So here's the situation.

I haven't been in a good place lately (again). My desktop computer has died due to a hard drive issue, and my one-year-old tablet has decided to stop working as well. This restricts me to posting on my phone, which is amazingly difficult due to a cracked screen and prohibitively slow loading times. I'm up against a deadline for job searching, I can barely afford to pay my bills, and the constant stress is leaving me pretty drained.

Right now, I'm at a friend's house posting this. I'll be around, and trying to post occasionally from my phone, but until Microsoft get me my replacement device, I'll be spotty at best.

A young halfling taken in by Ra'hl in the early years of the kingdom, Kalep Pipdash was a freshly minted bard spinning tales in a tavern. Seeing such work as a waste of his talents, Ra'hl took Kalep in. The halfling is a wealth of knowledge and education that Ra'hl never had. Kaleb is never far from Ra'hl's side, even his quarters are directly beside Ra'hl's own. The two have become close friends over the last two years, and Kaleb serves the role of confidant and councilor as much as his services as court herald and steward. Ra'hl and Ra'hl alone has bonded with the halfling enough to call him by the nickname "Pip", and the halfling will grow deeply offended by anyone else using the term.

I think I owe everyone an explanation, and an apology.

In my circle of gamer friends, I'm known as the one with terrible luck. When I play at a PFS table, my dice conspire against me, seldom rolling above a 9. When someone gets sick, I always pick it up. If technological eff-ups happen, they're always to me. I'm the bad luck magnet that soaks the bad stuff so everyone else can be awesome and have a good time.

So it dismayed, but didn't surprise me when, shortly after getting my replacement tablet, my charger stopped working, and I had to wait for a replacement to arrive (and it was only through goodwill that I was able to get one).

Then I came down with sinusitis.

Then I had to start involuntary volunteer work to keep my welfare payments (remember, I'm unemployed [not for lack of trying], and the Australian job market is tanking).

Then I developed laryngitis.

It sounds ridiculous, but it's all true - and my friends would back me up and say it wouldn't happen to anyone but me!

The sinusitis has passed, and the laryngitis is on its way out (finally!). I'm hoping to return to my (ir)regularly-scheduled posting soon. I'm sorry for my radio silence, and I wish I could promise more regular posts, but... the simple fact is, I don't know *how* life's going to kick me next.

Having had plenty of time to think in my pain-haze of various "itis"-es, I've realized that I don't actually know what I want to do with Anton build-wise going forward. GM, how would you feel about allowing a minor rebuild? I wouldn't be turning him into a fighter or anything; just maybe switch his school focus and feats. The furthest I'd go is rebuild him as an arcanist.

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay.

So, I've got bad news. At this point (well for a while now, but I've been hoping to fix things) I feel like I'm not really able to keep up with things. And, unfortunately, it's not getting any better with some classes I will be taking coming up that will leave me with even less time than I've had.

So, at a certain point one has to be honest with themselves, and with everyone. If I'm being honest, I really don't think I can keep making regular posts in a way that is not stressing me out (in the sense of trying to make time out of the way for it, not because the game inherently stresses me out) and not hurting the game for all of you. Especially when you could expand to someone who would be more involved and help keep things rolling.

I do want to say that I've had a lot of fun with this campaign, everyone IC and OOC has been an absolute blast to be around and I've really enjoyed playing Matt as well. So I don't want you, Devon, or anyone else to feel like it was anything personal or that I've not been having a good time. This is purely on my end (it's not you, it's me... but really).

I apologies to have to drop out like this and I'm more than happy to try and keep up with things until we can get to a point where an easy transition could occur, classes aren't going to be in full swing for a week or two (I wasn't originally planning on taking more coursework, this is kind of a last minute decision, which is also why there hasn't been any updates on the matter). So let me know what I can do to help things along and I'm open for doing with Matt whatever you please. If he wanders off, if he sticks around, if he becomes a bad guy, etc. All is certainly fine with me.

Again, I just wanted to say that everyone here is really fantastic, there are some great characters here, you all really are great and I hope that game continues to be very excellent for each of you.

Hey Man - sorry to hear that.

