GM Wolf |
Sorry limited time and lacking inspiration. Outside description will be weak, plus its night! Yeah! :P
The fort can't be seen in the dark but the burning fires atop of the towers, the burning skeletons lining the path up to the moat of lava all can be seen rather easily. Several large red glowing runes appear to be inlayed on the outer walls. The runes must be at least 10 feet tall and wide.
By the time the group gets down to the road, which looks to be in even better shape than last time they were here, the drawbridge has been lowered and Locke just rides on in to the courtyard. Leaving the horse at the stables he nods to the man at arms and begins to head into the fort.
Arsil Dawnsinger |
Arsil will take that opportunity to take care of her horse
GM Wolf |
So sorry folks, depression hit me hard this weekend and I just didn't know it. You know not getting pleasure out of the things you normally do and I just did nothing much. I guess that is what happens when my sceduele gets all sorts out of whack.
With the drawbridge down, the group slows down and enters. There are no attendants, unless you call a burning skeleton one? No, no attendents.
Each of you take care of your horse and pack up items that you wish. Vuvu goes on ahead to see if he can speak to the Titan about Ash.
The large dog, Thaolin, looks around and looks at each of you for some time before just sitting down and waiting.
Locke Vernariah |
Locke speaks to Arsil in Elven in response to something Elven she spoke to him,
Arsil Dawnsinger |
Locke Vernariah |
They continue to speak in Elven stopping preparing their packs and seem to focus on each other's words. A few words Mirage can recognize are oracle, cleric, Sarenrae, and Helios.
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
Mirage is visibly tense. His left hand is always free, and he looks at Locke and Arsil, although he does not understand what they are talking about, yet.
He moves closer to Thaolin to have some conversation. "So, me and you are the loners here, right? Do you want me to throw you a bone?"
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
Mirage plays a little with the dog while the others are getting ready, impressed that he understands his language.
He tries not to toss the bone where it could cause trouble, but shit happens. ^_^

GM Wolf |
The two of them eventually get done with their Elven talk and move into the building proper.
Feel free to continue if you want.
Thaolin stays behind unless someone encourages him to come along. The four of you move into the fort/castle.
There are many distinguishable features as you travel, some that were not there last time Arsil and Locke were here. Braizers are lit everywhere lighting the place very well. Molten lava seems to jet forth from gutters near the ceiling and fall down into gutters which carry the liquid rock around the perimeter of the room. The temperature of the rooms are at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Large runes of red power dominate the walls.
A fire elemental comes out of a pool of lava and bows before the group, in Ignan is speaks.
It leads you down the hallway and opens a door without even touching it. Within is a small room with chairs, shelves full of books, several chests and a closet.
A plaque on the floor reads in common, 'Leave what you may, it will be safe, the master will summon you soon.'
Arsil Dawnsinger |
seing him stays behind
Ha so we can rest here? she slurch on a chaire after picking a book that aroused her interest Pew a long few days it has been. Eventually we need to sort trough all the stuff we got since a think we will be leaving again in the morning. But right now i am too tired to do anything
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
"Aye. We got a good treasure out of that shitty place..." Mirage sits down, not wanting to check on anything in the room, and keeps his weapons and all. "Is the city far from here? We will need to sell a lot of those..."
Locke Vernariah |
As the group enter into the castle, with the heat as it is his mood drops as if in a depression.
A Locke visibly looks better now in the cool room and sits down he yawns and stretches before answering Arsil, "At least the temperature is reasonable in here. It has been long, don't worry about the loot unless you want Helios to take a look at it. Cornash and the Captain will help us with identifying the items. Hopefully we can get some rest and get to the Inn tomorrow."
GM Wolf |
Thaolin looks at Arsil, and seems to think it over. Then at the mention of another dog and the area looking secure he follows along behind the group.
Thaolin slowly enters through the tight doorway and slams down on the floor.
After about 10 minutes of waiting Vuvu shows up and looks angry. He just grunts at any questions and pulls out his bedroll and goes to sleep.
Several more minutes pass and a light tap is at the door.
A letter is on the floor.
It reads:
Helios sends his apologies and will not be able to entertain you tonight.
If you want better acomodations, some rooms have been set aside for you. Just step out and wait for one of the servants. They may not be able to speak your language but they can understand it.
Seraph, clerk of Helios
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
Mirage stealthily approaches and tries to listen through the door.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Then he nods to Arsil and opens it, taking it to the woman so she can read it.
