The voice of the council has been around for centuries, no one is sure what the voice is, though it seems to be the same one since the beginning. Each time the voice appears the kingdom of Gable appears to be in great trouble, though it is hard to tell which comes first, the voice or trouble. The voice is reknowned for being a very powerful being. The one time anyone has been recorded touching the voice they said that his skin was cold, colder than anything they had experieced, like ice. As from were it comes from it is still unknown, though no one has ever seen it enter the city or leave and the only place it has ever been witnessed is in the palace of the council. Finally its authority is absolute, while it appears, only the king has a higher authority on the country and even then the voice tends to appear when the country doesn't have a king. Only the orcs and hobgoblins have ever said no to the voice, and that is what is rumoured to have been the start of all their troubles.
"I see. Well then, I will think about this carefully. If I don't handle an attack on the Voice carefully it will mean the end of any claim to the throne, so I must prepare for it at the right time. Maybe I will coerce one of my rivals to do the deed for me and ruin his own life by it." Marius stands up and offers his hand for a handshake. "I give my word I won't reveal your race, if that is important to you. I don't see any advantage in doing otherwise anyway. Shall we go out now and join up with our followers? The wagons with food and drink should soon arrive, we can still have the feast before I leave."
Marius was careful to give a calm and friendly reaction. It would be absurd to agree right away to such a dangerous request, and if he gives his word on killing the Voice it would mean he would have to honor it. For now, he was more worried about his escort, they didn't show up at all when his rival rushed into the cave, they may not even live by now. Once he leaves he will have to contact the cleric he heard about, that one can be useful in so many ways.
Corvinus goes outside and sees how the wagons with food and drink arrived and are packed out, he tries to see where his escort is, his hand is close to the sword.
I walk around the location, looking for them, or a hint at whom got them (either the tiefling or that rival as I suspect).
I go to the wagons, and ask them to pick the most skilled tracker from themselves and look for them with me together, meanwhile I ask them to prepare for immediate leaving once they unloaded the wagons but do so without being obvious about it.
Seamus is still thinking about what to do. Any action can only harm the realm by acting to divide it. He is still waiting for the results of the beat down activities and hunting to see where things lead. Any replies to the requests to meet with any of the council members?

After a long time of not finding any trace of the guards, Marius decides it is the only way to act dictated by common sense to disappear in the preparations for the party. Marius went back to his own camp, and gathered his commanders for a meeting, he was very interested in the recent events, and how his orders were carried out, plus Marius was also very interested in what information was gathered since he requested an investigation into some people.

He then breaths deeply to continue.
