Parker blushes. She seriously considers elbowing Dev, but is frankly blushing too hard to follow through on the impulse.

Bluff 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 +2 if attracted to Parker

Sense motive DC 15 or 17:

Parker is certainly not against the idea as she stands there next to Dev. Of course, she also has feelings for Johannes, which makes things a little confusing. Shes pretty sure youre not supposed to have feelings for more than one person. Clearly her evil birthright was rearing its head, giving her desires, making her act so wanton that she'd brush up against one man, and allow herself to be lifted by another. Both of them men she found very attractive. That she felt drawn to. Men she thought about in improper ways. Who were kind and wonderful and deserved so much better than her. And she has been told all her life if she looses control terrible things will happen... but her mind does go there and wonders briefly what it would be like. To take flirting to a higher level. To give in to her desires. But she couldn't, it wasn't right. What if she lost control?
And the blush deepens at the blood sucker comment.

"I am... of course... always at your beck and call." He smiles, "Since we already determined that you are not stirge-friendly, we do need to keep the blood suckers away from you." His forehead gets furrowed at Devraj's intimate handling of Parker.

Her eyes reflect his smile. For a moment, his expression makes her heart skip a beat. She breaks off from his gaze. Looks down. Confused and filled with so much emotion. When the woman talks, she breaks Parker out of her reverie.

Kendra looks over at the old woman, oblivious of the interplay of her friends. "It is a fine, amazing wagon, but you are trying to rob us blind." Said with a friendly smile but quite sincere.

Kendra's words allow Dev's eyes to break away from Parker's face. They turn towards the old woman, an eyebrow arches inquiringly. "Surely that cannot be so? Perhaps we just misheard what was said."

Parker has forgotten for a moment what she came here to do. Her mind spinning. Shes not entirely sure what he means by... not a bad idea, but there are certainly a number of things running through her mind. She looks up at him, at his eyes, grey eyes framed by black lashes. Everything was shades of grey. But she wasn't just shades. She was tainted and dark, and he had no idea what he was getting into.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 sense motive on Dev

Dev looks away, and she takes a step back, out of his arms. Her mind clearing.

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 diplomacy

I offer 500 gold. she says softly to the woman.

14. well...he's certainly attracted to her. ;)

Dev breathes through his nose, his left eyebrow raises slightly as the two women engage in what seems to be fairly obvious high/low barter exchange. Thrust, parry, counter. He wears a friendly smile in silent observance.

Devraj wrote:

Parker tries not to blush.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 bluff. +2 if attracted

Sense motive DC 10 or 12:

Disbelief. He's not just flirting... he's actually attracted? Oh. Joy and fear, both. It was ber blood singing to him. He couldn't possibly actually like her. It must be the changeling blood. Especially since Johannes comported himself so well, and while he might not be as physically imposing as Dev, his mind could resist her. After all, he wasn't acting any different from his normal reserved self. And she was pretty certain shed practically thrown herself at him.

Parker takes a breath, tries to focus on the negotiation. But her mind keeps coming back to the fact that Dev likes her. Because she likes him, and she likes Johannes, and she knows she can not have what she wants. Entertaining the thought is almost painful. What if he actually likes her? What if hes stronger than her lineage? Hope. Desire. She steals a glance at Johannes and then one at Dev. Her heart was pounding. Surely everyone must hear it, it was so loud.

The old woman snorts, one eyebrow raising, truly offended by the low-ball price. "Do you think that you are buying some old goat herder's home or something?" She clucks her tongue, "Psh. I might be willing to go as low as 2700 gp for a woman who will be using my old home so vigorously." Looking suggestively at the two gentlemen escorting the singer.

"I think I do not like the term, dear. That is how you address letters to your spinster aunt. Or its the four legged critter you shoot for dinner." Parker almost whispers.

She looks at Joe. The tension in the room rising. She's not entirely sure she can have the conversation she wants to have right now. She either needs to negotiate or drop the idea of a wagon of her own. And then she can deal with her feelings.

But her feelings will not keep quiet. They bubble to the surface, threatening to overwhelm her.

Dev wears an easy smile, "Far be it from me to call the Lady something she doth not prefer. Perchance later we can find something better than." he turns to the wagons owner. "I apologize for my rudeness. Please continue."

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 bluff +2 if attracted

Sense Motive DC 20 or 22:

Parker is somewhat distressed that neither man seems taken aback by the woman's suggestive stare nor her veiled comment about Parker's virtue. Sure Parker is a flirt, but she's never done anything beyond flirting. And neither man sees fit to come to Parker's defense. Dev even apologises to the older woman for his rudeness.

"2700? I'm blind, not simple minded. That's highway robbery."

Mana:
as u know, we don't have that much, and the wagon is not necessary, but seemed like a fun idea. For 2000 gp I could buy some really nice magic items that the party can use. I was under the impression u said Wagons start at 500 and top out around 1000gp. I'm not spending 2000 gp. If u have changed your mind and are now ruling I cannot get the kind of wagon I wanted for the price we previously discussed, please tell me and I will have Parker buy a cheaper wagon or find some other accomodation.

Dev leans back casually against support, hood shading his eyes. He is trying to read the two women to see where they are at, but the clues are at least temporarily evading him. He glances at Joe, perhaps if it came to it, he wouldn't mind in sharing a gift to someone they are both interested in?

