The three headed devil-dog continues to tear into crocodile, having acquired a taste for its blood.

Eben MacTeague |
Eben grimaces as his last, lonely image gets skewered and the next arrow grazes the real him.
Cast on the defensive Concentration: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
He speaks, gestures, and 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 new Ebens split off from him. "Enough of this. We have been toying with you lot!" Speaking, his voice sounds deeper, duskier, and more intimidating than his normal light baritone. "I littered this arena with my... magical cards when we entered! And while we have fought, they have been stealing the luck from you all! Your luck is now ours!" His words seem to have a palpable effect on nearby listeners as he steps backwards in the air...
Standard action: recast mirror image on the defensive. Move action: initiate Dirge of Doom, affecting all enemies within 30 feet. Activate Dance of 23 Steps as a free action, 5-foot step back.
Good hope lasts 66 rounds, moment of greatness lasts 67, abundant ammunition lasts 68, cat's grace lasts 70 on Eben and 71 on Astraden. Mirror image lasts 80 rounds and gravity bow lasts 5. Haste lasts 4 rounds.
Mirror image has 4 images remaining, Eben's AC is 25 while haste & dance of 23 steps are active.
Eben MacTeague |
In between pronouncements of doom upon the opposition, Eben hisses down to Farrukh and anyone else listening, "Don't kill the bat on me, yet, he's going to be my meat shield!"
Not that Farrukh can reach him from the ground anyway, but in case anyone starts getting their bows out: another 5-foot step and I get cover vs. the bowmen.
Astraden Limhaare |
Astraden steps to the side and stabs Joren, doing her best not to pierce vital crocodile organs.

Carina Viera |
I think the bat that attacked me missed: I had a shield up as well as being hasted. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
Round 4: Actions
Move Action: Move away from the bats, rising 20 feet in the air near Tanith
Standard Action: Blast the nearest bat with a Fire Bomb
Grimacing as one of the bats nearly manages to land a bite despite her shield and speed, Carina flies over Tanith's head, doubtlessly provoking more attacks from the bats.
"My turn now." She whirls around in the air before throwing a bomb at the nearest bat!
Ranged Touch Attack (PBS, Precise, Precise Bombs, Bomber's Eye, Good Hope, Haste): 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 32

Tanith isn't 20 feet up. He would still be (more or less) at ground level. (I assume the bats on you guys were flapping right off the ground as well.)
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |
Despite his awkward position below his mounted opponent Tanith fires a painful kidney punch.

Dungeon Kobold |
I'm assuming he's the faded out one 5 feet away from me.
"All right, that's enough of that." Farrukh mutters to himself.
"PEEKABOO!" he cries, right before trying to fillet the Kobold.
And he's so surprised I get Sneak Attack on all of those, right?
Any excess attacks go to the Bat if it's within reach, or I just stop attacking once he's down.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Eh, sure, I'll let you get it on the first attack. 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
"Oh, my goodness, I suppose someone can see that kobold! In a single solid blow, Al'Khatel has dropped the last Bekbek brother! I think. I still can't see him.
"And—galloping grues, those are some nasty bites from the three-headed dog! I'm told that this is a 'cerberi', a hound of Hell. Dantares—or what's left of him—definitely is not pulling his punches! I think he might really be the summoner, fo—HOLY WATER, THAT HALF-ORC IS OUT FOR BLOOD! She's skewered, just skewered Joren once in the back, once in the side, lizard blood everywhere, Gruumsh's lone testicle! He's staggering, ready for the final blow! That berserker's not long for this world, folks!
"Viera's going 'batty' up there! It looks like she's 'echoing' her previous attack, aiming for the largest known flying mammal in the Free City region, and THAT'S A HIT! Glancing, but neither it nor its buddy are looking thrilled!
"Good heavens, that half-ogre—what? Oh, got it—Tanith Creed's grip is like a dragon's grip on its—what? Seriously? That's a common expression, it's not like I'm literally calling him...fine, fine—LIKE A DWARF'S GRIP ON HIS GOLD! What? What did I say now? You know what? That's it, you're fired. I fill the stands around here, I can talk about dwarves all damn day. The point is, that cavalier looks close to passing out! He's being practically scrunched up into a ball!"
Round 6 (note: someone prompt me when it's round 7): Sapphire Squad
"MacTeague seems to have spooked the other warriors with his fearsome cries. Even the bats seem a bit put off! But the cavaliers keep fighting! Korush is rushing towards the group, flying through the air, not giving anything up without a fight! He drops that bow—a reckless move, but Korush has always been more about style—and draws his scimitar again!"
Merc Longbow @Farrukh: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 2 = 8
Merc Escape: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 - 2 = 9
"Yes, sirs, that cavalier is hoping against hope, but it's no use! Like wrestling a behir! Behirs aren't dragons, right? Meanwhile, the other's shooting at Al'Khatel, seeing as any arrow sent at MacTeague would more than likely be 'batted' awa—and it's a miss! Small surprise, of course."
Round 5: Batlands Revenge
"Well, even the bats seem a bit spooked by MacTeague's speechifying, but not enough to leave him or Viera alone!"
Battack @Eben: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 2 = 21
Battacks @Viera: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 2 = 71d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 2 = 20
"They zoom past the grappling brawler in their haste, but they just can't land any hits—even as one bat attacks Viera from directly below! Don't think too 'batly' of them, however—this group has proven extremely nimble, and—"
The announcer gasps. "AND HERE WE HAVE JOREN COMING AFTER MISKIOTA WITH THE BITE! THEY'RE BOTH BADLY HURT, BUT IF HE CAN GET A GRIP—"
Bite: 1d20 + 15 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 15 - 2 = 24
"But it's no use! NO USE! Miskiota's technique, described by the few gladiators to beat her (and thus survive) as 'ungodly freaking annoying'—makes her almost impossible to hit, and I daresay even Spiny's Six will find her to be a terrific challenge!"
Round 6: Draconic Brood
Miskiota's fighting solo, but she's never surrendered before, a rule that has made the savage popular with the crowd despite her savagery—or maybe because of it! She's attacking Joren, and..."

