Welcome to the game! It's great to have such a great player with us, and the character looks to be a fantastic fit as well. My only comment right now is that you mentioned Marcus being happy when the group defeated the Stag Lord, but we haven't quite gotten around to that yet. We've taken out a couple of small camps and his lieutenants there, but we didn't want to go right for the boss until we had a little more preparation and experience under our belts.

Oh, good to know. Thanks for correcting me on that. The fact that the Stag Lord is still around makes Marcus' decision to oppose him a lot more pivotal for him as a person.

It looks like the group is headed back to town on the trail of werewolves. I was going to have Marcus trot out to meet the group on the road, but it seems more natural to the narrative for the group to come find him in town.

Marcus is currently sitting outside of wherever the group's local base of operations is (the local tavern/inn?) and weighing a heavy personal choice. Also drinking. It helps with the thinking.

So, about my lack of posting:

In addition to being back at school, I've been trying to get in contact with Theo's player for... a while now. I haven't managed to actually speak with him since August 27th; when I've seen him online I've sent him messages, but he hasn't viewed them at all. I've cut him a lot of slack because he's a personal friend who I haven't played with in a long time, but I'm feeling like me trying to get him to post and waiting for him is slowing down this game in a way that is ultimately going to kill it. I'm going to get in contact with the other player who expressed interest to see if they'd like to take over the character; if so, I'll let them build a new version and bring them into the game. If not, I'll put up a re-recruitment thread.

I've been avoiding cutting him out of the game as long as I could, but he has self-professed issues with keeping up with PbP games and his life is very hectic. I'm going to update the game today, and I'll be botting Theo again for the time being. Once I know what's going on with who will take over the character (as I'm loathe to introduce another character who isn't part of the group for story reasons), I'll keep you guys posted.

As a suggestion, in a game where I had a similar issue with a friend who I wanted to play with but who wasn't reliable. A good compromise was having that player take over an Eidolon, Familiar, or other type of character who was effectively "dismissible" or could be assumed to be flying around scouting or something.

Then when they are around, they can still interact and have impact on the game, but if they vanish it doesn't kill the game's momentum. And if they have to ask "ok, so what did I miss" there's a good in-character reason for that.

I would consider giving it a shot, but he's so busy that I rarely even see him online to chat, let alone to get him to post. Couple that with the fact that I'm planning to shift control of his character to someone else, and I think a clean break may be better for the game at this point. I might be better off trying to get into a game with him through a real-time platform like Roll20 than something text-based like this. Either way, I'm about to post a Gameplay update to get us moving again; I'm hoping that with everyone else posting regularly, we'll start moving faster again. I have always hoped this game would operate closer to 1/day as a schedule than the speed it moves, so I think this might help us at least potentially meet that goal.

You guys mentioned you were following the path of the survivors, but I'm stopping at this point to make sure you're all still in agreement to follow them to the conclusion. You mentioned you were worried about following the wolf's trail later on, so I figured I'd stop here instead of making you walk the entire way and having you realize it was longer than a 5-10 minute trek. Let me know what you decide, and we'll keep moving.

I noticed that is my reading. But since I came in as a Paladin Of Sarenrae I assume that while the characters might have an issue the players do not. I certainly do not want to step on any toes or be annoying. So far your indignation has been fun to read.

Sorry to hog the spotlight folks. This conversation is going longer than I expected it to.

Marcus is conflicted about killing people who aren't threatening him, but he knows the stuff they've done in the past (and will probably do in the future if they are left alive).

I think what I will do is reveal the presence of the party, let you folks join the scene and leave their fate up to our resident Paladin.

I've seen the Stag Lord's stat block. We are definitely not ready to head to the Stag Lord's fort. They'll heal over time, assuming the one dude doesn't turn in to a werewolf and try to kill us.

Hey, there's a game I'm in on the forums currently looking for another player. It's a Star Wars SAGA Edition game, which is a 3-way PvP game between the Jedi, Sith, and Imperial Knights. The game is set in the Legacy Era of Star Wars, so almost all the books are legal. The GM is asking that you take over the character of the person who left for the time being, but you can swap out your character for someone new after you've cleared this part of the game. The spot that is open is for the Jedi party, and is occupied by a Droid. The Jedi party is currently embroiled in a PvP situation with the Imperial party (which is the one I'm in, coincidentally). If you're interested, I suggest you check out this thread and comment that you'd like to play. If you've never done anything with SAGA Edition, it's sort of a hybrid of DnD 3.5 and 4E, so the rules are easy to pick up. I can get you the books if you want them.

PS: Prophet is in the Sith party as well, so it'll be like a big happy family of people trying to kill each other.

I understand being attached to the West End Games version of Star Wars, from what I've heard it's probably one of the most well-balanced systems you can use for Star Wars. Also, it seems we've found a player, finally.

I've played SAGA. I just didn't like the way it felt. It was actually the balance stuff that threw me.

With a Star Wars RPG system, I'm not really interested in traditional balance. It should be a Simulationist system, not a Gamist system. Jedi shouldn't be in parties with smugglers and droids and have them all feel like they are equally powerful under the mechanics. Jedi are that setting's super heroes, and they should feel like it.

That's what I liked about West End. It really felt like Star Wars to me (particularly the ship combat). The system felt fast, loose enough to easily fudge, and incredibly cinematic.

So first watch is Annika and Gallidren. Second is Prophet and Creon sense they have the sacred darkvision. Then Marcus and Theo have third watch. Right?

Yes, that's correct. I looked through some of Creon's other posts and he mentioned elsewhere he'd have to head back to the US in November, so I'm willing to bet he's not able to post because he's somewhere without an internet connection, or that between work and still being sick he hasn't been able to post. I'll likely take control of Creon soon if he isn't able to post, and I'll continue that until he's able to post.

If he doesn't come back (which I doubt, but it's possible) I'll find another player to fill his slot. I don't think I'll need to worry about that, though.

If not, eventually we'll go ahead and find a replacement for him; I'm more worried about his health, as I'm in several games with him and he seems to have just disappeared after he had been in the hospital. Either way, we're going to go ahead and get moving again.

Creon could take the prisoners back to town. If he comes back to the game he can rejoin the party. If not, he becomes a great NPC to keep an eye on our intrests while we are away.
