Sounds like you have quite the "interesting" job.

Yeah, you could say that. I'm a Deputy Sheriff for my county. Luckily, and thankfully, no one was injured during that incident. We've been having a lot of volatile calls recently, several firearm related incidents not only in our jurisdiction but in some of our cities as well. I think people are getting a little crazy with the weather change.

I used to be a municipal police officer so I know what you're dealing with.

I miss the pursuits; I don't miss the paperwork the pursuits generated... or the constant domestic calls.

I imagine working out in the county is more dangerous given backup would take longer to reach you.

Nice to hear from a fellow officer. I do love pursuits, but agreed with the paperwork. Reports are a pain.

It can be more dangerous at time, thankfully I work for the 4th largest sheriff department in the state so we typically have 6-7 guys out covering our county. That being said... backup can still be anywhere from 10-15 minutes away. It's all about having a no-nonsense attitude as not only individual officers, but a department as well. Compared to our municipal departments we have fewer officer involved incidents because of how we handle those types of situations; swiftly and aggressively. I do love my job though.

Wow, what a weekend. Spouse and I got paid friday, we go shopping, take kids out for a nice dinner, buy a tree, bring it home atop the car, come in the house, and find out we've been robbed! Someone smashed in the back sliding glass door, grabbed the family computer (an old laptop), the Wii, and the oldest's personal laptop. Kids are very upset and there's glass all over the kitchen floor. Took some serious effort to get things back to normal.

Saturday night we had set up and decorated the tree, and then we were sitting there watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and suddenly the tree starts toppling over! I make a dive for it and catch it before it hits the floor, saving many ornaments.

Then on Sunday we saw Hobbit, which was excellent. So, crazy weekend.

Sorry to hear about your house, Elen! Hopefully your local law enforcement catches the burglar... Also I hope the rest of your holidays go much better than they seem to be.

Yikes! That's awful.

Yikes is right. I hope they catch them. Did the police even dust for prints or just come take a report?

In a lot of jurisdictions unfortunately they don't dedicate much investigative resources to non-violent crimes...

It's the same everywhere, the clubhouse that I play at from time to time was broken into four times in two months, the police only bothered to show up the second time, took a look around and politely told us there was nothing to do about it.
We got a reinforced door now, and reinforced windows, but it took a LOT of bickering with the landlord.
In the end, I took my rpg books home again, it was practically the only thing left for them to steal at that point.

The biggest blessing is that you and your family weren't home. Times are lean and it makes for more desperation. Seems the baddies in my neck of the woods are getting more and more brazen.

Male Human

I hope they catch the bastards, but as Song of Chiroptera said its a good thing you weren't home; after all material things can be replaced.

Yeah, life is the most precious.

Given the whole Christmas family coming into town business I'm going to be out of commission until the New Year. See you guys then.

Sounds good, Keolin. Merry Christmas everyone!

Joyous Crystalhue!

Male Human

Enjoy yourselves everyone, hopefully we'll all come back with even more energy!

As far as our plan of attack goes... If Helios is unsuccessful with diplomacy then perhaps we should fall back and try to split the sprites up.

Merry yuletides to one and all.

I'll get a post up this weekend. Holidays have been rather hectic.

Indeed! I suppose I could get a post in... Didn't realize I haven't responded to the sprites talking about the witches! Lol oops

It will also make you immortal (and in constant pain), or super powerful (but needing to sustain yourself by feedin on other force users).
Yay the darkside! Haha.

Male Human

No one ever said we had a great retirement plan...that is something we are still working on.

Male Human Adept WS 41, BS 37, S 23, T 40, Ag 28, Int 23, Per 33, WP 40, Fel 33, Wounds 10/10, FP 4/4

True, but you do have cookies...

You know, when I saw my to hit roll I was happy, thinking I'd have scored a good hit, but then I realized that sprites probably have most of their AC from size and dex, so the touch AC is probably pretty close to the normal AC anyway.
Live and learn...
Or much more often: live, learn, forget and then be reminded (often painfully).