"DOWN! JOREN IS DOWN! Not sure if he's dead or not, but those were a couple of nasty slashes, and—HOLY SHIT! WHAT THE F%+%? Was that a third slice? FOUL! A FOUL move by a FOUL little lizard! But it's legal! Fans, Miskiota was still pretty angry, it seems, as she just sliced a third time—at a fallen foe! I don't see how anyone, anyone could have survived that! Joren is DEAD!"
Cerberi second bite: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Bat Reflex save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Farrukh: You only needed one attack, so feel free to take an extra move action.
Round 6: You are up!
Eben MacTeague |
KC, I'm 25 feet from Miskiota and 20 feet high. Does that put me within 30 feet for stench-save purposes?
Eben MacTeague |
Eben's eye boggles as Korush comes closing in. Well, he's got nerve, I'll give him that... Admiration for the man's bravery doesn't stop him from shooting a batch of arrows his way.

Eben MacTeague |
Pretty sure Korush is elevated at Eben's height still, unless KC moved him down when he flew towards us.
Eben MacTeague |
More than enough. You're still hasted.
Dungeon Kobold |
Yeah, Korush is elevated. As is the bat, though Joren was still up then and would not let Farrukh pass without an AOO.
Also, the cerberi is compelled to immediately GTFO from Astraden on its turn. Protection From Law is up.
EDIT: Marked a potential route I believe Farrukh could have taken.

Farrukh Al'Khatel |
Farrukh moved over to Miskiota after dropping the kobold, and full attacked her this round, as above. I forgot to edit the post to reflect that he went to Miskiota instead though.
"You're a tough old bird, aren't you?"
Dungeon Kobold |
Right, just wanted to be sure.
Miskiota gives Farrukh a nasty look as she frantically tries to block with her own klars. She spits out Draconic curses under her breath as she's cut again and again.
"Farrukh hacks! Slashes! My gods, he's like a whirling blade barrier with a face! But I have a feeling Miskiota's going to be a bit more than DOWN! SHE'S DOWN! THAT LAST SLASH CAUGHT HER RIGHT IN THE SCALY JUGULAR, just by an INCH! REPEAT, MISKIOTA HAS FALLEN! Draconic Brood is FINISHED!"

Round 7: Actions
Standard Action: Throw a Dispelling Bomb at Korush.
Being unable to hit the broad side of a bat was bad enough... now Korush was taunting Tanith out of his reach.

Just because it's a chance to look cool, burning an AP for a Feat: Kick Up
"Can do, Eben!"
Farrukh dashes to where Korush's weapon is dropped, stowing his own Scimitar as he does so.
In one smooth motion he kicks the pommel of the weapon, sending it spinning up into the air. After a moment of air time, it falls into his waiting hand, where he gives it a little flourish.
Then he readies himself to attack the next enemy that comes in range.
"You want your sword back, Korush? Come and get it!"
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |
Tanith looks up at Korush's challenge only to smirk as the geniekin's weapon is knocked to the ground by Eben's charmed arrows and Carina's bomb blows away one of his defensive enchantments. The big Kordite gestures for Korush to 'bring it' and puts up his ham-sized fists. "Have it your way - no wrestling - but I think that's enough flying around. Why don't you come down so we can give the audience a proper ending for this round", he answers.
Readying to attack defensively if Korush descends enough to attack.

"Korush's brow is furrowed! He's thinking, ladies and gentlemen, but what will he do?"
~Not cool, MacTeague—you're lucky I'd feel bad scratching up your pretty face. Farrukh's groping all over Afifa! But I really don't think I can ignore two such determined challengers.~
Astraden and Rodrigo are up.
Eben MacTeague |
Quietly enough that it couldn't possibly be noticed by the crowd, Eben gives a little yelp of surprise and stares perplexedly down at Korush.
Rodrigo Dantares |
The three headed mastiff doesn't like getting hit with the scimitar and retaliates with a chorus of vicious growls.

"Two of the dogs are biting that cavalier on the leg, rending his flesh brutally! Yessir, he's looking pretty bad, folks, I'd bet anything he's out in a matter of seconds!"
Astraden is up.
Astraden Limhaare |
"Hey Korush! Get down here!" Astraden bellows, her voice tinged with a bit of magic. Her form shifts again, dividing into two Astradens as before.

"Say, folks, that was a close one! You could tell he was having trouble with it, but Korush's dabblings in magic seem to have left him with some resistance!"
New round will be up very soon.