RL has this damned habit of stymieing all this good fun, so I feel you. I've had to shut down a pet project pbp (which Choon was part of) for workload reasons and I know it can feel like a punch to the gut making that decision to step away.

On a brighter note I've had a real blast too playing alongside Matt - particularly as he and Duska are different sides of a very similar coin. The verbal sparring and begrudging respect earned has been fun.

Its been a honour and a pleasure, and hopefully I'll get to sit at the virtual table with you again hombre.

I totally understand your problem. Don't feel bad for making reality your first priority. I expect it. This is, after all, only a game. Go forth and do well. :)


I totally understand how it can go and I echo the others that it has been fun but you need to do what you need to do.

As you have seen though, I try to keep an open table, especially for those who have been participating in good faith so if you find yourself in a time and place that you think you are interested in joining back up, say the word and Matt can return, or some other new mysterious stranger. ;p

Cuddles's little follow-alongs

Chris is a natural born leader and wrestler. She is Cuddles' opposite in almost every way imaginable. She is nimble of mind and body, witty, bubbly, and has a way of making everyone laugh. Except in the ring. She has an uncanny talent for tripping and prefers this method to the holds that Cuddles favors. Rumors say she can trip a horse and it doesn't even have to be drunk!

This group of young and highly talented people are the regular members of Cuddles' little wrestling squad. They meet every other evening after the work of the day is done and every morning for their devotions to Falyana. Some have gained the Empyrial Lord's favor and now follow cuddles as their "High Priest" though the title is more or less honorary.

The only man in town who might match Cuddles brawn. He is a massive man who works with the construction crews. He is famous for his songs he sings while he works. They are mostly Ulfen power ballads of battles long past and maidens rescued. If needed he will sometimes break out his Belzken War Drum and pound out a driving beat which always inspires the men to tremendous feats. His pet fox Firetail is always welcome around the work sites as well as he keeps pesky vermin from infesting the sites.
I actually have a character along these lines. At third level his raging song inspires all around for +8 Str and Con. with no fatigue penalty afterward.

This is the construction crew that does all the skilled labor for which Cuddles is... unsuited. There is a sculptor, carpenter, mason, Transmutation wizard, and even a highly studied bard who specializes in construction techniques. When Cuddles' crew gets at something it doesn't stay un-done for long.


Sorry folks I have been having a myriad of access issues, I apologize for the spotty posting.

Fergus - It is the case that the group may or may not want to access other areas of the world. Some of that is self directed and at your discretion. The AP is open enough and occasionally it tries to wrangle the group back in to more local matters but there is a lot of latitude.

As for the NPCs Im having folks make, they will be as relevant as you want them to be. I have some strict mechacnical uses for them but if the time is taken to create personalities that folks care about I will try to make them part of the world. Make sense?

Lovecký Pes - 5 x 2nd Level Gnomish Cavaliers who follow the Order of the Beast.

Each of these Gnomish knights are sworn servants of the wild. Upon their riding dog mounts the members of The Lovecký Pes (trans: The Hunting Hounds) provide Duška, and the Stagfall with fast harriers capable of engaging wilderness foes and delivering messages and news with equal aplomb.

So, I enjoy me a bit of League of Legends every once in a while and they recently released a Champion rework and this characters cloak would veer much fit Cuddles, I feel.
This cloak is full of lost souls.
I propose that the Cloak of the Executioner be enchanted with a Soul Trap like effect. One convicted of a crime deserving death or life imprisonment is given over to Cuddles. Cuddles then removes his soul from him and places it in the Cloak where it is free to experience whatever it is allowed to experience (hard labor via cuddles yes, council meetings no, etc.)
When the time for Parole comes, the soul is brought forth to answer for its crime again similar to Speak with Dead but they are more free in their respondes and bound to the truth as if they had failed a Zone of Truth save.

I like the concept but its pretty intense in the power scale. I think its something that can be worked up to though for sure....just not ready to throw that in the mix right this second.

To all my games:
I will be leaving for a hunting trip (Moose in Alaska) tomorrow and will not be back to full online presence until the 19th or 20th. I will be flying all day tomorrow, so I will be able to post some, but not as normal. I will be completely out of contact from the 15th to the 18th.
