If you haven't been able to tell, I like to leave the pace of the story up to you guys. If you want to stop and inspect, or question, or chat, then so be it. This is your adventure and immerse yourself to your heart's content. If you want to continue on and plow forward towards greatness, then all the power to you. I am only here to make sure that rules are follow and the story is laid out appropiately. You all are controlling the ship.

Well, DM's discretion will probably work best for a PBP. That's where my votes going. And I'm getting a lot better. I should be back at full capacity in a reasonable amount of time.

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

Yeah, I've flipped my last flop. DM's discretion, please.

My position on side adventures is that if they're not in the AP, they should be there so that various elements in our backstories can have some payoff.

Good to hear, Udo!

Side adventures are fun indeed, whether inserted modules or backstory driven.

Male Human Bard 3 (Arcane Duellist); HP: 4/30 AC: 15/11/14; Saves: F +3, R +4, W +1; Init: +1; Per: +4

Tie ins and whole adventures connected to the backstories are great. I'm hoping that there will be plenty in the main arc that interacts with my backstory.

The two people on first watch shouldn't have had there sleep to disrupted for spell prep. correct?

For some reason when I've been going in on the campaign tab, its not been showing any new posts, so I've been skipping over and out of the campaign. Apologies if it appears I went walk about, it wasn't my intention.

Also I wondered if you'd let me change the fighter archetype of Gorax, as I have another fighter who is very similar. As the effects don't kick in until 2nd level it won't make any difference to the mechanics so far, or even his backstory, so thought I'd ask?

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

Naming the specific archetype you want might garner your request more of Kudos' attention, Gorax :)

On another note, I found this song today on youtube. I'd been looking for it for a while. Seemed appropriate.

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

More art.

I'll go for a basic fighter rather than use an archetype, if I can change.

Like the artwork Anwel.

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

Thanks.

Have you been receiving notifications from the campaign, Gorax? There've been posts since your last.

Silver Crusade

Male Human(Shoanti) Fighter 2 HPs 13/13 AC 15/T12/FF13

Last post I see is Stellan's on Friday ... was kinda waiting for anymore discussion and moving on. But as only you and stellan have posted, I've thought I'd wait for the others too.

I was waiting for tracking rolls and response from GM as to if we could follow the risen dead back. I guess I could post a short comment agreeing with Anwel that more information was useful.

Away at Music festival 7-9th Sept, no posting during that time.

Away with family 15-16th Sept, no posting at that time

Please bot if Gorax is holding you up.

Sounds fun, enjoy.
On that topic I'm away on work from 13th to 16th it is unlikely I'll be posting.

Standing by for action in the gameplay thread.

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

What does that mean? Literally standing around waiting for something to happen? Going in and among the bones trying to make something happen? Looking for the trail of the undead we fought, a trail we seem to have lost?

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

@ Andrei: I've recorded the day's happenings so far in your journal. I hope that's alright with you.

Sorry to be unclear. I meant following the trail not knowing in character it had been lost. But given Gorax's player is away that was particularly stupid of me.

Recording in the journal is fine for everyone, I think this is a game that having a record what we did and haven't done is going to useful. If I'm the only one filling out I'll probably focus on the things that are important to Andrei.

Likewise, I'm sorry if I was unclear. I was responding to Bimbur's post just above the post of mine that you quoted. Oops.

Btw Thank you for putting hex references in, the maps I've seen don't have any.

I'm away on a work trip for 4 days, I might be able to make a short post once or twice but I suspect I'll be out of contact.

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

Hope you're having fun.

On the topic of having fun, I've made a few more pictures. Here are the NPCs we've met so far:

Oleg Leveton
Svetlana Leveton
Happs Bydon
Bokken
Kesten Garess

I'm most happy with how Oleg turned out. Holy muttonchops, Batman!

In the interest of letting us visualize NPCs on command, Kudos, would you mind putting these links, as well as links to any future pictures of NPCs, into the Campaign Info tab?

Very nice, Anwel. I like Oleg's chops. They fit him quite nicely.

I think we have lost Bimbur, after I noticed him not posting in a while, I checked for his last post and he is applying in other threads for entry into a different game.

This coming Saturday I'm off to Hong Kong for a week and a half for a wedding (not mine). I suspect getting online in Hong Kong won't be too hard but I certainly won't be on as much or long as normal (and small chance of not at all). Kudos (or for that matter any of the players) has full permission to do what he will with Andrei, particularly don't let my absence cause a slow down in combat (or in the story in general).

In fact it might be a good time to get your own way without Andrei's Natural born leader trait making him believe that if he walks into fire everyone else will be a half step behind.

Gentlemen, it is with a heavy heart that I wish to resign from the position of dungeon master. It seems my job as of late is not going to let me have much time or energy to devote the time I need to effectively run this. I type this (as I have done with many other posts) while I sit at my gate at the airport, on my iPhone.

