You are traveling in the Iron Gauntlet frigate, sharing the barracks with the Desolum Regiments. that are also going to Telum III, where the initial strike has gained a semi-stable foothold in the planet.

All personnel has been summoned to the Assimularum, where you are then guided to a dark room and shown to a sitting area, were a giant holo -display screen with a planet spinning slowly awaits patiently for you to take a seat.

Male Human

"Great, more combat, at least this place doesn't look like a swamp. We always seem to fight in swamps."

Camael takes a seat and passes Gant the extra ration bar he took specifically so Gant wouldn't take his last one, again.

Gregori hated sitting in the tight restrictive chairs of the Assimularum. His augmentations made the very act a physical trial. Even when he managed the feat some wiseass felt the need to complain about the mechadendrite blocking their view.

The last man that did this was lifted bodily from their seat for a better view with the very same mechanical arm. Gregori played stupid, the man's mates played blind. The commander gave a stern dress down but at least the crushing mechanical claw was respected.

Today he elected to stand against the back wall. No complaints and he found it easier to read the briefing off a dataslate anyway.

Alex sits down in one of the last chairs, Gillian sitting next to him. "So what's this all about?", whispers Alex to one of the others,"Every time I go and ask where we're going, I get "To bring glory to the Emperor!". The truest cause of any, but I get the feeling people don't like me in here." He then smiles, leaning back on the chair.

While relatively new to the regiment, and thus also to these briefings, Liam still had a habit of standing rather than sitting, and doing so apart from anyone else.
It was not really that he was unfriendly, he just had a natural "gift" for standing out.
Even his current position as a lasman was a testament to that fact.
He had been sluiced from speciality to speciality when joining, but nothing had seemed to stick so far.
He had been seconded to the quartermasters, the foragers, the mechanized units, the shock troopers and more, but somehow he always seem to drift back towards the basic grunt.

Sighing deeply, Liam ran a hand over his closely cropped skull, focusing as much attention as he could muster towards the holo podium.

Sergeant Kelliber tried to make sure he always arrived first at these dammed briefings. Unfortunately, when you're ear deep in trading scuttlebutt and scrounging for spare gear, the hours click away too easily.

Walking in and seeing some of his squad already beating him in, he half-grins and nods an informal salute.

Taking up his spot near the front of the lectern, he opens up his notebook and readies himself for the briefing.

"So, any word on the mission yet, squad? Heard anything through the grapevines? "

Contrary to expectations, Athenee was actually one of the first Troopers in the Assimilarum; taking the last seat in the rear row, away on the left-hand side of the room where she could watch everyone come in. Still more remarkably, she actually seems to be keeping still; slouched against the wall with her eyes flicking restlessly from face to face.

Zora on the other hand seems thoroughly amused by her comrade's antics and watches her to the exclusion of all the rest of the room, at least until she spies Sergeant Kelliber heading down the front. She digs her elbow into Athenee's ribs, weathering her irritable glare with remarkable equanimity. "Eyes front, little one. If Sarge is here we're bound to find out what's the kraka soon."

“Telum III is a hellish world, only recently made remotely habitable. Much of the planet is covered by rocky terrain and dominating canyons with some arctic areas; there are even oases of sorts, in the form of hostile jungles teeming with dangerous predators. Telum is rich in natural resources and minerals, mainly petrusite. Most settlements are centered on mining operations, and the largest city is Verrian, though it bore more resemblance to a very large slum as opposed to a sprawling city. Currently most of the planet's economy and resources are centered into building and maintaining Telum’s large armies and a fleet to defend the Kerberus Sub-Sector, leaving little funds for the improvement of the general population's well-being, hence the slums like appearance, and very spartan civilian infrastructure, and a visible lack of luxuries on Telumen populace.”

Athenee threw a weary glance Giovanni's way, out of all likely proportion to her age and experience. Are enemy cavalry flora or fauna, I wonder? She was reluctant to speak up in front of all these people and risk drawing Sgt Flavia's glare, but in the end she had to ask.

"Are there any records of anything local that's likely to see our Stalkers as prey animals, sir?" It wasn't hugely likely that such a creature would survive the experience, but it could be inconvenient for the Stalker's rider.