Parker:
Since I knew that one of your main goals in having the wagon was your dimensional closet, I was providing a higher-end than normal wagon, where the additional 1,000 gp was part of the material components needed for the enchantment.

If that isn't an expensive that you want to start paying for now, I understand. The white and green wagon would be 1,000 gp and the final red one would be 800.

Joe Sense Motive 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

The old woman shrugs, "I'm not in any great rush to sell my memories. Might be a hard thing for someone who has their life in front of them to understand."

Mana:
it would have been nice if you had mentioned that to begin with. I like wagon and I eventually want the closet, but I'll need to sit down with Gav and figure out if I can afford 2000. I don't know right now.
Parker looks apparaisingly at the old woman. Her expression hard to read. But someone who knows her will might hear coggs turning in her head. She hates negotiating and haggling. She doesn't look at either man in the wagon.

Parker:
Sorry. I had two wagons that were in line price-wise with what we discussed and a third option that I thought was more in line with longer term desires. I thought the higher price along with Mag's mention was an indication that this wagon was something slightly different, but I should have made it more clear.

The old woman stares back boldly, her old weather-lined face shrewd. Granted she probable learned the by-play of haggling at her mother's knee.

Dev's gaze travels between the two women, he separates himself from the support he was leaning on. His hand moves to Parker's waist and applies light pressure towards the door, a definite firm suggestion. "I believe there were others that we were interested in as well. Perhaps we should take a look at what else is available and tender offers to each to see where we stand before making any commitments." His eyes turn back to the woman, "You're sure you wouldn't have a lower number for someone who would love and care for your home as much as you obviously have over the years?"

"Pfaw." A decidedly coughing annoyed sound, "Atėmimo moteris mažai džiaugsmo.Liūdnas pasaulis nuėjome." The varisian comment directed to Devraj. In a tone that starts with a decided sulk but ends far more cheerful, to Parker she says, "If you decide that you want him, for you, 1500 gold." She straightens, as much as she can, "For anyone else who comes asking 2000 gp." Her old eyes serious, "But he deserves to be on the road again, to see the world with someone who will be living in interesting times."

Varisian:
Depriving an old woman of a little joy. Sad world we have come to.

Dev stops in his tracks and whispers in Parker's ear. "That...was actually better than I was expecting. If you think this is the one you want. I can help you get it."

Parker/DC 15 Perception:
"He can be a bit cranky and opinionated, but if he decides he likes ya you'll always have a safe harbor in a storm." Her hand tightening around Parker's for a moment as she gives the advice... warning?

"Do you want me to arrange to have him taken over to the Kin? Or do you want to pick him up later?"

Parker:
Assuming that your closet is made in Vitor, Parker has provided 1,000 gp towards the 5,000 Kendra needs to create the extradimensional space.

Any other oddities of the conveyance will come up in character.

You can either start a scene on this board or let me know if there is a scene you want on the discussion board.

"If you could arrange to take him to them, that would be very kind of you." She answers. And to anything else the woman might have said, Parker nods, once. Expression both serious and curiosity spiked.

The name should have been the first clue." She teases, but it's half hearted. There is something on her mind.

"Ah, of course." Dev's grin does not fade, his eyebrow arches again slightly, "Penny for your thoughts? I know we have to go, but I have been known to walk and talk at the same time when necessary." A bit of self-deprecating humor.

The look is at least slightly peeved. Towards both men. Dev's smile is making her even more annoyed. And her damn time is worth more than just a penny! First neither man defends her when it's warranted, then they patronize her, and now this... ugh! MEN!

Dev's smile gets even broader for a moment, then he wipes it clean and at least pretends to focus on the situation at hand and where they're going. "There does appear to be something bothering you. One of my comments..or something else?" he says. Not entirely in her direction.

Devraj wrote:

It is quite possible Parker is about to say something harsh, and then stomp her little foot for emphasis.

"Well why don't you think back to what you said and what you did and didn't do, and use your keen superior intellect" She looks at Johannes during the intellect part, "to figure out just how many pennies you'll need, because I'm almost certain you don't have enough." and then she stomps her little foot, turns, and begins to stomp away, quite possibly in the wrong direction.

Joe's quick mind goes over the last hour, almost a visible slideshow of memory. Quietly, cautiously, not entirely sure if he has it, he matches his stride to Parker (in whichever direction her stomping foot took her). "Parker, if this is about the old woman's bawdy comment..." He stumbles over the words, sincere but far from his normal urbane self, "You are too obviously a proper lady for the comment to be taken as anything but teasing myself and Devraj for our caring attention of you."

He starts to reach for her hand but pulls back, not wanting to invade her space, "Not as a comment on your character, truly."

The hesitation annoys her even more.

"I do believe she's mad at us." Dev says as he watches Parker's retreating form. "She really is cute when she's mad. Hate to see her go, but ah surely don't mind the watching." he mutters mostly to himself. "Parker. I'm not a mind reader. I know you're mad, and I'm sure there's a good reason, but we've got someone I believe you were interested in saving." The rest of what he was going to say remains unsaid as he realizes Parker and Joe are now probably out of earshot and distracted with their own conversation. He stops and waits for a minute or two, looking after them.

"Oh, is that it?" Dev's eyebrow raises yet again. "Didn't mean anything by my banter with her. I was just trying to help get you the best price possible on your new home. It's not like she was a rude oaf in bar." he pauses, "sorry, but I don't even like to think about hitting the ladies...especially um, 'old' ones." he pauses again, "forgive me?"
