Reth nods to Arsil and keeps his eyes on the cave. He turns to Faeryl, "I agree. Odd for Goblins. Though if they feel they face overwhelming odds the usually flee. Perhaps they found us up to the task. If only we could understand their language".

Reth's body language shows he is a bit frustrated certainly the mask on his face betrays no emotion.


Rocks fall as Arsil slowly descends, nothing too threatening to Rai. She gets to the bottom with little effort.

The silver snake flicks its tongue as it waits ontop of the bag. It's eyes are rubies and tiger eyes to make the design of the snake's body.

Within the stone chest is what used to be paper and fabric which has not lasted against time.

The snake looks up at Rai as he climbs up out of the hole. It then looks over at you moving its head to one side then the other slowly. It waits.

Some smoke is starting to escape from the cave's entrance, it appears to have filled the upper reaches of the cave. No goblins can be seen anymore.

Arsil:
"It looks to be a familiar magical item, granting the wearer extra properties and it can take different forms. I think." The dragon responds into your ear as he pokes his head out.

The little dragon is correct, but you know more. It can take the shape of a dagger, a bracelet, a snake and a shape of your choice. It will likely take it some time to figure out the new shape. Once bonded it can communicate with you using telepathy, give you alertness, and can act like a normal familiar. When in weapon form it has a +2 enhancement bonus and acidic. When in bracelet form it can cast 3 spells on the user: cure light wounds, aid, and shield.

As you reach down the snake waits simply. Then once close enough it moves up into your hand and wraps itself around your wrist. If you don't want to bond to it you auto succeed the will save and it just waits.

Let me know if I am wrong. Now bonded the snake responds using telepathy, 'I am known as Salsil, glad to be a familiar again Arsil, down in the bag is a diamond worth 3k. Nothing else of worth is within 30 feet, I have treasure scent as long as I am bonded. My purpose is to slay those that would be a drain on society, beggers, and such. Do you have a problem on that?'

Arsil soon climbs up the rope with little problems.

If the group just waits an hour the smoke begins to disburse.

Once Arsil is back up he gives her a hand out of the hole. He then collects his rope and puts it back in his bag after handing Arsil's over to her.

He asks her a simple question, "All good?"

He fiddles with his new shield some time until the smoke dissipates more. During this time he asks each of the party members, "Please be specific, what is your role and specialty? I am the healer and support melee."

Then he goes in casting create water at the top of the tunnel and begins to descend with a wetted hankerchief over his nose and mouth. He likely follows Arsil and other front allies.

My role is front line fighter although I can do a small amount of healing.

"I've a bit of book learning and academic knowledge, but my primary skills are in hunting and killing, so I guess I'm more of a second line fighter, though I can fight toe to toe in the front line as well."


The group slowly makes its way down the tunnel, it is now much slippery than before. Taking your time you get to the cave at the bottom with constant water coming from Locke. The goo is all burnt away and the three distinct pools are clear of it as well. The pool on the left is crystal clear, the middle one has a foul smell to it and is a vibrant green sludge of vegetation, the last pool on the right has an oily film ontop swirling all sorts of colors. The pools have rocks at the bottom emitting light, even the middle one but only seen infrequently.

K Nature DC 10:
They are fey.

K Nature DC 17:
These are nymphs, three different 'races' of nymph. They are happy with you for they have not blinded each of you with their beauty. An ability they can suppress.

K Nature DC 22:
They are magical in nature and their skin can deflect most blow except from cold iron.

K Nature DC 27:
You know all about fey and can look at their stats.

