yeah sounds fair.
it was more of just a reminder that people treat skill 1's as critical failures, for some reason a great deal of people do this. for much the same reason that a nat 20 on acrobatics can't get me across the ocean, a nat 1 shouldnt cause me damage as i sprain my ankle, hahah
what i am trying to say is that it was more of a pet peeve than it was a grievance specific to you
Vincent "Scab" |
Well, let me start from the top of my planning:
1. RUN
_____ a. They follow us.
________ (1) They fight us in druid village.
________ (2) They fight us in town.
________ (3) They track us somewhere and fight us, still on their terms.
_____ b. They don't follow us.
________ (1) We got super lucky. I doubt they'd let a rogue agent just go with no grief.
2. FIGHT
_____ a. We fight in the vault.
________ (1) Use vault as cover. Do not burn grass, bury mines in the grass area so they are less likely to see the mines. The vault provides cover unless they have some super bunker-buster weapon. Also, we have the back door out of the vault (right GM...?) if they penetrate it and we can blast that to cover our escape. Then the plan follows as above under "RUN".
________ (2) Scab then finds someone to train him in power-armor use, nabs a set from the Enclave and paints it up with a cool motif, becoming the most badass ghoul ever. Sweet plasma rifles as a bonu$$$.
_____ b. We fight in the druid village.
________ (1) Ask druids to help and they're willing, but they might be good or they might suck and get wiped.
________ (2) Ask druids for help and they aren't willing, get mad at us, and do their own thing when the enclave comes.
_____ c. We fight in the town.
________ (1) Ask the super mutants for help.
________ (2) Possibly get the whole town killed.
________ (3) Beat the enclave with help from the town, but they'll likely be mad we brought trouble to their doorstep and we have to split the loot.

I appreciate the intent to plan, it's just that for me
FIGHT: we fight a numerically superior and technologically vastly superior army right now
RUN: we don't fight a numerically superior and technologically vastly superior army right now
From the GM's description there's no way in hell we're winning unless the druids turn out to have the tactical capacity of Ewoks in a universe where Ewoks win.

Vertibirds tend to be pretty tough, plus what if they have more than one or if they land at distances wide enough that we can't get all of them.
Diplomacy seems a poor idea at the moment, while it might work eventually right now I expect to be hunted like I just shot Harvey Dent.
How fussed is Edward going to be if it turns out we're not able to save the village?
Marcel the Wise |
A friend of mine raised an interesting idea. What if we and the village hole up in the Vault and try to hold out until the Brotherhood can come to save us? We know they know about me and they almost certainly know about the Enclave coming; if we can somehow get back into the computer, we might be able to contact them.
Plus, we could send Edward off with a druid to sneak through the marshes and get some help.
Vincent "Scab" |
how sweet would it be to get hands on a vertibird?
maybe you can use the deathclaw corpse as a disguise hahah
Vincent "Scab" |
heh, my memories of fallout 3 were mostly sneaking around with jingwei's shocksword, auto-critting super mutants and leaving them in a pile of ash. also got pretty surgical with a plasma rifle, turning deathclaws into ash from across the sanctuary.

happens sometimes in this game (and actually several of my others)
and more so in this time of the year, it seems
The Nameless GM |
Friends and family,
I am so very sorry about not being able to post for the last month. Things have been getting hectic here for the last month trying to get things set up for my trip from SD to MD. As such, I haven't been able to get online at all.
And that brings me to my next reason for being able to post.
I'm not going to be getting online nearly at all after the new year, so anything I want to do, even important things like looking for a job, I won't be able to do.
And it is with a heavy heart that I type this: I going to have to put this campaign on hiatus.
Trust me, I've been having a great time with this, but my internet connections are so limited I can't even look up a job, let alone GM a game. On a lesser important note, my inspiration is not here and as such I'm not able to get the right descriptions and such, but that can easily be fixed.
I do plan on picking this up again. If you wish to join me again when it happens, I'd gladly take you on. When that is, not even I know.
Until then, this is your Nameless GM signing off.
Vincent "Scab" |
Take care of yourself, it was a fun campaign while it lasted.
When things get going for you again, you can message me and I will probably join another game.
I am pretty busy myself at the moment, however, so less games to play and less characters to make helps me as well.
The Nameless GM |
One of the things that will happen when the feast takes place is the druids will be taking the body of the Deathclaw and using it for their purposes. If you guys wish, they can make the aforementioned items. You just need to say if you want a trophy or a helmet made from the skull.
Vincent "Scab" |
I am no intimidator, nor am I a diplomancer. Less encounters, while nice, is also less XP! hahaha!
Tenro |
Heads up,
My posts will be sparing for the next day. I will be flying on a trip. The trip will be mostly leisure, but I will be working via phone/laptop. As such, I will still have time to post.
If you are one of those folks that has estimated the approximate times I am typically online, I will be on at different times. Five hour time zone difference will have me signing off five hours early, but also a drastically reduced work schedule will have me begin posting much earlier.
Vincent "Scab" |
So, if absolutely no one else wants it, I'd keep the head as a trophy. I'd rather wear it like a shoulder pauldron or something, rather than on my own actual head.
I basically just want to look cool. I'm not looking for less encounters, or a diplomacy penalty, and if i am the one doing diplomacy or intimidate, we have other problems, haha.
My armor already has more DR than that, and Edward's does too i assume. not sure about Marcel, but i imagine if anyone would use the armor it would be him (+stealth too, of course).
For the claw, i already have a ballistic fist for melee, which probably does more damage.
Bottom line, at least for the head, I dont want the druids keeping it. I don't want to wear it as intended, but maybe in some other way.
The Nameless GM |
In the Fallout game mechanic, regardless of your level, there are people that are registered as Evil, Good, and Neutral, and as such your actions involving them are affected as so.
For example, the Powder Gangers in Fallout: New Vegas are considered Neutral, so taking stuff from them is considered theft.
Plus....Rule #0 :)
Vincent "Scab" |
is there a spot on the campaign tab that has our standings with various organizations?

Small note. I've got absolutely no issue with delays in games; as long as there's notice. "Just found Bea Arthur's secret nudie photos, taking a three-day vacation to masturbate", good for you. Just gets irritating when there's a break without notice or explanation.
The Nameless GM |
I know this is last minute, but I'm going on a short vacation over the weekend and into the beginning of August.
I'm going to be gone from 1st-5th roughly. I won't have very much internet access so I won't be able to post, but I will be able to keep up.
This all coincides with my birthday being on the 4th.
I haven't forgotten about you guys! I'll be writing some story (what little there is) and design for you guys to work with.
I'll see you all very soon!