Arsil Dawnsinger |
It looks like our Huge overlord has already gotten himself some underlings she says with a smile
Arsil will read late into the night and then eventually head out to the same room she used the last time to bed
GM Wolf |
Mirage and Vuvu bed down in the cool room they were led to with Thaolin. Locke wanders out of the room after Arsil.
They find themselves being led by a small orb of light, to a different room near the one they slept in last time. Though the room has a bed and furniture. Locke takes the adjoining room.
The night is pleasant for all but Vuvu.
The next morning another note is left inside of each of their rooms welcoming them to eat breakfast with Helios in the grand dining room. A guide will help you along the way if you don't know how to get there. Vuvu tells Mirage to go on without him, he is not feeling well.
The grand dining room seems to be three stories high and about 100 feet across. Helios is still the same though, looking like a suit of full plate with fire and magma coming from the cracks. He is huge.
The dining table is slanted to accommodate the massive size of the Titan and curved down with a slant to allow medium creatures a place to eat as well. The table is made of a slate stone which must have been magically molded to make such an intricate table. Blazing red runes dominate the walls, and there are the gutters with lava along the walls here too. The table is filled with all sorts of food from nature. Fruits, vegetables, some meats, herb, mostly all plants.
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
Mirage gets close to Vuvu, and watches the man for a couple seconds, seeking the same symptoms the goblins had. Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
"What's wrong with you? Have you eaten something rotten? Or is it those ingredients of yours?"
Later on
Mirage sits at the table and keeps an eye on the giant, titan or whatever. How tall is he, by the way? "I'm Mirage, and I come from the Menador Mountains."
Arsil Dawnsinger |
Wen we departed from here we manages to find the tracks for 6 different goblin groups:
1. a dozen goblins
2. two dozen goblins with some wolves
3. a dozen goblins with a large humanoid with them
4. a half dozen hobgoblins with wolves
5. a half dozen goblins
6. a dozen goblins, their tracks seem to have some liquid in them that glows green
We started with the strongest group. We ended up on a goblin camp with a bit over 35 goblins along with worgs. The village was close to a mine of sorts. Then we left to fellow a small trail of goblins leading away. We managed to track those and kill the dozen goblin or so that were near by.As night was setting in we rested near by and this is were we meet Mirage, Hagrin, Sandfor and David. They were traveling somewhat together. And with the death of Tyrel the paladin the prior day we decided to ask them to join our merry little band. We their help and some of our preparations we came back to the goblin camp. We managed to kill them all at that time. Inside the mine structure we found ourselves teleported inside with once again a good twenty goblin at least, with a goblin divine spellcaster and a few zombies. He carred a necromantic staff that raised any slain goblin back as a mindless undead. He was also in control to some extend to that canine over there. Finishing that group we were able to open the treasure room next to them. It appears it was undisturbed at all and not opened in ages. It seemed the goblin were revering an idol inside the mines, but i am not sure as i didn't see it. Inside of the treasure room we fought the ghost of a long dead arcan spellcaster and after having finished with it we escaped the complex via underground tunnel loosing David. Sandor having died against the undead, and Hagrin disappeared also. That pretty much sums it up
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
Wait, didn't David come back with us?
"Yeah, that's basically it, but the goblins were not in their best shape. A lot of them were like, sickened with something. Also, Vuvu didn't come here because he's not feeling ok. Whatever they got, he's got it too... Or so I think."
GM Wolf |
"Leave me alone, I just don't feel good and don't want to see our 'Host'." Vuvu says rather agitated.
If you push him he becomes more agitated showing you his arms and showing that he appears healthy.
The Titan sitting down appears to be about 20 feet tall, thus standing could be 30 or 40 feet tall.
David waves his hand at her, once Arsil mentions him. The player is just away for now.
Helios' |
"Very good, you have the situation in hand. Once the goblins are taken care of and my rituals are done, then if Ash wants to joing your alchemist he may. The others of you will be handsomely rewarded in gold besides the magical item that you ask for. Speaking of that Seraph." He says with his bellowing voice, intrigued that you have accomplished so much already.
A dark skinned humanoid comes from the side, she carries a scroll case and wears some red silk clothing to cover the essential areas, leaving little to the imagination. "Yes my master?" She asks as she approaches him.
"Record what items they want, they may have told me earlier but I have forgotten." He says simply.
She comes over and asks each of you the details of the magical item to be crafted.
Aa soon as Ash is mentioned a black furred medium sized flame maned canine, large end of medium comes running out to greet Arsil then Locke. Once done with its greetings it begins to be playful with Thaolin. The creature looks like a hell hound.