Out of the pools three beautiful almost nude female humanoids emerge. Their beauty is almost painful from their perfection to keep watching. The one from the crystal clear pool skin appears almost like a white marble and has platinum hair that reaches the middle of her back. A bikini of shells gives her some modesty. She says, "Welcome to the nymph pools, we offer each of you a boon for cleansing this sight, as well each of you may drink from one of our pools. Locke will not be able to speak or help you in determining which pool to drink of since he is bonded to one of my maidens. Though he will still get to choose after all of you have chosen, and may use the boon to fulfil his promise."
The one from the middle pool has a green tint to all her features, the most prominent feature is her emerald eyes that seem to almost glow. Bunches of leaves seem to cling to her body covering her waist and breasts. Her fingers are more like claws and as she smiles you can see the pointed teeth though it does not take away from her beauty.
The last one has a loose see through gown on, her lips are red as blood. Her eyes are like a feline, yellow and fierce. Her skin appears lightly ruddy.

Perception DC 15, watching the last one for a minute:
You become dazed for 2 rounds. Once you clear your head you remember that her skin had many fine multicolored runes upon it.

Faeryl watches each one in turn, starting from the white, to the green to the red. He stands stunned for a brief few moments as he watches the last one, then shakes his head and clears it... He scowls deep in thought as he considers his options.... While the third appeals to him simply because he is drawn to the dark racially, there are two other options... three actually, as he could always choose to partake of none...

In the end, he lets his racial heritage rule his choice. I hope this isn't a mistake. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. He takes a few steps forward and kneels down and takes a small drink from the oily pool.

In the Tunnel

He shakes his head realizing that it is the effect of these beings that has dazed him. I should be used to it with what I have encountered from the planes but their beauty is quite breathtaking".

Reth kneels and drinks from the crystal clear pool, hoping it purifies him...

Rai will take a look at the pools

He too will he dazed and then shake his head a bit and look again as if having a sense of deja vu...

Rai will then nod and thank them for the boon and take a drink from the red one.


Outcomes of drinking/Please only look after posting what you do:
Clear=cure moderate wounds max (26 hp), remove disease, and sustained for 2 days.
Green=Regeneration 2 until affected by a fire effect.
Red=either enlarge spells or spell like abilities for 1 day, or gain a first level spell as a spell like ability 1/day for 5 days.

Locke shrugs in his armor and says while grinning, "They want you to use you intuition rather than my knowledge. Velerait, you should come out as well. I believe this to be a magical site."


The little dragon comes out of Arsil's pack and goes up to the green pool and takes a drink out of it, then asks a question, "May I take a dip in your pool that I may absorb some magic from your pool?"

After being given permission the dragon backs up a few steps before rushing forward and jumping into the pool. Bursting light emits from the pool and after a few minutes the dragon emerges the size of a golden retriever, it was the size of a house cat before.


The green one responds to the dragon, "Yes you may as your boon dragon."

Male Shifter Cleric 4 - Herald Caller

Reth stands from the drink he took in the green pool.

His body begins to become insubstantial and he vanishes from sight, "Home, I journey back home!"

Reth removes as many of the items he picked up as he can, "Take these, you may need them my friends".

DM:
Seemed to make the most sense here as we do not know the effects of the pool, also whatever you feel confident having Reth drop that he just picked up he will leave behind for the group.


Reth drops a Mwk cold iron heavy mace, Headband of Inspired Wisdom +2,
Ring of Feather Fall, and a Ring of Sustenance.

As the dragon emerges it seems like a stream of magic courses out of Reth and into the dragon. Just before he takes a drink and vanishes.

Now that each of his allies has had a chance to drink he goes over to the red nymph and takes a drink, after he says, "I accept the boon to fulfill my initial service to my water spirit. Would you care to officiate the boon," he asks the red tinged nymph as he offers his hand.

She shakes her head and backs up a few steps as does the green one.

I would say. work on the device of the warlord. Track the remaining goblin band we have from the path. The idea is to reside his power / experiment base. Then head to town and refuel / buy / sell. Then to haven

"If no one objects, I wouldn't mind having that mace if we are going to fight undead... I have no proper weapon for fighting skeletons, if it comes to that... just as a backup weapon of course. The ring of feather fall is nice and I wouldn't object, but that wouldn't leave enough for everyone to have at least one item from our departed friend, so if anyone else wants it, I'll take only the mace."
