Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

so what should we do with him? Leave him and take Rolo instead?
If we have the intention to "save" his little brother we might need his eyes/face.

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

(sorry, had some unexpected guests this week end, so i wasn't able to get online)

here what I think:
*The bandits had some two day rations with them, which is consistent with the fact their camp should be within two days of travel (on horses, that is)
* I guess we could encounter some 12 to 20 bandits in the camp: the first time, they were a dozen with their two bosses, it was a show of force, so I would think they used half (or maybe up to two third) of their goons to intimidate Oleg and Svetlana, and use the rest as guards in their camp. We defeated 5 regular bandits, and Happs. That leaves the axe wielding woman and 12-20 bandits. In their lair. With traps on the road. I think it's too tough for us.
*leaving even one bandit behind isn't my best idea so far... He could pose a serious threat to Oleg and Svetlana, and no one of use could help them this time.
*their horses: why are they so badly treated? Either no one took care about them in the bandit camp, and I seriously doubt it because they are worthy (how could bandits do a quick escape or roam the woods looking for innocent victim on foot?), or their lair isn't made for horses (a cave maybe?). It could be possible that the bandits had not enough money to get food for their horses...could they grew desperate? Are Oleg their only victim? I dont think so...
I think our animal lovers should have a closer look to the horses.

Female Human Inquisitor/1

I like Gordom's idea, but I'd rather just off both Happs and Franco, and then take Rollo along as the guide. That leaves no bandits with Oleg and Svetlana. And Rollo has more of a chance to turn a new leaf and prove he's not a bad guy. Plus if his brother is still at the bandit camp, it might give us an advantage.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

One time, at bandit camp...

@Najara: that's probably the best compromise

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

I thought Rollo's brother was still in Restov.

Rolo's brother is in Restov.

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

So, this is still the same day that we defeated the Bandits, it is a little afternoon and we have a general plan but still need to make some decisions. Do we attempt to interrogate Happs again? Do we execute Franco? DO we bring Rollo with us or leave him with svetlana?

Female Human Inquisitor/1

What more info do you hope to get out of Happs? What he said correlates with the others albeit with more embellishment to try and scare us. If were to try intimidate again, I think he gets bonuses against us for a second try so soon.

I vote that we execute Happs and Franco, and take Rollo with us. It's the safest option with respect to Oleg/Svetlana.

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

I guess from a meta-gaming perspective that it probably isn't worth trying again because I don't see us doing much better than a 22.

Waiting for Vivian and Najara to post in game before posting in the game thread.

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

Done! (sorry, WAY TOO MUCH work at the office theses days..)

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

Juwwem will have a sad face for the next few days.

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

So failing that perception check means no attack roll for me? Darn.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

a fitting punishment for a ranger failing his perception check tbh ^^
too bad you're our ranged specialist :s

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

I figured a plus 5 bonus would be enough. I guess The virtual dice don't like me.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

ah well at least there were a few others to be perceptive this time, you better save those good rolls when we all depend on you :)

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

Eat that, Happs! No rest for the wicked!^^

I am taking a figurative deep breath after that last mini-episode. I don't think I've run an NPC as brutal as Happs in a very long time. Don't know if it's the AP, the PBP format, or how I developed Happs' personality. I didn't expect things to get that dark that quickly. The Stag Lord and his minions are pretty nasty, but other humanoid NPCs in this module won't be so savage. You'll face challenges in the Stolen Lands, but his won't be unrelenting evil after evil.

I thought you all deserved an insight about where I'm at with this campaign.

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

I think the "evil meter" is perfect. The players had a long debate on the subject of redemption and punishment. We were presented with a man who clearly wanted to repent and was almost certainly a product of his circumstances and a man who had embraced his evil and had no hope of redemption. All of this makes the imaginary world you are building that more real. Not everyone we will clash with is unquestionably evil and deserves to die, but that isn't to say that evil isn't present in this world.

All I'm trying to say is that I think you should keep it coming. It's obvious from the reactions your getting that your PC's are interested and involved (otherwise they wouldn't spend a week of real time debating the morality of the death penalty) so I say keep doing what you're doing.

I'm going to a convention this weekend so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to post.

100% agreed!

There's some good roleplaying going on but I hope we won't have more long debates on the same subject. Let's not kill Franco but take him with us. Najara has shackles, and there's at least a few of us who won't mind watching him.

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

If I understand well, Juwwem, Franco is dead too. But I LOVED this RP part, feels even better than when i was a teenager playing around a table.. some time ago. ;-)

And the "evil meter" is just fine for me too. It adds depth to the world, and to our characters too, who have to think about how to react against Evil without becoming evil themselves. It's some adult role playing, I guess.

Franco still lives! (quick, edit your post!)

2 graves only

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

Sorry, how can I edit my post now that it is posted? i don't find an "edit" button..

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

If there's no edit button you can't edit it anymore. We'll just have to pretend you said two (or can't count which is more fun hehe.. or are about to kill Franco yourself :O ....)

Looks like you found the edit button, Vivian.