HP 19/36, Temp HP (0), Nonlethal 12, -4 max hp(from con damage), AC 19 (17), Fort +4 (+6), Dex +0, Will +4 (+6) Rage 0/6, Command Undead 5/5, Assume Fate 2/2, Spells: 1st 6/7, 2nd 3/4 Active Effects: 2 Wis damage, 4 con damage

I really liked that scene with the fae. I'm also really liking how big a role language is playing in this game. That isn't something you see often.

You guys make GMing really easy, and I really enjoy watching your characters move through the adventure. I ran this with a live group before and it is nice to see the depth of roleplaying that comes with the pbp format.

Sovereign Court

Female Ulfen 4th Level Inquisitor (Witch Hunter) | HP 27/27 | AC 20 | T 15 | FF 15 | CMD 19 | Fort +6 | Ref +6 | Will +6 | Init +6 | Perc +9 | Sense Motive +11 | Judgement: 1/2 | Spells: 1st - 3/4, 2nd - 2/2

Thanks Keolin, I agree. I am greatly enjoying this group of characters. Everyone brings a little something to the table that lends a very organic feel to our group. So many groups feel almost forced, I don't get that from ours. Keep up the awesome work everyone@!

Male Human

Same here, I find the group chemistry to be great; it has just the right amount of bickering and banter and of course the variety of personalities and ways of thinking, has also been a huge factor.

Oh and sorry for slacking off the last few days, just got a new job and I am still trying to adjust my schedule.

Roll 20 Site Bard 2 | HP 14/14 | AC:14, T:11, F:13 | CMD:12, CMB:1 | Save (F+1, R+5, W+4) | Init:+1 | Perc: +8 | Bardic Performance 0/10 | Lvl 1 Spells (0/3)

Having a great time as well. This is the first "diplomat" type character I've played. Got a Bard in my meat-space group, but he's more of a musician with a shallow disposition, than a personable character of earnest demeanor like Helios.

But the dynamic here is very unique. Especially with the language thing. I had my doubts at the onset, but Ragnar's made a believer out of me that it can actually enhance the dynamic vs hinder.

Great job all around team!

HP 19/36, Temp HP (0), Nonlethal 12, -4 max hp(from con damage), AC 19 (17), Fort +4 (+6), Dex +0, Will +4 (+6) Rage 0/6, Command Undead 5/5, Assume Fate 2/2, Spells: 1st 6/7, 2nd 3/4 Active Effects: 2 Wis damage, 4 con damage

I'm a firm believer that any and all limitations and handicaps in a party's makeup can instead become sources of inspiration and drama if everyone just agrees to treat them that way.

From a story perspective, every hinderance is actually an opportunity for roleplaying.

Question for you guys- my other table of RoW has been slowing down a lot and there are only 3 of the players that are still posting frequently. I'm tempted to drop that table and put the active ones into this table. What are your thoughts? Any objections or other feedback?

HP 19/36, Temp HP (0), Nonlethal 12, -4 max hp(from con damage), AC 19 (17), Fort +4 (+6), Dex +0, Will +4 (+6) Rage 0/6, Command Undead 5/5, Assume Fate 2/2, Spells: 1st 6/7, 2nd 3/4 Active Effects: 2 Wis damage, 4 con damage

If they're reliable, I'd be fine with it.

Roll 20 Site Bard 2 | HP 14/14 | AC:14, T:11, F:13 | CMD:12, CMB:1 | Save (F+1, R+5, W+4) | Init:+1 | Perc: +8 | Bardic Performance 0/10 | Lvl 1 Spells (0/3)

Same thought. Plus, no bards. Heh, just kidding.

Female Elf Witch (Winter Witch) 3 / Cleric VMC | HP 21/21 | AC:14, T:13, F:11 | CMD:13, CMB:0 | Save (F+2, R+4, W+4) | Init:+3 | Perc: +8 (-2 without familiar)

Sure, we can meet them in the woods perhaps. Are they farther than us, less far, or about the same?

Male Human

If it makes your life easier Keolin I say: why not?

Sovereign Court

Female Ulfen 4th Level Inquisitor (Witch Hunter) | HP 27/27 | AC 20 | T 15 | FF 15 | CMD 19 | Fort +6 | Ref +6 | Will +6 | Init +6 | Perc +9 | Sense Motive +11 | Judgement: 1/2 | Spells: 1st - 3/4, 2nd - 2/2

I agree with the others. As long as they are reliable posters, I'm fine with them joining us. The more the merrier?

