"Note that allies who are paralyzed, stunned, unconscious, or otherwise unable to act do not count for the purposes of these feats."
Is she in a position that she can't simply Withdraw?
Male Underpowered Warrior 1
No, because it's got 10' reach. I think she wants to use her crossbow again anyways.

Crossbow or pistol, I don't really care either way as long as the thing goes down.
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
I actually have a solution to the 10' Reach problem, just not the "I wanna move and also act" one.
Spend an AP for a Feat. Take Extra Traits. Take Careful Combatant.

Aw, I was gonna post about this today.
At this rate, we'll take two more years! Sorry! I'd questioned whether I should comment or let one of the original seven be the bearer of anniversary tidings.
Gark the Goblin wrote: IIRC Eben and I still both have potions of gaseous form so if things look awful, and we're still conscious, we've got a fair chance at escaping alive. Actually, I drank mine in the one-on-one private encounter where the doppelgangers kidnapped Eben. (Fun fact: being a cloud of gas doesn't prevent you from getting gangbanged by six, count 'em, six guys who all have wands of hold person.)
It's not still listed in my gear, is it? I'm not seeing it at a cursory glance.

That's how fun this campaign has been for me. :)
Stressful as all hell at times (3FoE, the harpies, & the doppelgangers come to mind), but fun!

So I guess only Astraden has a chance of escaping alive. Oh, the irony . . .

Well I'm out of the hospital and the good news is that I'm probably not going to die but I still feel like shit.
I'll try to get a post up tonight.
Glad to hear it. (Not the 'feel like shit' part, but 'not dying' is a good thing.)
Just realized this means you were in the hospital on your birthday.
Bet those scorching rays look like a better gift now.

Note that effectively, everyone can move after Astraden (since the last octopin is still stunned). Just remember that Astraden is technically moving in a separate block.

KC, if I make my save against the damage, which effect is applied first--the Shield Other halving the damage, or the Resist Energy subtracting the damage?
...never thought I'd have to bring Order of Operations into Pathfinder...

Now would be a good time to mention that I think we're out of shield other range. =(
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
The only damage shared is damage dealt to you, so only the damage that gets through Resist Energy gets halved between you and Tanith.

Yes. AND Good Hope. Or if not the first, then definitely the second.

...I feel really dumb right now.
I've definitely been on board with Good Hope. How on Earth did I forget I had Heroism active as well?
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Because they don't stack, so it doesn't matter.

Ah. That would explain it, I think...
Farrukh & Tanith are the heroism recipients. In retrospect, those might have been wasted spell slots. (I'd just figured good hope would run out sooner (and it did, but then I recast it) but we've really been powering through without pause.)

Heroism's never a bad call. It was always possible we'd run into something that would suck up a bunch of time.
Also I had solid foods today.
Yeah, well, the takeaway is, rather than pre-emptively casting heroism in case good hope ran out midcombat, I should have waited till both castings of good hope ran out (or ran low) before putting the buffer in. It would give me a few extra spells available right now. (Or available in a few rounds time, when I can do stuff again, assuming you guys don't kill Zyrxog before the stun ends.)

I really need to keep better track of that spell...
In this case it was Tanith doing an air walk, getting dispelled, and falling 40 feet down that probably popped it. Aside from hurling yourself off the balcony, I don't know that you could have kept up with it. (And hurling yourself off the balcony probably would have run contrary to the spell's purpose anyhow...)

FYI, KC hasn't been on the internet at all today - he's trying to get some studying done in preparation for classes on Monday.

Sorry, everyone, for that period of radio silence. Getting a bit whelmed right now by general Things and ended up essentially hiding from the internet for two days, but I should've at least taken the time to explain the situation instead of foisting it off on Gark. :P
Post will be up in the next half-hour.

Well, that was one of those funny little clerical errors that almost led to another clerical death. Good thing Zyrxog had already used the rod up on Carina—my notes were just out of date.
Female Kobold
It's kinda embarrassing, too, because I had a huge post ready about how I hadn't wanted another death, especially not for Gark, and how I'd make the raise dead fairly easy to obtain, and how everyone would get a "sympathy" free reroll to their Will save vs. stunned, and how I'd even considered fudging except Gark overheard me ruefully observing Astraden's "demise"...and then I realized my document hadn't saved previously and Zyrxog couldn't empower his rays anymore.
So, for those of you who just tuned in, sometimes I make mistakes. It even happens to me, believe it or not. And as much joy as I get from murdering PCs and mounting their heads on my wall (which would be much easier if you'd quit bringing them back to life, by the way), it's probably for the best that Astraden isn't Astrad-eadag-en.
Also, in case anybody's wondering, there is a logical reason he's not targeting Carina again. There's also a logical reason he's not targeting Tanith, but that should be fairly self-evident. :P

KC, if I were to step out into the hallway to attack Zyrxog, would I still need to roll a save for the octopin's slowing gaze?
Also, thank heavens my Resist Energy (Fire) is still up from Elsaroth...
Oh, that's an Empower rod? I'd assumed it was a Toppling one.

And by the way, Eben, did your haste spell target me as well? And is it still going on me (meaning will I still get the benefits of the spell until my turn ends)?
Yeah, you were always hasted. Emphasis on 'were', since the spell just ended. (Not sure what your current octopin slow status might be.)

Now I suppose the question is if I'm still 'slowed' by the thing's gaze.

This post is from round 5, and it's been three rounds since then, so I think you're un-slowed now.

I'm starting to wonder if I miscalculated my crit damage for my bomb...
Female Kobold
Simple house rule I'm introducing: You can open a door at any point during a movement (though it still expends a move action). I don't even know that that's not already a rule, but it should be.
This doesn't in any way affect Tanith's action. Just an FYI.
Also, this might not be necessary, but I'd remind you guys to check out the myriad uses of the Action Point. There are a number of "feat boosts" available. Some require modification, of course, like Power Attack (a feat which changed majorly between editions). The new version:
Power Attack: You can spend 1 action point to add +2 on damage rolls per -1 on attack rolls. For instance, if you take a -3 penalty attacking with a greatsword, you add +15 total to damage from the feat. This can also be applied to Deadly Aim.
I'm bringing this up because I'm not sure people have been aware up until now of Action Points' full versatility.
