Er... may I ask why Spiny is listed as a recurring villain?

The fact that you always thought he was nothing more than an animal companion and never suspected his true motivations speaks volumes.

Poor Anlathi's probably dead by now.

I'm sure this was mentioned elsewhere but what was Diamond Lake's relationship with goblins like?

Female Kobold

There isn't really one. The local goblin band has a decent relationship with the Bronzewood Lodge, though most of them worship darker deities. Bargrivyek, LE goblin god of cooperation, territory, and orc-hating, is popular, as is Maglubiyet, the main goblin god. Nerull also enjoys a substantial following, however, which is why the band gets along okay with the Bronzewood Lodge (Nerull is a part of the Old Faith, where he's known as the Winter King).

The goblins are a very rare sight in the town itself, mostly keeping to the hills. Bear in mind these aren't Pathfinder goblins—they have plenty of sense, and this particular band is fairly mild-mannered.

Notably, orcs are a common enemy of the goblins here and the Garrison, which has led to them having a tolerable "working relationship" as well—the Garrison tolerates the goblins' presence as long as they serve as a buffer between them and potential orc attacks. In exchange, the goblins leave the town and Garrison alone. They do still sometimes target travelers who make themselves tempting targets.

Female Kobold

Anlathi did mention Nogwier's name a couple times when you first met her.

Finally got Rodrigo updated.

He can teleport and has wings now amongst other things. Now that we have teleport, I suggest we build/buy a base of operations somewhere in the immediate vicinity of Greyhawk. That way when we want to go back to town, we have a set place to rest and recover as well as get rid of loot. Plus we can all keep an eye on our pet projects in the city. I know the AP moves away from there, but that's why teleport is cool. What do you all think?

Female Kobold

Ahhh. I just have to say: As someone who's never actually seen a campaign make it this far, it's going to be fascinating to see these first few steps into the world of mid-level and high-level options.

Actually, I just remembered that there's a map you guys might want to see. HERE is a map showing the area around Diamond Lake, also linked in the Campaign Info tab. Important locations (such as Tenser's old castle in Magepoint, presently occupied by Manzorian) are starred.

Could be neat. Although the impression I'm getting is that Magepoint MAY be a better place to buy/sell?

Female Kobold

You can make Knowledge (geography) or (local) checks to know a bit about Magepoint.

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4

So... Anlathi the elf is Nogwier's sister? Are we not the only ones playing around with reincarnations, then?

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Female Kobold

Nogwier and Anlathi had a very weird childhood.

Why didn't I go with "Cave Kobold" so it could be an inverted acronym

STUPID

Female Kobold

As a reminder, all bone devils are currently airborne (meaning you can move under them, though their 10-foot reach means you will take AoOs). The ones with dotted blue lines around them are slowed.

I waived the AoOs against Farrukh because I guessed he'd assumed he wouldn't be taking them.

So, to be clear from now on, here's a basic vertical map:

0XX0
0000
000F

Where 0 is empty space, XX is a devil (ten feet off the ground and occupying a ten-foot square), and F is Farrukh. As you can see, they can reach any square on the ground that is, on a bird's eye view map, next to them.

I was able to go under the one in the tree without an AOO, right? Otherwise I need to rethink my action.

KC, does this fill our random encounter quota for this journey?

Am I allowed to target the ice walls with Dispelling Bombs?

Female Kobold

You're allowed to do whatever you like. Whether or not it will work will require you to identify the effect, or resort to trial and error.

I feel like we've got a lot of mileage out of remove fear and that rallying shield.

Female Kobold

Too bad the rest of this AP has nothing to do with spawns of Kyuss! It's all constructs, elementals, and mindless vermin from here on out. With true seeing. And silence scrolls.

That's what I get for not reading. I still think it's worth it for Farrukh and Tanith alone assuming I can see them from the air.

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4

My casting of haste was predicated on the fact that Rodrigo was panicked and unable to do anything. Can I swap it out for good hope?

Female Kobold

Yeah, go ahead. That's partially why I highlighted it—I figured communication was hurting.

Also, sorry about the map, Rodrigo. I'll get you a screenshot in the morning. Got a last-minute online midterm to take. Just in case you all thought my terrible time management was restricted to how I run my PbPs...

Would magic circle against law be worthwhile here? Most of us already have deflection and resistance bonuses but it's the only spell I can cast now that can later still affect others. Otherwise I'm planning to inch my way around this wall and channel, if dispel law helps me stay up another round.

Silly sidetrek seed about going through a spooky town. Honestly, I thought it was the weakest of my submissions (I wrote it for 750words.com at the literal last hour), but it's the one that got accepted, so that happened.

I liked your bard performances in #14. I think the ooze charming one was my favorite.

I'm thinking we should invest in more anti-fear stuff. Astraden, I don't suppose you're planning on picking up one of those anti-fear class features so the rallying shield will bump up to +6?

Female Kobold

The only thing this party has to fear is fear itself! Also worms, clawed one-eyed octopi, squidheads and acid beetles. So basically fear effects and things without spines. And also things with spines if they're named Spiny, but that one mostly stayed on you guys' side.

This cloak is pretty rad. If it didn't compete with cloak of resistance. And it wasn't super expensive. And the spiritual weapon part of scaled. At all.

If you can find a spellcasting-advancing prestige class that gives one of those class features, I'm interested.