Male Human Adept WS 41, BS 37, S 23, T 40, Ag 28, Int 23, Per 33, WP 40, Fel 33, Wounds 10/10, FP 4/4

Three more? Well, I guess we can work with that.
I'm a little cautious since we've got a good balance here, but if we work hard we should be able to keep it AND include them too.

I've extended the offer to the active players on table 2 and I am shutting that table down. So we may have a few new players here. They are at the tatzylwyrm encounter. One of them is currently in the jaws of the beast grappled at 1 hp. So it would be awfully convenient for you guys to run into them soon.

I think I would just have them be another party of adventurers also looking for Lady Argentea, and assume that there were two tatzylwryms in the forest instead of one (since you killed one already).

Male Drow Fighter 4 / VMC Magus: Init +3; Senses Low-light vision, Perception +9; AC 19 (+3 Dex., +3 armour, +2 shield, +1 natural); hp 22/32; Fort +5, Ref +4, Will 0/+2

Hey, all! I was the one in the beast's jaws. ^^ I hope we'll have a good campaign together.

HP 19/36, Temp HP (0), Nonlethal 12, -4 max hp(from con damage), AC 19 (17), Fort +4 (+6), Dex +0, Will +4 (+6) Rage 0/6, Command Undead 5/5, Assume Fate 2/2, Spells: 1st 6/7, 2nd 3/4 Active Effects: 2 Wis damage, 4 con damage

That's a neat way of getting the two groups together.

Howdy Droviz. I thought our group would have a hard time getting weirder. Now we have a Drow.

Sovereign Court

Female Ulfen 4th Level Inquisitor (Witch Hunter) | HP 27/27 | AC 20 | T 15 | FF 15 | CMD 19 | Fort +6 | Ref +6 | Will +6 | Init +6 | Perc +9 | Sense Motive +11 | Judgement: 1/2 | Spells: 1st - 3/4, 2nd - 2/2

Haha, no kidding, Ragnar.

Male Drow Fighter 4 / VMC Magus: Init +3; Senses Low-light vision, Perception +9; AC 19 (+3 Dex., +3 armour, +2 shield, +1 natural); hp 22/32; Fort +5, Ref +4, Will 0/+2

A masked Drow. ;) Droviz doesn't expose his racial identity. He feels doing so would be a good way to get killed, out on the surface.

Female Elf Witch (Winter Witch) 3 / Cleric VMC | HP 21/21 | AC:14, T:13, F:11 | CMD:13, CMB:0 | Save (F+2, R+4, W+4) | Init:+3 | Perc: +8 (-2 without familiar)

Who are the other members of the other team, a grippli, a nagaji, and a changeling? Maybe an android?

Male Drow Fighter 4 / VMC Magus: Init +3; Senses Low-light vision, Perception +9; AC 19 (+3 Dex., +3 armour, +2 shield, +1 natural); hp 22/32; Fort +5, Ref +4, Will 0/+2

Nah, we got those guys drunk at the last tavern, picked their pockets and left them with the bill. With luck, they'll still be working off their debt by the time this campaign finishes. ;)

Roll 20 Site Bard 2 | HP 14/14 | AC:14, T:11, F:13 | CMD:12, CMB:1 | Save (F+1, R+5, W+4) | Init:+1 | Perc: +8 | Bardic Performance 0/10 | Lvl 1 Spells (0/3)

Half of me says: "This guy's great!"
The other half says: "Fiend of the Underdark! Get him!"
- spake the half elf.

Welcome aboard!

Male Drow Fighter 4 / VMC Magus: Init +3; Senses Low-light vision, Perception +9; AC 19 (+3 Dex., +3 armour, +2 shield, +1 natural); hp 22/32; Fort +5, Ref +4, Will 0/+2

Thanks! ^^ And Droviz is less 'fiend of the Underdark' and more 'amiable guy who just tried to survive and score a few bucks in the Underdark'. :p So far, he likes the surface better. More bucks, less chance of being sacrificed to demons.