Glad everyone who has expressed in opinion is having a good time with this. I am too, and overall think the evil meter is coming off well. The bad guys have to do really bad things or there's no point in the good guys fighting them. My earlier post was some personal catharsis after writing Happs killing Rolo in cold blood. I'm also glad to see the heroes showing enough humanity that the eventual taming of the Stolen Lands may not be the result of imposing iron fisted tyranny.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

I changed my mind, let's hang Franco and then chop off his head.
TYRANNY TYRANNY!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA

O_o

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

ah, i found the edit button, obviously.A failed Perception check from my player, maybe?^^

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

definately the player's fault. They're useless aren't they?

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

The edit button on this forum seems rather finicky to begin with. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

I hesitate to post this but do you know it's time-bound?
You have a number of minutes (20? 60?) to edit your post if I recall correctly. I don't know if that's what you mean with finicky?

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

I don't know if it's time bound. I think you might lose the ability to edit your post if someone else posts in the same thread. This forum has a lot of little kinks to make it ideal for role playing.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

You've got one hour to edit your post, doesn't say anything about following posts.

@All: hey guys, like I said in a previous post, shall we stop bickering about what to do with Franco (and Rolo when that repentable soul was still with us)? We can go on roleplaying this execute-or-not for weeks without getting anywhere. If I understand you all correctly, there's amajority now for letting Franco live, right? Your character doesn't have to agree but at least try to keep the flow going (a confrontation once in a while is great but I've head enough for now).

If I'm getting ahead of myself and you want to play it (all) out ignore this and I'll have Juwwem do the talking IC.

Gordom wrote:
I mean, seriously, haven't you seen Unforgiven? You do something like that with a man's corpse and Clint Eastwood will shoot you.

You just had to go ahead and make my day with that comment. I see a real potential in this campaign for Fantasy meets Western.

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

Best line from the whole movie:

"Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a b+$~~! You just shot an unarmed man!"

"Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend."

Female Human Inquisitor/1

Do we really need to spend time burying them? Can't Oleg do that while we are gone? We don't have a lot of time to spare if we want to catch the other by surprise. A half day is a good chunk of time to travel.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

Yeah half a day pretty much ruins the entire reason we took this approach.

Btw: I don't get all the fuss about bringing a corpse (or five!? on the cart perhaps?) with us to the bandits while executing them when they seem not-that-evil-after-all isn't a problem at all :s

I've taken care of the little bit of dialog that needed to happen before you leave. Just let me know if you intend to take off and let Oleg deal with all the bodies.

female Human Rogue (1)-AC 15 FF 12-Ini+3-BaB+0 (+3 ranged)- Ref+5 Fort +1 Will+2 -

FINALLY!
I was waiting since the beginning of the game for Najara to use her manacles and do her coming out!^^

KINKY GIRL!
that was a well deserved butt slapping!

Male Human (Shoanti) Druid (Lion Shaman) 1

I like the game so far. Can't wait to get into more trouble :D

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

I think that won't be a problem (well, it will still be trouble of course...)

Looks like you're on your way to the bandit camp. I want to take a moment to see if I understand how you'll be organized on the march.

Franco is taking the lead followed closely by Gordom on Boer. Gordom is watching Franco for signs of deceit and looking for signs you're on the right trail.

Shix and Vivian are sharing a horse, Juwwem's trying to learn pony management, not sure if Andarr's mounted, and Najara's bonding with Buttercup.

Juwwem:
The one command you haven't figured out how to relay to the pony monster with your knees and feet is "Stop". Don't know why you'd want to use that one.

Let me know if you intend to travel at night and if you're stopping to rest before you get near the bandit camp. Also let me know if you want specify how closely you're grouped together, who's watching the rear, and so forth.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

robertness:
I thought "stop" was only something the rider does when he jumps off yet holds on to the reins and just pulls on them until the beast his necks starts to hurt and it stops pulling you across the ground.

Maybe I should put a rank in Ride next ;)

Juwwem will probably be riding Mountain in the middle of the group so that his mighty steed will follow the rest without requiring Juwwem to do much (messing up).

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

It would probably be a good idea to have Najara and Andarr in the front and back (which one where doesn't matter). I don't know if I can cover the front on my own if something happens.

I know Andarr wants to stop tonight to get his spells back. If we are going to stop we probably need to come up with a watch schedule. Who requires eight hours of sleep for any class abilities?

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

Juwwem could take a watch turn but would rather sleep of course so he might pretend he needs the sleep ;)

Female Human Inquisitor/1

Najara would like to be up front which is closer to the prisoner. She's got her eyes on him.

If we rest, I think everyone save Gordom and Vivian have spells to regain. Shix, Juwweem, Andarr, and Najara all used at least 1 spell in the prevoious fight.

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

OOC I don't mind doing what we have to do. In character, Gordom might not appreciate it if the watch section only includes 2 people. And one of them is City Girl.

Your spell casting was light enough that I'll allow everyone to recover spells if you stop for at least nine hours and no one pulls more than two hours on watch. A nine hour rest stop will have you hitting the "danger zone" early in the afternoon of the next day.

Male Gnome Earth Oracle AC18, F+2,R+2,W+3, Init+2

I think we should rest or not based on if we want to arrive at night or during the day. It's not like we're out of magical ammo is it?

Male Human Ranger/1; HP 9/11; AC 15/12/13; Init +2

Tactically, it would probably be best to show up right before dawn when it will be growing light but we might still catch them asleep. Other than a few healing spells Andarr cast, I don't know if anyone else cast anything. Should we vote on whether or not to rest the full time? I would vote no.