This is not to say that I don't have interest in this or I have not enjoyed my time but 60+ hour work weeks and constant travel is not conducive to running this the way I should.

If there is anything I can do for a nice safe handoff, please let me know and I will certainly be in the background as a lurker...

Peace and best of luck adventurers!

Male Human Bard 3 (Arcane Duellist); HP: 4/30 AC: 15/11/14; Saves: F +3, R +4, W +1; Init: +1; Per: +4

Thankyou Kudos for running a very enjoyable game.

Everyone else, what do you want to do?

Dwarf HP 11/11; AC 16/11ff/15t; Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +5 Init +4; Per+7/9stone CMD=17(21) Monk (Zen Archer) Perfect Strike 1/1

Sorry, this thread wasn't updating for me, so I assumed things were still on hold. I retreaded Bimbur for a Shattered Star game. If we get someone else to run this, I would like to pop in with an archer cleric.

Thanks for running this Kudos. If we continue, I plan on putting together an archer cleric of Erastil.

Must say I'm stunned, this is the second time Stellan has seen his DM have trouble running for him. I like the group, I'd like to continue, anyone want to throw their hat into the ring?

Kudos, I do like the fact you said this though, too often DMs just disappear without any warning, I find that rude, this is just the sorrowful part of real life. Thanks.

Male Human Bard 3 (Arcane Duellist); HP: 4/30 AC: 15/11/14; Saves: F +3, R +4, W +1; Init: +1; Per: +4

I'm really enjoying the group dynamics too so would perfer to find a new GM so we don't lose a player. Does anyone have a friend that might be interested or do we just advertise on the recruitment board?

There is so much talent here, someone must keep this going...

I feel the same way but I'd like to play Stellan, I think he's fitting in well, also I'm not fully prepared with the AP. I have all the PDF's now but only a quick glance through; it would take a while to read them and figure out how they fit together.

On a side note I like how you snookered me on the Spider Den; I knew about it from one of the other Kingmakers I was involve in but it never occured to me that it was that until you said so. Tricking me with the undead - inspired!

I'd like to see the thoughts on this from Anwel, Udo, and Gorax as well, please post here.

Note that at this moment I'm only in one active KM now, I'd really like this one to be kept going, just not sure how.

Male Human Bard 3 (Arcane Duellist); HP: 4/30 AC: 15/11/14; Saves: F +3, R +4, W +1; Init: +1; Per: +4

I'm off for 10 days as I mentioned before. I really want to keep this going and would be in favour of recruiting a new GM if posible but might require talking to friends as GMs are hard to come by.
If we really can't find someone I'll look at how work commitments are looking when I get back.
I was planning to run KM at some point but was hoping to play it first so I could be surprised.

Silver Crusade

Sorry, this thread wasn't showing with new posts for me. I'd like to keep going with you as well. I have DM'd some of this before for a group, when that DM had real life issues. Then the game folded when he said he wasn't coming back again. Unfortunately I doubt I'd be as inspired as DM Kudos was with this, so would only DM as a last resort. I'd really like to keep Gorax going as a fighter if I could.

Just reiterate my thanks to DM Kudos for his DMing of this. Hope life settles down for you in the future.

I am in another kingmaker that has an awesome DM and is having trouble keeping players. I have asked him to post here and take the stranded over. He has done some excellent improvisation over the standard story, so it is not by the book, but take my word for it, it has to be better than the book (I have never read the AP).

At last count, we had just recruited a new bard, I have a druid, we had a paladin, and we had a combination oracle/magic-user. I don't know how many of the other three are still active. Anyway, this is my character for DM-Tareth's game.

I will have to do my cleric of Erastil some other time :-)

Link to DM_Tareth's Discussion

DM Tareth gave me the OK to invite you to the discussion. I am pretty sure will take AT LEAST two at the moment and up to four depending on how many of the current players are still active.

Male Elf Shadowcaster 4

Oh jeez, I must have lost my dot. I only saw this now. Kudos, thank you so much for all you've done for this game.

If I'd seen this before, I'd have offered to GM for this group, but thanks to Tareth's and Warren's generous offer that's probably no longer necessary. Oh well. If folks want to keep this group intact, I'd still be game for it, either on a permanent basis or til a new GM can be found.

Honesty say I'm torn, I like our group and it's interactions but GM Tareth's game looks even more amazing than DM Kudo's great work. On the other hand it's unlikely we'd all be chosen. Either way I like to keep as many as possible together. Let's see what Tareth has to say.

As to people not getting updates, hasn't everyone noticed that Pazio doesn't use something as ordinary as a server farm to run its boards?
It's obviously a bound demon that knows exactly when to eat posts and stuff to wreck maximum havoc. :p Chow.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Oh wow, I lost my dot as well. I too, thought it was simply on hold. Alrighty, then.