The two canines take a little while then start playing as if cubs.
Locke Vernariah |
Locke is enjoying the many different kinds of food provided and nodding at Arsil's recap of what they had done.
Taking a moment from eating Locke informs both Mirage and Helios to what the group had done, "Vuvu had collected some mushrooms and distilled it into a poison, the halfling rogue that was with us distributed the poison into the goblins food so that they would not be a full strength. I hope Vuvu is alright, I will check him once this lovely meal is done. Thank you Helios this is wonderful!"
Helios' |
"As long as you fight with this group, they must think you trustworthy and you have not given me a reason to cinder you, goblins are just infesting my lands and I want them expunged or working for me. As you should know being a goblinoid, most goblins run in chaos, though give me a well regimented hobgoblin troupe over humans any day." It bellows out the words in your direction.
The picture is rather accurate of any facial features that you see on the armored titan, almost none.
You don't have a clue about what he is talking about, you can either ask him, your friends, or listen in as they respond.
Locke Vernariah |
Locke nods his head once Seraph gets to him in greeting, swallows the mouthful of ham and smiles, in a sweetened voice he begins to explain what he would want, "Nice to meet you Seraph, I am Locke, if you did not already know that. I would be looking for an item that allows my channeling to be stronger, more healing that is. Otherwise a suit of medium armor, fire resistant and endure elements would be grand to have on it, mithril would be nice making it even easier to move in, also I have a few other plans, but those can wait until after you have spoken to the others."
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
He seems happyer now, and pays attention to Locke when he order his wishes "Oh, I see." When the dark skinned humanoid approaches he copies Locke. "Nice to meet you, Seraph, I'm Mirage. I always wanted to have a full suit of armor, but unless it's made of a very light metal it would hinder me too much. You see, the perfect armor is the one that protects you only from the blows you cannot dodge. Otherwise something to make me stronger or faster would be interesting. Or something to make me invisible..." He makes a pleased face. "Oh yeah, that would be awesome!"
GM Wolf |
Seraph nods to Mirage as he greets her, once he is done asking she has a few questions of her own, "So you want a suit of full plate armor but only in mithril, otherwise a breastplate suit? Stronger meaning gloves of strength, faster meaning boots of speed, or a ring of invisibility? I would have asked Locke these questions but he will likely go over detail later."
Arsil Dawnsinger |
As for myself a Bane baldric, Jingasa of the Fortunate soldier, a Wayfinder with Dusty Rose Ioun Stone, Boots of speed, a headband of vast intelligence or a belt of giant strength, an amulet of Natural armor or a ring of deflection are the items I seek she tell the scribe
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
"No no, no breastplate suit, as I already got one. If you have a full plate made of mithril it would be awesome, but the full plate of regular steel makes me unable to dodge blows, so it's off the hook. Gloves of strength, the ring and boots of speed sound like a deal, and perhaps something that enhanced my dexterity. It is useful both to dodge and to shoot. A ring would also be nice. Is there anything that can heal me without me having to handle it?"
Locke Vernariah |
He looks up, almost with a pained look that Mirage looks to be ready to leave with so much food available, "Really, I have barely sampled everything, and it looks like you have eaten barely a thing. Come now try some of the honey ham, it is delicious."
Mirage of the Gray Mountain |
Mirage raises an eyebrown to Locke, but it seems they were not in a hurry. Furthermore, there was the issue with the alchemist, and they would not move before he had improved. So, yeah, he tasted the honey ham and other stuff he never heard about.
Locke Vernariah |
Locke speaks about the different specialties and makes sure that he tastes at least each dish.
Once full and that is done, he thanks his host, "Thank you so much Helios, I am glad I am able to taste such wonderful dishes, may your reign continue to grow and strengthen. Is there any other business that you want to attend to before we move on?"
Helios' |
"Actually there is, if you would allow me to analyze the necrotic staff and if it helps me I will pay your group adequately for its worth. Remember I look for relics and powerful items. Besides that continue on with your mission and stop in when you wish." Helios says, which seems to be his normal booming voice, you likely would not like to see him yelling.
Arsil Dawnsinger |
I see no problems with you examining it at all she says handing the staff over after looking for it on the loot taking out the Blunted longsword of training, The Glove carrying a Sihedron Rune and the he staff has several crystals on the end of it, there are runes on the staff and many different feathers, the Morning star (of roasting) as well as

Maybe we should ask Locke first? I mean, the guy could be cheating on us! ^_^

Between Locke, Arsil, Seraph, and Helios the items are identified.