>>>> Telum III Flora & Fauna
>>>>Data Recovered
>>>>Source: CLASSIFIED/RESTRICTED

"Although a harsh planet, Telum does have several basic forms of wildlife as befits a natural ecosystem. Insects seem to be the primary form of indigenous life, though most seem to be somewhat larger than their average counterparts.
Included are many harmless electric beetles that seem to fill the lower half of a natural food chain, serving as common scavengers that help to keep the planet free of organic refuse. Likewise, there are also aggressive predators in the form of the common spider, which can grow to be as large as or larger than any large rodents (i.e. rats, beavers, capybaras, etc.). It is normally found in the subterranean areas & wastelands of Telum III; based on observations, it seems to hunt prey by stunning them with an electric shock/bite, upon which it hunts as any standard spider would, via the dissolving of prey into a liquid and immediate ingestion of said liquid.
Telum’s plant life is also larger than standard flora, as several plants are seen bearing resemblance to standard weeds, but are much larger. In its more tropical regions, Telum is host to plants that can only be classified as bizarre. Some are almost animal-like in appearance, such as large fungi that appear to have hyphae structured like crab legs, and carnivorous plants resembling spider legs that attempt to skewer prey as it passes. Some plants share some similarity to Terran plants, to a small degree fly traps specifically

>>>>Pg. 3

"The small insects found all over Telum III are detrimental to our weaponry as it increases many guardsmen duty to maintain the equipment clean or they will cause malfunctions."

"Spiders will attempt to make a nest in hangars, I repeat you must be diligent or you might find yourselves in a useless ignominious death"

There are 4 major types of carnivore plants so far encountered, the only one missing in the presentation as it's the most recent addition, its cactus like in appearance and if anyone steps with a certain radius, it will fire every dart that delivers a neuron-toxin that will paralyze you and then you will be slowly dragged under the earth to be consumed."

"Predator of note is the shocking lizards. They are half the size of a horse and vicious predators, that attack even when not hungry and highly territorial."

"Another animal of note of importance are the Fiaras, they resemble ancient Terra deers, but of half their size twice as much aggressive and a delicacy to us, and an apparent pest in the planet, they are more than likely a external species that has made the best of a extremely hostile environment somehow"

"Questions regarding this subject?"

Lovely, kraking lovely.

However inadvertently, the briefing officer had addressed her first worries. Spiders, cacti, shock lizards and Fiarae, all of which were bound to take a heavy toll on the squad. But not her, not if she kept her eyes peeled and kept a watch on all sides. For now she kept her mouth shut, her arms crossed across the bottom of her ribs and simply absorbed the information.

"Regarding the locals, weaponry and armor load outs typical? Are we looking at Las rifles and flak vests, power armor and force weapons, artillery, cavalry?"

After the spiel about flora/fauna: "Any know repellents for the insects and/or prrdators? Any success capturing o containing the lizards? Will the local fauna serve as acceptable prey for our riding beasts?"

Your 1SG relays your questions to the Commander, which nods in your direction before asking the question like he thought of it himself.

"We have not captured live specimens and no known repellents are known to work on the insects other than not carrying something that produces electricity which will be hard enough. In regards to the Fiara is an edible source and is likely to be your primary source of meat while stationed in Telum III, do to the severe electrical thunderstorm that last anything from 6 to 20 days, supply and logistics should be modified to suit the circumstances accordingly, as well as any kind of support from the imperial navy."

"On a side note, your auspex might prove highly ineffective when going through the lush jungles of Telum III, as the electrical beetles and other critters will interfere with the readings."

"The Telumn peoples lives of extreme hardship naturally make them hardened soldiers. Most of Telumen soldier wear urban camo fatigues and environmental adequate camo in accordance to their location.
Fiscal and natural resources go towards there military, leaving little for domestic development.
The Telum military's primary tactics primarily relate to the implementation of vicious, rapidly sweeping surgical strikes reliant on the element of surprise, focusing almost completely on offensive based strategies. However, our first engagements have shown that the Telum military is adept in defensive tactics as well, springing numerous traps and ambushes."

"They do have 2 weapons that are new to us, they use something called Arc and Rail technology, but we have to see the capabilities as, there has been no equipment recovered and no survivors in engagement were such devices have been deploy."

Normally all players decide on a "package" of things they might want spending the Logistics, as you did now, you were basically trying to get things for your self as a personal logistics, while the Sgt. has the highest chance do tho his position and better suited for the roll xD. I won't stop individuals from trying to get their own thing as long as they can do the roll and afford it. This is the initial give away so it's basically you trading in something or getting additional equipment using the chart for additional kit items. Adding a lascarbine would be 10 Logistic points"

You failed by 4.

So you get a surprise item and loose your 10 points :)
